Literal crack, couldn't stop myself from playing more. Has just about everything I would want in a game like this. Banger on all fronts.

A pretty complex and interesting colony/city sim, a ton of systems to dig into and enjoy. Gets a little too complex for my tastes near the end, but I want to keep trying. The completely "apolitical" approach to colonialism sucks, though.

I really like the choice-based approach to this game. I also real like Hank and Connor as a duo.
That being said, as time has gone on, my opinion of this game has gone down. I can't help but feel like it's portrayal of social injustice is mishandled.

a game with a LOT of missed potential saved only by Connor's route and flexibility of character.

A decent game from a studio that has put out stinker after stinker. Even so, with this probably being the game of theirs that has the best moments in it, it also has some of the worst. Of course the themes of the game are handled badly! David Cage is barely even human. He doesn't understand what makes a good story good. And of course Kara's entire plot is just an excuse to have his favorite "pretty woman in peril" trope. I've seen it all before.

What I did not expect was the genuinely awesome buddy cop between Android and Human. Connor and Hank are great, and their scenes together feel the most believable and human of any of them. And from what I understand, that is almost all attributed to Clancy Brown and Bryan Dechart's improvisation during filming these scenes. And apparently they had to fight tooth and nail to keep those little moments in the game because of David Cage who did not understand why they would do such improvisation. Ridiculous french man tries to self sabotage his own game.

It's one of those games that you play it, you have a good time, and then the next day you start to think about it and it all falls apart. If the game was all Connor and Hank? Possible 10/10. But with the Madison Paige 2.0 bot having one of the worst story moments I've ever seen, and Jesus bot Marcus as the leader of the robot civil rights movement, Detroit disappears SO FAR up David Cage's ass and miles away from anything that was initially likeable about it.

That Star Wars game is gonna SUUUUUUUCK.

Looking at the rating and reviews on Backloggd you would think this is a bad game, but it's actually not! It's just not a game for zoomers wanting to win with a few clicks. Instead, it's a game for those who enjoy OG sim games such as the classic SimCity and SimTower. You need to really think and plan to do well in this game, even on Easy.

Project Highrise is great, similar but not exactly like SimTower and Yoot Tower. Project Highrise focuses more on the management part, akin to SimCity 2000. Very fun, challenging, and it natively supports mods! There's a few minor complaints about QOL improvements should be made, but nothing huge to really keep you from enjoying the game if you play enough.

Really fun game for a few days but there wasn't a lot to do once you expanded as far as you could - plus there wasn't much variety in terms of gameplay, building types, etc. Gameplay didn't really "evolve" as I expanded my civilization.

Mass Effect 3 is one of the best games I’ve ever played. Top 5. Top 3. Maybe the best.

There is a lot of discussion on what doesn’t work in ME3, and most of it is fair and true. The ending is bad. Miserable, really. But it has the skeleton of what could have been a great ending. Cut the game 5-10 minutes shorter, lose the tri-colored beams, and you have a dying Shepard sitting next to his mentor and father figure Anderson, taking that last, long break they have been needing. And right before, in the original ending, your two squad member choices burning into ash from the reaper’s blast. A tragic spin on the choice, for me at least, killing my two favorite characters who I took with me for one last fight. The one time I shouldn’t have.

Gameplay in ME3 has stepped up again. Visuals, animation and writing are at their peak in the third installment - reaching the top of an already tall mountain. The inclusion of multiplayer seemed tacked on when announced, but it was a great time. Shockingly, it still holds up.

But the writing is what rises above all else. A culmination of characters and choices over a 100+ hour trilogy, as a final installment is has the ability to write some final stories. And it does with precision.

Mass Effect is the gold standard for characters in games, and ME3 goes beyond. It is deep, harrowing, funny and ambitious, even if some choices were made with monetization in mind.

I’m wrapping up my final play through of the series right now. This game still rocks.

I only played it after Mass Effect and was surprised how much of ME is already established this game. For me it's the best Star Wars game to date and one of the most interesting settings in that universe. Very cool characters, a combat system to my liking (I'm probably the only one^^) and a really well written story. Probably one of the last good Bioware games before they were only allowed to crap out multiplayer nonsense for EA :/
