this game is such a fucking slam dunk for about 90% of it only to fumble hard during the endgame. still generally enjoyed this one a ton and i hope the series grows from here. sonic is fucking back baby!!

the game is fun sometimes and the music goes hard but it looks so generic and the story and writing is the worst in the entire series

what's lost from original sun & moon's story is made up for with vastly improved gameplay. this has gotta be the most fun ive had with a pokemon game and i think thats partially because i adored alola already.
thanks for giving me quite possibly the easiest way to shiny hunt the alola trio of legendaries because i missed those events.
would be perfect if i wasnt forced to only use pokemon from one of my least favorite regional dexes
I've never played a paper mario game before in my life but man i loved this game. it gave me kinda what i was missing after mario & luigi games stopped existing, even if the combat could be a bit whatever at times. loved the writing, the boss fights and especially the music. kinda was just a real fun adventure game.

This score mostly reflects the single player campaign here, as I haven't had as much experience with the multiplayer yet to comment on it much other than by saying it's still ton of fun, even if weapon loadouts leave a lot to be desired.
The story mode itself was very enjoyable. It felt like octo expansion, though I didn't enjoy it quite as much as that. The presentation for the story itself is like leagues better than before though it's a vast improvement. My only complaints are that exploring the overworld and finding collectibles became really tedious and annoying, and some of the stages blended together far too often. The boss fights were easily the highlight of the campaign. They were far more memorable and enjoyable than almost any boss fight in the previous games.
I really enjoy this game so far and I can tell the future updates will really round this out to be the strongest game in the series. Some of the QOL changes are godly I'm excited to dive more into multiplayer.

wildest donkey kong country game ive played
i adore this game both for its narrative and for what it represents, but man some of the gameplay had me so frustrated.
