Such an improvement on the first Xenoverse. The fighting system is surprisingly deep and enjoyable throughout, with a wide range of abilities for every kind of build. The story is pretty standard but also enjoyable and very nostalgic, especially for someone like me who hasn't engaged with this universe since Tenkaichi 3 and the GT series.
The only downside of the game is the absolute fucking insanity of side content. I didn't even finish all of the Parallel Quests (of which there are over 100), grinding for wishes, Expert Missions, tons of online content and more. It's actually kinda exhausting how much there is to do, and if you wanted to, you could spend hundreds of hours with this game. I'm satisfied with what I saw and did - which is only about 50% of the total completion rate. The difficulty curve for endgame content is absolutely brutal, so I didn't touch too much of that stuff.

Dragon Ball game Devs when I want to play a story mode as Goku and not some guy Goku calls a cool dude

lest goooooooooooooooooooooo finaly game bom de dragonj ball depois de tanto tempo desde lançamnemtnods om goat budokai 3 tenkachi

to muito apaixonado, que jogo bom

An utter mess I really love. Sometimes a game can have repetitive quest design and mediocre combat but be saved by dressing up and doing a Galick Gun. Mods to get rid of RNG rewards help.

haha classic goku just casually messing with the timeline and causing the fall of the united kingdom

I enjoyed it the first time around, completing the main story, doing side quests and other things. But i recently tried to dive back in after playing Fighterz and i just can't get back into it. It's a fine RPG but it's not a good fighting game.

this is basically my childhood dragon ball game, the one i have played the most alongside xenoverse 1 and maybe budokai tenkaichi 3. I really like how tight the gameplay feels, it's not perfect but it's still a pretty decent combat system supported by a lot of different skills you can try, skills which I really didn't dabble into when I played it as a kid (sticking to the classics of course) plus the somewhat mediocre character creation along which comes a pretty insane amount of really cool dragon ball clothing from just about every corner of the show, and to me that's where xenoverse shines. The character creation itself is like, really limited, but i feel it gets pretty well compensated by the abundance of clothing and accesories and skills and just about everything, it's a game that hands itself well to player expression and it's something that I enjoy quite a lot. The story of the game is pretty mid actually, I won't lie, it's worse than xv1 and just basic and uninspired all around, BUT then the extra story released (which is the reason i'm making this review) and after beating all of it and having put about a 100 hours into the game, this is where i draw my big conclusions on the game. It's just, a fun, competent game that holds a special place in my heart, and my love for it has been quite reinforced by the fact that after so many years I was able to come back to it and find great enjoyment in it (as opposed to, idk, being dissapointed that childhood game actually sucked ass) particularly doing a lot of the completionism stuff and trying out all those skills i never tried before and actually trying to make cool builds using unique super souls. The extra story is basically a 100% fix on everything the default story did wrong, it's more enjoyable, more original, has a nice amount of replayability and actually takes proper advantage of the fact that it's a game about travelling time and changing history. It's a game that i feel is worth playing now, and into the future given the new updates coming and the promising direction the game is going into. If you expect me to adress the whole DLC thing, well, it sucks, it's a bad business model that does gatekeep a lot of the cooler content including the extra story, but it's not that bad of a thing anymore, most DLC is fairly old and goes on sale for cheap more often than not, so it's kind of a Payday 2 situation where the amount of DLC might be insulting but the pricing is not horrible so it balances itself out, whatever whatever inserte esqueleto mucho texto

Trillions of microtransactions
Terrible balance
In summary: This game is ridiculous, a 2,5/5
I'll give 4 stars just because i really like dragon ball lol
not recommended at all

What the hell happened to Trunks in Xenoverse 2? How did he become such an incompetent butt-monkey? Seriously, what did they do to my favorite time-traveling Saiyan warrior?

Back in the good old days of the Cell Saga, Trunks was a badass. He sliced through Frieza like a hot knife through butter and took down Imperfect Cell with ease. He was the epitome of cool, with his Super Saiyan swagger and a sword that could cleave through mountains.

But fast forward to Xenoverse 2, and what do we get? A bumbling, useless sidekick who couldn't defeat a Saibaman without tripping over his own feet. I can't help but scratch my head and wonder, did Trunks accidentally stumble into a wormhole that sucked away all his fighting skills?

Jokes aside, it's like he forgot everything he learned from Future Gohan. Instead of being a formidable warrior, he spends most of his time flailing around and relying on the player to save his sorry ass. Talk about a fall from grace.

And don't even get me started on his "role" in the story mode. Trunks, the supposed time-traveling hero, is reduced to nothing more than a glorified errand boy. He runs around collecting Dragon Balls, fixing history, and uttering the same generic lines over and over again. It's like the developers took the Trunks we knew and loved and replaced him with a cardboard cutout.

