I know that there are only two existing chapters at the moment, but I'm not sure if any future chapter will be able to top my love for this one.

I. Fucking. Love. Queen.

Anything that came out of that woman's mouth had me rolling around on the floor laughing. She very well could be my favorite character out of every piece of media ever.

And the end of this chapter had me BEGGING for more! If I wasn't hooked on DELTARUNE before, I sure as hell was when I saw that ending cutscene.

Incredible work as always, Toby, thank you!!

An intriguing spinoff of UNDERTALE.

I initially booted up this game a little wary, because I didn't think it would be able to live up to the standards that its predecessor set, but I was SO pleasantly surprised!

It's got a new and improved battle mechanic (with magic!), and MORE unconditionally lovable characters on top of the old ones we loved so much in UNDERTALE!

I love how this game come with even more detail and an interesting mystery to the story, unlike UNDERTALE.
In UNDERTALE, we knew right away that our goal was to set monsters free in order to escape the underground.
In DELTARUNE, there is, again, that basic gist of having to seal dark fountains, of course, but there's also the underlying mystery of who Kris is on top of all of that.

It's SO interesting that the character you control seems to also have a mind of their own, who probably doesn't enjoy the player's decisions all too much. That aspect alone reminds me somewhat of Oneshot, which is another amazing RPG.

Objectively the best game I've ever played.

The battles are all unique, fun, and challenging -- while still being relatively beatable for those who aren't well versed in gaming.

The music? INCREDIBLE. I first played this game back in 2015/2016, somewhere close to its release date -- I still listen to the soundtrack regularly, and have even learned a couple pieces on the piano.

The characters are all so charming, it's impossible not to fall absolutely in love with at least one character, if not all. Personally, I find every character just flawless. So thought out, with each having their own story to tell and unique aspirations.
What's funny is the fact that the antagonists end up being the most lovable. You start the game, like any game, hating them and wishing they'd kindly fuck off, but by the end you just grow to love them so much.

The story never fails to make me cry. The message the game sends is so simple, so generic, one that each of us has heard time and time again -- to be kind -- yet it delivers this message like no piece of media I've ever consumed. This is the kind of game I have no shame in recommending to others: young, old, male, female, gay, straight, etc... I truly think that anyone would enjoy it.

2020

Poetic, thought out storyline with well developed characters. While the game took about 30 hours to complete, I do have to appreciate the time, effort, and detail that truly went into it.

The art is simple, yet very fitting and incredibly well done. I enjoyed picking apart each cutscene while trying to piece the story together.

My only critiques are in some of the mechanics of the game. I didn't particularly enjoy the hundreds of enemies that would run around and occasionally even trap me in a corner, forcing me to battle them.

Also, playing this on console was slightly difficult as diagonal movement isn't possible in this game, which is not fun when using a joystick!

I didn't LOVE the battle system, as it felt too easy and got repetitive super quickly. For instance, there are seriously hundreds of weapons and charms you can equip to make your team stronger, but they really aren't necessary.

All in all, I do think Omori is worth at least a try, especially for those who enjoy good music and stories that come together at the very end!
