WARRIOR OF DARKNESS MAYBE YOU WERE COOL AFTER ALL

I tempered my expectation through Heavensward and even still, I'm baffled with how strong of a expansion this is. A couple patches ago I wouldn't even have cared for much but now I'm too attached. They did so well with the main cast for Heavensward that I'm very happy with how things turned out here.

The Alexander Raid series, The Warring Triad, and now this patch... ARR's finale and post showed me what FF14 could be but now I'm in it for the long haul.

Damn, they got their shit together with .1 patch this time around. This was cool

COLD STEELLLLL 2!

CS2 has alot of similarities between SC which i find to be pretty cool in terms of presentation, structure and even somewhat the direction of the story (Albeit 2 different things) which i liked seeing. The only downside of CS2 is the pacing in act 2, funny enough reminded me of the section in SC which made you walk around the whole of Liberl lmao.

But i think this was a good step up from the first game in alot of respects and provided some good development for Rean and Class 7! The shock factor of Trails cliffhangers needs to be studied honestly.

Had fun with it and im looking forward to the second half of cold steel.

Being caught up on this gacha feels weird to me, not because of the game is bad or anything neither that i have with issues with the story, as matter of fact i love Penacony story and the how the climax is looking to be my favorite in the next patch.

It's funny though, i started this game one month ago for shits and giggles in the anniversary but for me i was quite suprised how much content it had for a beginner and how it was completely overwhelming at first but going back at it, i never expected to get hooked as much i did and how having the reputation of ''It's another mihoyo game'' and that was how my mutuals and especially me viewed the game itself at first.

Going through at first i always had my expectations lowered as usual but i'm still suprised how generous and how much stuff the game gives you just by playing it, of course there's issues that disapears when you get mid game which being locking the relics on story even though you have the level required to grind it but they still lock you regardless, the gap in difficulty whenever you increase the eidrolons levels making the boss tanky and being more painful to get through which it would be fine if the stamina was good enough to grind the relics with the right SUBSTATS for the characters that i need for and how i can randomly start a patch from 1.6 while i just finished Luofu (1.2)...

With that aside, Star Rail story was still a ride to get into and i'm very excited for Penacony's climax

should've played FireRed but i didn't know. it has its charm and i enjoyed it a bit but i didnt like it much it gets boring too quick imo but eh i can i say "oh i played a gen 1"

Going into cold steel 1 honestly my outlook was somewhat bleak considering the reputation it had prior to me playing it, but after completing the game i'm happy to know that the hate for it is so OVERBLOWNNN. And i assume most of the hate for it is either unmerited or from people who got into the series with this game without prior knowledge.

I think this game is pretty solid, taking it's time to explore Erebonia and building it up which is the massive appeal of the series for me. This is a given to any intro trails game so i didn't particularly feel it was 'slow' as i'm used to the formula. Albeit at first it may seem formulaic but it works well and Erebonia is so damn INTERESTING!

I Kind of had some concerns about the cast size being so massive and how they were gonna handle 9 whole characters but i believe CS1 handled it pretty well to build up the foundations for alot of these characters. I'm actually pretty invested into Rean as a character and i think he could be pretty amazing down the line.

Besides the usual shit, Trails games always have amazing soundtracks and this game is no exception. First time hearing 'Oinaru Chikara' is an experience plus the gameplay is as fun as it's always been.

THE ENDINGGGGG UOGHHHHHHHHHH. I'm hyped for the rest of the Cold steel games man

For starters, I was not expecting myself to have binge this game so soon after buying the game.

FF7 was not the first game I was originally intending to play in this series but I couldn't help still wanting to play it due to recommendations from friends and as rebirth has just came out.

What I hadn't expect though was a story, so entrenched in so many ideas that I think it reasons that it stands the test of time. From the beginning, insinuating a anti-corporation stance with Barret and Avalanche, it truly immerses you to midgar.

What this game does with it's protagonist has to be one of the most touching story I've seen in gaming. Cloud's character paved the way for a lot of my favourite characters in some shape or form, but that's not even the full brunt on what makes me appreciate him. His inspirations and insecurities are at the heart of the story. They somehow managed to trick me multiple times in terms of reveals that one its all said and done, it does so in such a profound and human way.

It feels like a triumph in storytelling and video games and I'm genuinely happy I got to experience this classic to it's fullest.

A game that wears its grotesque atmosphere and gameplay proudly. Replaying this game as a whole was just an idea I thought of on the spot after some personal issues, and after pouring out over another 80 hours I feel just the same as all those years ago when I first beat it. When first playing I remember how much I adored the gothic take it approached but the replay cemented my feelings on that. The polish in regards to level design is unmatched, like the unseen village, fishing hamlet, and a common trope even in souls games but fighting Gehrman in the flower field is spectacular.

While its base game has its own collection of positives, the elements that come together to make the DLC are still prevalent in base game to me. Ludwig, the first hunter of the healing church and my favorite boss in all of Bloodborne, and if i'm honest my favorite ost to accompany a boss in souls games, an ost that genuinely incites fear and hesitation in you. While his first phase portrays him being decrepit and broken down, the subtle touch of his second phase being reconnected with the Moonlight Greatsword and his moves in turn becoming more focused and polished than his first phase having sporadic moves to then dancing between the projectile slashes will never get tiring. His fight while taking me less than 5 tries still felt rewarding and your talk with just his floating head ontop of all the floating carcases actually got emotion from me, and the slight detail of equipping church gear allowing you to speak with him further. “Good hunter, have you seen the thread of light? Just a hair, a fleeting thing, yet I clung to it, steeped as I was in the stench of blood and beasts. I never wanted to know, what it really was. Really, I didn't” AHHHHHHHH HES DONE MIRACLESS ON MEEEE

Lady Maria is also just an absolute joy to fight and my favorite fight outside of ludwig, its a humanoid fight done perfectly. Orphan of Kos is another trip cause the scream I let out when I first beat that orphan oh my days. I’d be lying if I didnt say I hadn't had slight grievances with this game like Micolash’s fight just being dumbed down to a gimmick. The idea of traversing through Mergo’s Loft within the boss fight in itself interesting but what makes it all fall flat is Micolash himself, with his moveset being dumbed down to just spamming Augur majority of the fight. The best part of Rom’s fight being the stage itself and Hemwick Witch just being rubbish and forgettable. Also brainsuckers area alek level enemies. I could go on about the Laurence fight but my only grievance about that fight is his snatched waist that gives him that small ass hitbox. Some small things like a limited weapon inventory compared to other souls games in a way pushes you to stick to a weapon instead of shuffling through them with the trick system being an addictive feature. while most souls games aim towards abandoned stages devoid of life, Bloodborne stays loyal with Yharnam and all the areas you come across, the gothic and genuine decay carries over the story especially with the victorian era architecture and how dimmed down the colour palette throughout the story is. It’s lore that makes you pay more attention to your surroundings and want to dive in deeper to divulge answers to the world around you and the revelation that the blood thirsting monsters roaming around you are nothing but end results of the world around them plagued by the Great Ones which is an aspect that continuously pushes the story, and, succumbing to bloodlust and disease that traversed throughout Yharnam. Miyazaki presented so many layers with this game and contrived something special here

Eileen come home the kids miss you
