what a weird game. sticks out like a sore thumb in the squenix lineup but it's not as bad as people said at the time.

the best fighting game ever made. every smash game since has been either worse or way worse

better than 2k but it still gets boring fairly quickly like any golf game. i can only win every tournament by 20 strokes so many times

do you know where i can find some sailors around here?

wake me up

wake me up inside

can't wake up

tfw "counter-strike but worse" is the nicest thing you can say about a game

pro tip: if the first 55 hours of your game are comprised of the most boring cutscenes ever made, please for the love of god make them skippable.

this game adds a bunch of interesting and refreshing gameplay to the pokemon series but it still feels just as lazy as sword/shield and violet/scarlet. the game is ok but there's just not much to do. palworld has more content as an early access game and it's really sad to see pokemon games get phoned in like this.

it's been over a year and the game still runs like lego island from 1997. unacceptable

pretty good game with lots of content for early access. as you get to the mid game you start realizing just how empty the world is. there really isn't much to do outside of resource management for your base. still better than the recent pokemon games

while we are racing against time to stop the sector 7 plate from falling, there are no fewer than 4 cutscenes that stop the action in its tracks for characters to have slow, meaningless conversations about nothing while the timer is counting down. it plays like two different studios made this game -- one for cutscenes and one for gameplay -- and they never talked to each other during development. the tonal disconnect is crazy. some of the worst cutscenes in square enix history and trust me i've played them all.

as for the gameplay, the first 2/3 of the game was pleasantly surprising and decent. i liked the battle system and thought the new side characters were boring but at least tolerable. from the train graveyard onwards this becomes a soul-crushing hallway simulator from hell. wtf happened? why are we elongating meaningless areas from the original into boring 2-hour segments? what does any of this add to the original?

it was better when we were all stuck inside during the pandemic. without your buddies it's pretty mid

this was definitely one of the games that came out last year.

the roads were made of butter and black ice. my cell shaded toyota supra could not handle it. would play again

Every October: hey the new features are pretty cool and I'm having fun figuring out the new meta. Not bad!

Every December/January: this game is dogshit and not fun and I hate my life.

i've played them all since 2002 and this piece of shit is the lowest point in the entire history of the franchise. terrible terrible game
