One of my fave platformers. Was super appreciative of the selection of different goth characters to play as

used 2 fight with my sister over who got to play as goth teensy

I religiously played this with my sister as Woody and me as Buzz when we were little. The super rainbow fairy Lotso universe used to scare the shit out of me. Loved kicking the crap out of the npc villagers đź‘Ť

When I was a child I hated Tom Nook’s stingy ass so much that I wrote “Tom Nook is a little bitch” on the town news board once and then proceeded to get so scared nintendo that would take away my game. I was really young then and I also thought the npcs in the game could understand the online chat messages so I would stand by Tom Nook and call him ugly and stupid.

Poured so many hours into this as a child going into a town and killing their chickens with a hammer.

Way more boring and repetitive than I remember it being, but oh well. I have to give credit to one of few games which catered to my little goth heart as a child.

Though I love horror games, I rarely ever come across one that builds real tension in my gut while watching or playing. This one does and its pretty thrilling.

SOOO CUTE !!! I <3 DEADDY!!!

Definitely doesn’t measure up to the first game and leaves the overall lore in a complicated spot. I think the vigours are close to useless, considering that most of the heavy lifting is done by using guns. On my last playthrough (probably was when I was 15, so 5 years ago…) I hadn’t even upgraded any of mine until the very end, and there were no repercussions.

The worldbuilding is wildly problematic in how it handles its concepts. It becomes glaringly obvious how hollow its message (or lack thereof) will be at basically the start of game. It portrays the horror of America’s white supremacist colonialism and jingoism, but doesn’t do any more than that. Moreover, Booker and Elizabeth being direct players in the perpetuation of these evils and the portrayal of the Vox Populi as being in the wrong too leads the game to be less of a critique of these realities and actually just a tonally abhorrent centrist nightmare.

An incredibly camp point and click horror that starts off pretty well, but then falls apart a bit as it tries to piece together an increasingly bizarre plot through dream sequences.

I actually did play this as a very little kid with my parents. It was really strange and I remember it being pretty empty and inaccessible bc of paywalls. I kept all my funkey figurines though and sometimes I look at them like they’re ancient relics lol

I always preferred this over Animal Crossing because it had cuter designs and a spooky vibe. Genuinely a shame it never became too big here, it’s adorable.
