Above and beyond getting 100% in a game, it's typically not seen by the game developers eyes as "normal" to go this far. Since max% can mean many different things and is really open to interpretation, I'm leaving notes on why I would consider what I did in the game to count as max%

Besides getting 999 moons, I also got all 50 Stars in Luigi's Balloon World, as well as maxing out counters for no reason (Like getting 99 moons in every single shop)
Solved every single puzzle (523, +135, +6 Save File)
Completed all of the Mail quests, got every single hat!
Complete every level with Random Shapes
I obtained every single Lantern in the game, including the DLC. So beating every level with more than 100% accuracy and also completing every single speed trial
