never played it, but this is for chad

This game started off really fun and impressive especially for it's time, but it quickly started to show it's ugly side, with weird, convoluted, repetitive level design and annoying combat mechanics. By the end, it wasn't very fun, however, it obviously holds an important place in gaming history and I appreciate it for that, I just wouldn't recommend it to anyone outside of people that are super interested in playing everything Metroid or just have a general interest in retro stuff, when there's multiple games that improve upon it in it's own series and outside of it as well. Some redeeming qualities that lead me to rate this with two stars and not one are the music and the overall movement and platforming which, when enemies weren't interrupting, was admittedly pretty enjoyable.

A cool concept that desperately needs a revival.

this is just not very well designed

Probably the best megaman game out there excluding the network series. Just improves everything from the first game and it had a solid ending as well. Feels bad we never got legends 3, but we did get EX-Troopers out of it though.
