Got it on PsPlus.
Discovered I'm not really into puzzle games thanks to it.
Cute game with an interesting mechanic anyways

it's a fine puzzle game. lots of the early puzzles are just "oh what if i changed the color so that i can walk through this wall" etc. and are very easy, but the last several are well made and make you think without being overly difficult.

an alarmingly high amount of puzzles in this game have timing based solutions, which is fine for some things, but it just didn't really feel right for me in this game. "oh no the color i have selected makes the platform i'm going to land on disappear! i better change the color!" happens constantly during the midpoint of the game and feels like pointless fluff because all the good puzzles were delegated to the end of the game.

the "story" elements were pretty pointless to me though, and it doesn't really seem like it had a real place in a game like this. the voice acting they had was actually pretty good, and i think the VAs did a very good job with the task they were given, i just didn't care. additionally, the mail dialogue is essentially read to you in a boring pointless hallway that you jump up staircases and climb ladders in the most boring way possible with no interesting platforming whatsoever. i'm pretty sure these sections are just there to fill the whole length of the reading "cutscene" because they always finish right about the time to get to the end of the hallway, but if you want me to care about your story, it should be interesting and not just because it's literally the only thing happening during the game at that point.

fine game, nothing special. not interested in going for 100% because it seems tedious going back through the game without a level select (afaik) just to find hidden collectibles.

Hue is a pleasant little puzzle game. I wasn't expecting it to get so complex near the end.

I loved the game art and the level design, It's pretty cool. It gets waaaay harder than it looks, trust me. The story is okay, kinda cute at the end

I was interested to try Hue because of the art style & challenging puzzle gameplay where you swap colors in platforming lvls to pass obstacles & learn the story via letters found on the way.

Really fun, unique puzzle/platformer!

Neat little game! I actually didn't expect it to be as engaging as it was.

um jogo bem simpático, os puzzles são bem legais de resolver e eles vão ficando bem desafiadores, gostei da mecânica de cores do jogo

This is a great puzzle game. I had a ton of fun with the puzzles. They sometimes felt like they gave the player the chance to beat puzzles in their own way. It felt like there were multiple ways to solve them. The game looked outstanding too. I loved the use of color in it. The music was also good too.

Hue's puzzles are genuinely fun and interesting, but whenever the game tries to be a platformer it fails. The art and music are good. The story is fine although it didn't grab me personally. Most of the narration happens during filler screens with no obstacles which just feels like a timewaster.

If you are in the mood for a colour based indie game with puzzles, story and colorful visuals this is the game for you!
This is the 1st game I beat on my PS Portal and its MEANT BE PLAYED THERE :)

As this game uses the lights on PS Portal , DualShock 4 and DualSense. Looks SO BEAUTIFUL! FANTASTIC use of them perfectly fits the game :D

Puzzle game that can be a bit tricky with the dexterity aspects at times. It was fun. I didn't care for the story interludes where you have to navigate a long, boring level while dialog is read aloud.

Hue is a little game with fun little puzzles, the story is okay.

The puzzles are fun initially, but get too repetitive. Most puzzles consist of pushing boxes to activate buttons or to block lasers.

A nice little puzzler, I think it just falls into the indie trap of making something philosophical which doesn't suit it. A simple story can work fine, but here you get not only 'does everybody see color differently?', but also 'does something exist if you cannot perceive it?' and the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis (oh no!). It's just too much too quickly. But hey, you still get a lot of puzzles.

This is a story of the worst parents of all time.

Puzzles were pretty fun! I'm glad they chose to insert new gameplay elements gradually together with the addition of new colours, otherwise the gameplay would have been incredibly stale. Now, the difficulty increases steadily, providing a nice challenge.

The story is very unnecessary in my opinion, but I would have found it strange if there was none either...So I guess I'm kind of on the fence on that one. Maybe the story could have been made more exciting somehow?

The secrets were the main downside. Having to wait until you have collected certain colours for you to be able to grab them is very annoying, because you cannot skip to puzzles directly. This means you need to go through every puzzle that comes before it, which is just unfun in my opinion.

