the shtick of this game gets old fast, what you see is definitely what you get, but for that first couple of hours the game is still fresh it is ungodly amounts of fun and painful. loved playing this with my friends.

i havent played much of this, but i will say the excessive gore makes it so i can only play this for like a half hour at the time. im not even sensitive to gore, its just so excruciating that it starts to be grating to have to go through cutscenes of spines getting ripped out every time i play

My best friend is the community leader of sorts of this game. He started modding it for fun like it's fun to fix up an old piece of junk car. Through this he inadvertently become one of the most important figures in the somehow active CastleMiner Z community, and now runs their discord server. He tells me that the team made millions from the game and invested it into a PvP game called Death Toll. It was released at a hefty $50 price tag, to mediocre reviews. The price continued to get cut and cut, until it was free, but still was essentially unplayable because of the completely nonexistent playerbase to match with. They lost everything, and the head developer of Digital DNA went into thousands of dollars of debt. His wife then divorced him, and now, every once in awhile he will simply post updates on the CmZ steam page saying he'll return to the CmZ community eventually.

honestly? the amount to which i despise this game cannot be put into words. its like the entire game is dedicated to just being frustrating with no payoff

truly an innovative game. FINALLY a roguelike where all the characters are really hot
the absolute amount of creative energy and effort that went into this, a complete remix of everything toontown online was, is insane. the tasklines are a lot longer and can get real boring but if you a) miss toontown but also b) think the orignal base game has gotten bland, you have to try this.
