Half Life 2 is a game that eventhough came out almost 20 years ago it´s still impressive to this very day. Eventhough I wasn´t crazy on the story or characters (although all of that is very well made) everything related to gameplay mechanics and level design is absolutely amazing. This is a game that even when looked at through a modern day scope holds up very well becuase of its variety of levels, clever puzzles and good weapon variety.

Can´t wait to play Episodes 1 & 2

This game slowly evolved throughout 3 years from being a game that I really enjoyed but didn’t really go crazy for, to one of my absolute favorite games ever made.

How this game redeemed itself from a buggy mess that sold empty and false promises, to one that I feel really confident in calling a masterpiece that I would recommend to basically everyone is something I’m really happy about. Update 2.0 completely revitalized the game and made it what Cyberpunk should’ve rightfully been from the begging, a game with a beautifully made narrative, art direction, world (lore wise), soundtrack, gameplay, and open world. How the gameplay and open world got revamped is absolutely astonishing. Exploring Night City without needing to only focus on map markers and actually enjoying simply riding through it and trying to find cool stuff feels amazing! Gameplay wise this game was absolutely reborn, the skill trees actually feel like they matter and are more than simple minor stat boosters. Completely new abilites were added and now completely different builds can be played in this game with every single one of them being fun and viable.

Now onto the dlc. As if 2.0 wasn’t already an absolute win and made Cyberpunk an excellent game, CD Projekt Red also went out and made one of the best DLCs that have ever been made in the history of gaming period. Dogtown is a relatively small but absolutely packed new area that has some of the best gigs, side missions, cool little Easter eggs, and of course a completely breathtaking new main quest. V’s new role as a NUSA agent alongside Reed, Alex, and Songbird was an absolutely wild ride with great writing and genuinely nerve wrecking decisions to be made.

Eventhough this has been said a million times already, Cyberpunk has truly redeemed itself and is now one of my favorite games of all time.

Nicely done CDPR, nicely done…

This is my rating before the 2.0 update.

Played this for the first time back in 2021 in a PS5 so I didn’t experience most of the bugs and glitches this game was very famous for, but still, some glitches still happened (minor ones at that).

This rating is based solely on what the game was without taking into account bugs. This was one of the best narratives and worlds (lore wise) I have ever seen in any game ever, in those aspects alongside art direction and soundtrack this game is a rock solid 10/10, some of the best you’ll ever see in any game ever. Now, gameplay wise this game was…conflicted. It had solid gunplay and the hacking added a cool extra layer on how to approach situations, but it all felt very unorganized and unpolished. Guns had variety but how the leveling system worked it felt like there was never progress into how you played the game. Something that was also very underwhelming was the open world itself. Night City in this state of the game was visually beautiful and filled with cool lore and side missions, but beyond that it felt empty and hollow. There wasn’t a functioning police system, NPCs all looked almost the same and functioned like potatoes, all that making it so Night City seemed absolutely excellent when looked from afar, but very mediocre when actually looking into it.

Even so, I considered this game to be slightly better than The Witcher 3 back in the day because eventhough Cyberpunk wasn’t nearly as polished as The Witcher 3 I liked the story, setting, and SPECIALLY gameplay WAY more the TW3’s. Overall solid game that thankfully got fixed :).
