The perfect sequel to Breath of the Wild. Some progression was difficult to discover, and it would not be ideal to play this game without first learning how to play it by beating BOTW. The story is much more fleshed out versus BOTWs. The only major gripe I have with it is the lack of an endgame.
Nintendo has an amazing capability to make long and convoluted games simple and easy to digest. While BOTW has many flaws, it is, as a complete experience, nearly the perfect open world action adventure game. The story leaves some to be desired, but it is not necessarily bad, just different from past entries.
Played this game for nearly 10 years. I am fully blinded by nostalgia and attachment, but over 1K hours in I have to say this is the best game in the Animal Crossing series, and my favorite life-sim by far.
