Re-playing this game now and the atmosphere and monsters are pretty goated for MH games, especially with the expansion. If they somehow added in the dogs from Rise it would have a strong case for best game in the series.

Unskippable cutscenes are a huge negative.

this is the first zelda game that stands shoulder to shoulder with the big boys since wind waker. zonaite farming almost singlehandedly brings the game down by an entire star because that shit is excruciating. it makes end-game/post-game a slog from hell. i don't want to spend 15 hours hitting rocks in order to make the cool gundam that i saw on youtube. the temples are meh and the wind temple had the only cool boss fight