Hue is a puzzle platformer where by changing the background color of the levels, you reveal or hide level elements of various colors. The color shifting is a clever system, and while I had seen similar concepts before, including some of my own short-lived proofs of concept, I haven't seen it done in a fully fledged game. There are a number of different puzzle elements that work together to make quite complex puzzles. While I wouldn't say the game is difficult, there were definitely some later levels that stumped for a time. The story is only told via letters from the player character's mother, and while I liked the story and the voice acting, it doesn't integrate itself into the gameplay too well. It's a solid game, but rather repetitive. The only progression you get is additional colors to swap to. While the levels do get more difficult, they don't utilize all the colors in tandem. A fun but plain game that was worth the free price.

Hue is a game that drags things on for much too long. The main feature of the game is how you can control colours to complete puzzles, and while this is fun for a little, the game tends to get stale really fast. The puzzles are pretty uninteresting and never really give you that great "aha" feeling that a lot of other great puzzle games do. Most of the time you are left with a feeling of emptiness when beating the puzzle knowing that you have another time-consuming puzzle to complete in order to progress. The game just felt like it was disrespecting my time half the time and the plot isn't even enjoyable. While it only took me 3 1/2 hours to beat Hue, it is something that I would never really go through again. The game is not good, but it's not THAT bad either, it's just pure mind-numbing mid.

Lowkey tho this would be better as a flash game with separate numbered levels and no story. I didn't like it enough to try things several times in a row but I did go back to them later. Looks kind of cool I do like colours. The basic plot is not that dumb, but the way it's presented is like... they try to fill the space with very im14andthisisdeep lines like... you could have just not said anything.

Oh and the collectibles are stupid a number of them are like "hey be sure to remember to come back to this level that has no identification and you can't come directly back to, once you've got the yellow"

Great puzzles and concept! a really well polished experience.

Fun and unique puzzle designs, and the colors really POP! It's absolutely serene to play this while watching a happy movie or two.

I got the game for free when it was on sale and I love it. the game isn't that complicated and it's enjoyable. the story is fine id say. This game is great to play when you're burned out from playing the same open-world game.

Hue - A Review

Ah, little Hue.
This is a simple little puzzle game with a whimsical narrative to follow, visually pleasing with a gentle sound - it’s relaxing. The puzzle pieces present are simple, not quite complex to follow but enough to keep you engaged. It’s cute! Though, I do believe there's potential to improve the narrative that's being told, since by design, the limit for creativity is boundless here. So, it's slightly disappointing to meet with a story that doesn't go the extra mile!

In a dark world, we could use some simple color, but maybe also a little more.

The premise of Hue is simple enough: use colors to solve puzzles. It is a good mix of some mild platforming and some mild to medium puzzling. A lovely artistic style would be necessary for a game about colors and this particular game about colors delivers a solid aesthetic. It is cartoony but not cartoonish, cute but not cutesy, and simple but not simplistic. Visually, it is crafted well.

As I played through, I started off thinking this game was great and was going to land in a solid 4-star review, but as I progressed I found myself wanting to just get through it. It started feeling repetitive. The puzzles varied, but maybe weren't challenging enough? I did watch a video or two for the last couple, but most could be figured out without too much difficulty. Adding new colors and features was a nice progression, so I don't think it was only the puzzles. After some reflection, I think the music made the puzzles feel more repetitive than they actually are. Each music choice appears to be on about a ten-second loop. Maybe they were royalty-free loops the devs got for cheap and decided just to play to death, but I found myself playing without sound for some time, particularly when staring at a puzzle for several minutes making my plan of attack.

Slightly spoilery bit: I think the mom was a student when she fell in love with her professor? That made me feel a little weird despite the calming British accent the story was told in. Maybe they were both professors? It does say that he's not much older than her, but still... it feels weird and weirdly specific. Anyways...

A pretty and fun little game to play during some dark times while we work on how to get out of them.

Review from thedonproject.com

I played this game over the span of 4 months.
I felt that the game dragged on for too long, but maybe it was because some puzzles were stupid.
Good soundtrack and beautiful art style.

This can be a fun puzzle time when you're not getting screwed by the analog deciding you're slightly off mid-jump when picking your next color to change to, resulting in you plummeting to your death and having to restart a puzzle again. I don't know how they could have implemented a better selection system for picking your colors, but the number of times I died to "you weren't close enough to the color" or "how about this color instead?" was enough to be off-putting.

Gostei bastante, apesar de ter muitos defeitos.
