It sure is lego star wars.

Kinda loses the whole "puzzle" aspect about halfway through the game, when it turns into just a walking simulator with extra steps, but the writing really saves it.

Runaway capitalism simulator.

Really cool concept hampered by some clunky combat and being a bit light on the story.

A really solid top down action roguelike. Unique in its setting as well which helps a lot.

As a newcomer to the halo series, this was awesome! Had a lot of fun with it and the multiplayer was pretty solid too. I get that long-time halo fans are crying and shitting their pants over this game, but tbh it feels unwarranted. I've never found halo to be particularly compelling as sci-fi, an adventure story, war story, or really anything it's trying to be, so I wasn't expecting much going in. The story is boring asf, but any game with a grappling hook and no fall damage is doing good things.

Also, controversially, I really enjoyed the MP progression system. It makes you try new things and play outside of your comfort zone, actively discouraging farming and encouraging varied use of playstyles. Great game!

Monolith is an underrated company. FEAR was an underrated franchise in general, although the 3rd kind of fell flat. Luckily they managed to claim some of the respect they were due with this game.

In hindsight it was a sign of things to come. At the time, revolutionary. Like BL2, this game gets an extra star for it's villain. At least for half the game. Unlike BL2, it also has an interesting protagonist.

Handsome jack, as a character in this particular game, gives it a whole extra star. One of the only video game characters I can think of off top that is actually a well written, well acted, and interesting character.

Janky, brown, and dull at times, but it will always hold a special place in my heart.

It's not for me, but it's competent and at least has an interesting setting, which puts it a step above most extraction shooters.

I personally disagree with the hivemind on this one. Not about the campaign, oh no, every COD campaign is and has always been fucking awful, but the MP in this game was actually a nice breakaway from the standard COD recipe.

The gaming equivalent of flavored sludge. I still played the hell out of the MP tho.

I replay this game probably every 3-4 months. Just a plain old good time.
