Honestly curious to see what route of anti intellectualism and "appeal to the past" Pokémon fans will use to defend this rushed, shallow, soulless and unfinished piece of code, only because of the franchise attached to it.
Wonder if they will ever realize this is just degrading video game status as an art, since they reduce the bar so low, it becomes a mere product.

Pseudo-intellectuals out of the woodwork like clockwork.
I actually think the rapidly downwards trend of performance for a pokemon game is making a stronger case of it being art
What reddit does to a mf
it has cool little dudes in it 🤷♀️
Real intellectuals don't feel the need to call people who might enjoy whatever game for their own reasons anti intellectuals'. I would say the art aspect of this game (the creativity of the world and new Pokemon models) isn't the problem, it's the technical aspect which they probably patch up later (hopefully?). Pseudo-intellectual is the right word.
@rensie so true
While I agree that the game's technical problems should be condemned, I don't think the discussion of video games as art is as strong with the Pokemon franchise. The Pokemon franchise definitely has fantastic moments that could support the argument that these games are art. Still, at the end of the day, these games are being made for a massive audience and are mainly marketed toward kids. I feel the game should be criticized more as a broken product rather than a messy art piece.

@keiler you clearly have no idea what you're talking about
@ThatOneGuy disagree, anything is inherently valued as art in the right eye. YOu can still appreciate the metanarratives, meanderings and concepts managed by Pokémon in every holistic view and still be critical about its caged performance, it doesn't have to be this elitist thing of art games. That school of thought has actually damaged a lot of videogame discussion for putting market and intentions first - human work second.
