Feb 2023: This Month's Games
a public journal of everything i've played this month

20 Games
legitimately excellent, i'd have hundreds of hours in this if any of my friends played it
feeling like a big dumb baby for being alienated by the old UI compared to paradox's newer, sleeker offerings. i've already got hundreds of hours in this, why does it bother me now!
the best story-first roguelite on the market, hands-down. solid understanding of action game fundamentals to boot. huge respect for pulling off something like this, everyone who can play it should do so
nethack for people who need 3d graphics and WASD controls in order to play a game. prob not a good intro to roguelikes but it's a chill experience for those already familiar
flips a switch and suddenly goes from very chill to very stressful out of nowhere, but the simple control scheme works really well for what it's trying to do
i can't see anything that's happening but i'm sure it kicks ass
truly a very good action game, my only real complaint is that most of the spells start to feel very familiar very quickly. with better variety i'd probably triple my playtime
really like the resource gathering, but it still feels like a roblox game in that the mechanics are there without any of the end goals
Need for Speed's attempt at making a Fast and Furious movie without the license, complete with the awkward loot system from The Crew
i know some who are really fond of games like FlatOut who might really like this but i'd rather rub sandpaper against my eyes than have this russian stereotype do the gangnam style dance in my face one more time
trying to picture the person out there who has 5k hours in this
HOO boy, playing this after Sandrock feels rough. no real reason to play this over its own sequel, and definitely no reason to play this over many of the other "village life" simulators out there
ankle-deep emotionally. not very far in, admittedly - not very impressed, either
really wish they titled this one something else so my steam friends stop thinking weird things about me
reprehensible! somehow manages to combine dating sims and incremental games in a way that fucks up the appeal of both of them. actually impressive in that regard
completely charmless to the point where it's almost entirely been wiped from my mind as i write this 5 months later. one thing that i will always remember though is the tutorial that is so tedious that i felt a scream welling up inside me, which is a neat little achievement
