Man…I complete only three games in nine months of owning my PS5; I leave to India for ten days during which my experience is the exact opposite of that provided by modern American divertive comforts. I travel 30 hours straight (directly following a very long day at the Taj Mahal) and I come home looking to relax by enjoying some of those sorely missed diversions, and manage to complete two of the games in less than a half hour of play. I knew I was close, but not that close!

This is a beautiful game to look at, and the emotive power of its metaphors is quite striking, even if it is one that didn’t keep me super engaged. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about games that minimize or eliminate conflict, but I do appreciate what this game was going for.

Completed in 9 hours of play.

Loved the game play, the characters, the scripting, and the story. This is the second game (after Skyrim) to completely hook me and drive me towards completion, and I feel such a great sense of satisfaction having just beaten it (especially as I just now returned from a long and fairly grueling [albeit wonderful] trip to India). I’m so glad that this was the first story game with actual game play mechanics (not just that quick time stuff) that I’ve beaten.

Not exactly sure how I feel about the end of the game. It came fairly abruptly (especially as I was expecting a couple more chapters) and there was a lot that didn’t feel resolved. Also, I’m not a fan of Joel’s final choice.

I beat this on the second level of difficulty (normal I think) and it took me 33 hours. I hope to try it again someday at a higher setting. Also…missed out on a lot of the trophies (although I’m not exactly sure why).

Decided to play this because I was mildly curious to see the storyline that served as Zach Snyder’s chief inspiration for his unfinished Justice League trilogy. I don’t love Zach Snyder and I don’t really love this game. It was a fairly cool concept and i was into it at the beginning, but lost interest as the story progressed.

I also wasn’t super impressed with the visuals or the game play. When I beat Superman to end it, I really hadn’t progressed much in terms of mastering the controls. I had a couple of simple moves that I used repetitively to beat him. It really wasn’t much of a challenge, which, on the one hand, was kind of nice as this is the first video game that wasn’t an interactive film that I’ve completed since I took up gaming again, but, on the other hand didn’t really help me progress much.

Took 4 hours (haven’t figured out how to journal on this thing yet).