So, what happened? Did Trunks suffer a severe case of amnesia? Did he accidentally trade his fighting skills for a sense of perpetual clumsiness? I don't know, but whatever the reason, it's a shame to see such a beloved character reduced to comic relief.

yea and the combat is ok

Enfim partindo pra análise, é basicamente quase a mesma história do primeiro que inclusive vou rejogar pra fazer uma review, pois não lembro de nada, continuando aki a gameplay é bem boa, o combate é bem satisfatório é gostosinho fazer combo, pelo menos pra mim, também tem transformações que não tem no 1, sem falar das varias missões paralelas que existem pra você enfrentar diversos inimigos e ter a chance de dropar as skills deles, mas já tem no primeiro também, o que eu sinto jogando esse jogo é que os gráficos ficaram um pouco melhores e só, existe DLCs que expandem o conteúdo do jogo mas é sacanagem pagar 50 conto pra vir 5 missões paralelas e 3 personagens, (e mesmo assim eu comprei);

This game only has value for the roleplaying aspect, which I never even bought it for. Grinding sucks, and the fighting also sucks. And the story. And the balance. And the constant DLC drops. And everything, really. So, at the end of the day, as a Dragon Ball fan, I have to rate this game a perfect 5/5.

It's a masterpiece, a timeless classic, a gem, and worth hundreds of dollars! You cannot call yourself a fan of Dragon Ball if you have not played this game for hundreds of hours, gotten to level 99, and bought AT LEAST half of all the DLC. I will most definitely be buying Xenoverse 3 when it drops on January 2052. As an actual game it gets a two.

This game lets me experience Dragon Peak with my self insert oc and its awesome. However, when you hop online the game become super ass

Fun enough action game that delivers on being the self-insert fanfiction game you wanted as a kid, but doesn't really deliver on its own premise. While xenoverse 2 makes a big deal out of wild changes in history that you need to correct, these changes end up being pretty minor and uninteresting. The majority end up being either "it's the same event..but the villain is stronger so you need to help out" or "it's the same event..but broly/lord slug show up 50 feet away so you have to go fight them while the plot is happening". When you get to an event that could offer a potentially interesting scenario like ginyu swapping with vegeta instead of goku or cooler joining frieza on namek, the game just focuses on the fight and only the fight so you don't really get to see the ramifications of those changes anyways. That aside, making my own cute saiyan girl OC and learning new moves from all the different characters was pretty fun and the combat was solid, if simple.

Xenoverse 2 is a very underwhelming and mediocre sequel to an already ambitious game that left a very soulless impression on me. I played this game's story throughout and it's a literal copy and paste from the first game with like a couple new villains and i think like one or two more levels. The side quests are a lot better in this game and there are a lot more of them and each DLC comes with a nice amount to keep you occupied. The custom character is a cool concept and done pretty well actually in a game like this i can choose what skills i want and learn them and obtain them in fun ways and the customization is very plentiful. The combat isn't very good in my opinion, it can be very stiff and not a lot can be done to make it fun to learn and master. The roster is a lot better this time around and a lot more variety and inclusions of characters to make fans of the series happy with attention to detail. Overall i didn't like it much but it held my attention for like 150-200 hours so theres something enjoyable about it.

the story is just a retread of dragon ball xenoverse 1 for the most part, it's not very interesting. the gameplay is a slight improvement from xenoverse 1 but it's still mediocre at best

For me this is one of those games I pick up every now and then to complete some random quests and dress up my character, try out some new moves, or check out whatever new DLC has come out in the 6 years since it originally launched.

Recently I revisited this on Nintendo Switch while on a trip, and while I’d love a Xenoverse 3 (who wouldn’t, at this point?) the game still offers tons to do. It’s my video game comfort food, for better or worse.

The Nintendo Switch version isn’t as smooth or as nice to look at compared to other platforms, but it plays well and does the job with hardly any issues. Love being able to knock out a few PQs while on a plane or the couch. The new and recent DLC content is also nice for a few extra hours of stuff to do.

If you’re a Dragon Ball fan you already know about this game, but Xenoverse 2 is like one giant “What If” machine that’s constantly spitting out scenarios for you to tackle. A lot of the time it’s “what if character A was way stronger than they were supposed to be at this point in time?” But other times you have cool stuff go down, like Future Gohan teaming up with his dad in hell, or Bardock escaping his timeline to become a brainwashed big bad, stuff like that.

I knocked off a star because the dialogue has a bad habit of misgendering female created characters, though later content seems to default to “they/them” for your CAC, so there’s that.

Pretty fun arena fighter, online sucks really bad though but I play it anyway. Online has some serious connection issues, where your opponent can hit you from extreme distances or you can get sucked into Kamehamehas, or guardbreaks just dont guardbreak when online, and sometimes tech ONLY works online in lag. Really easy to pick up, I learned most of the tech within a day of playing. Modding community is awesome for the PC version of the game.

Woefully unbalanced, anything that isn't a top tier attack with tracking or one of the 30 Kamehameha variants isn't worth using. Yawn
