do i actually like this game? or have i just stockholm syndromed myself into liking it because im so desperate for pokemon content beyond the anime and twitter fan art lol whatever

played on my iphone with that new emulator because fuck nintendo for not selling this game on the app store. theyre not only evil theyre also stupid lmao

gen 3 really had the peak art design for this series. i hate the faux 3d thing they did on the ds its tacky looking. and i dont have anything to add to the discourse of all those switch games and their complete lack of art design lol
it sucks that gen 2 wasnt remade for this gba era :/

gen 3 does a better job at soft rebooting the series than gen 5 because it doesnt get rid of the old pokemon it creates ones of equal quality alongside the new ones which i respect more. gen 5 had tacky ugly designs and the fact that they had to get rid of the old ones and force players to engage with the new ones is just cowardly.
maybe the gameplay is better and has more gimmicks i wouldnt know. but i dont really care much lol

trade evolutions and version exclusive pokemon are still incredibly stupid game design choices and ill never not fucking hate it.

still dont understand why these games dont have the villain teams taking over the gyms and you have to liberate towns from them? why am i battling civilians its such boring motivation-less low stakes

fuck gens 4-9 for sticking to same battling gameplay schtick. this shouldve been the end of that routine. its so tired and played out and they never surpassed this game anyways.
gen 4 was when the series shouldve truly started to experiment with the gameplay more. they shouldve put their resources into that ranger series or something else. do the ds games even utilize the touch screen really in ways that matter? lol whatever
