Now THIS is the true MySims in my heart. You have a lot more "meaningful" interactions with the people with a lot more interesting actions such as fishing or botany and even encouraging the locals to experiment with their hobbies like chinese food cake. You shouldn't play it probably but it's good

Good Platformer but not a good High-Speed Platformer; it's so easy to fly and skip half of the hazards before late-game levels, can't say I was bored messing with and exploring though. You can also beat it in one evening, so quickly I don't even know if it's a 3 or 3.5 stars because I didn't have enough time to conclude that. I never expected the bosses to be the best part of any 3D platformer though, especially the second half, I enjoyed learning them on the hardest difficulty (again) while listening to the bangers of this game

I’m so happy with how this remake turned out, it’s so gorgeous looking everywhere you look, Tartarus is fun to play! They made the worst part of the game better! Simply by making it feel like it goes by so much faster by how fun the gameplay is. Theurgy is such a fun addition to the combat making every character even more varied, tho let’s be honest Ken and Koromaru are so strong it’s ridiculous lol. Having all the social links be voiced also helped me enjoy their stories even more than before, even the ones I still dislike like they still don’t go over the out of nowhere cult stuff in the moon social link or anything, but the new Link episodes are a amazing addition for the male party members, the only complaint I can think of for this game is the opening cutscene and awakening cutscene don’t feel as strong as the original, they don’t have that impact anymore sadly but the rest of the cutscenes are really well done, so why is it ranked 10/10? Cause I still really liked it lol

Heartbreaking: two games you vehemently despise for spitting on the creativity of your favorite contentious sequel of all time just got a good port

"You mean that whole "dark age of the law" nonsense? I'm so sick of hearing about that!"
- Athena Cykes, The Cosmic Turnabout, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies

its QOL improvements don't save this from just being horrendously uninteresting and stale compared to literally every other AA. The writing is appallingly bad and every case that isn't the one with the high school is a 4/10 or worse. Genuinely the worst game I played in 2020

dark age of the law was darker in aa4?

i truly loathe this game. it introduces a lot of characters and concepts i want to love, but the direction of the game feels so wrong? it retcons a lot of cool things introduced in aa4, and completely wipes the character development of a lot of key returning characters. they completely massacred apollo!!! many of the cases are boring and it was a brave decision to focus the emotional weight of the story on your new character that you gave zero development & meaningful screen time to. i bought the dlc cases for this game before i played anything and i couldn't even bring myself to play those.

It's not very good. They seem to undo all character development from the previous game and forget it even happened. Also, I feel as though most of the new characters are too tropey and ridiculous to be taken seriously in more serious moments. In my opinion, I felt as though the overarching story was pretty hamfisted too.

Why did they introduce another new defense attorney right after Apollo and only focus on her in two cases? Why did they drop so many plot points from the last game? Why is Blackquill one of the only consistently good parts of Dual Destinies? The world may never know.
