um dos unicos cds de play2 que não consegui trocar filho da puta, nunca consegui passar do começo desse jogo

Pretty fun in the beat em up parts but the stealth Banner parts were a good idea executed not the best.

I played this on the GBA but there's no option for it. The game was trash but you have to make do when you only get one new game a year as a kid.

Somehow I missed this game when I was going through 2003. Weird.

Either way, honestly kinda fun. I know the movie was not super well-liked, but this was a decent time. I recommend using the cheats, though; they make those awful Bruce Banner segments a tad easier...just a tad.

From the developers of Mario is Missing!, Hulk, based on the 2003 film, is a frustrating beat-em-up/stealth game in which...well, I don't actually know. I wasn't paying attention.

There's two types of levels, beat-em-up levels where you play as the Hulk, and stealth levels where you play as Bruce.
The Hulk beat-em-up levels are fine, although some mechanics are made incredibly difficult to pull off - like you have to throw objects in order to switch off a shield but you can't throw objects because other enemies can hit you and make you drop objects.
Plus, the game gives you a choice to "fight or flee" but throws a ton of enemies in front of you that will kill you if you try to flee so there's not much choice..
The Hulk in the movie doesn't even kill people. He actively tries not to.

Bruce's stealth levels suck but that's because I hate stealth levels.
Even though you're given a fight button to beat up enemies if you're caught it doesn't do anything because enemies will move away from you as you walk towards them and then punt you as soon as you try to land a punch. And that's if you're invincible.

The game suffered from the same issue I had with my Knight Rider games in that something I have to do to proceed is broken.
The walkthrough says I have to jump as Bruce during the stealth section but there's no jump button. I hit every button, and restarted the level.
Nothing.

I wanted to finish this game but I can't, I really can't.
Disappointing.
And I'm pissed off.

I like the story mode. the cheats made it fun and easy. for a tie in movie game. its not bad. not the best but not the worst.

Eres Hulk pero casi no rompes cosas ;-;

loved jumping aroudn the map as a kid

A cor desse hulk era muito estranha! Mas, o jogo tinha uma gameplay bem criativa e divertida. Na época, travei na parte de se infiltrar no laboratório, então ainda pretendo zerar.

Don't care what anybody says, Hulk for the PS2 was fire. Throwing innocent civilians with families to tend to into the ocean, watching them slowly drown, was a blast.

I give Hulk a strong 6!

There are stealth sections in a Hulk game and it's a tie-in, what else do you need to say.

Fun game, this was a game I couldn't get far in as a kid due to the puzzle in the first Banner level aand I kinda found it disapointing to play as Banner so soon after how satisfying it felt to play as Hulk. As a result I'd just play that first level over and over again to have fun until I got bored of it, so I still have fond memories of the game.

I like Hulk (2003) the movie, it's not the best and it's got some boring parts but it's definitely a well made movie with a lot of passion put into it...from a filmmaking standpoint, I'd say it's excellent...I suppose Ang Lee isn't famous for nothing...even if I'm not a huge fan, there's a lot of things I like about the movie as it's a good watch once in a long while....

Those feelings extend to the game too, well game is more fun cuz its fun to play as the Hulk lol but Banner segments are pretty alright too...but sadly this game has it's issues with the emulation, as lines longer than 10 seconds cut off (but you really miss nothing as all the story is in the FMVs and those aren't effected) buuut it also turns an autojump off in the second Banner level and...while this can happen on hardware too that fixes itself...here it doesn't sooooo I had to use a Level skip code and watch the level on YouTube...how fun...oh well, I'm not a huge fan of these and it don't seem like the best level ever anyway.

On PC port, this can be fixed by simply setting it to 60FPS tho as with many old PC ports, it can take some tinkering to run.
Game needs a widescreen exe if you wanna make it work that way....aand maybe make sure your drivers are updated cuz I got a friend who had an issue with that lol. PC Gaming Wiki is your friend.

I find it interesting that they put in Banner levels at all, it's a cool way to add variety....and might as well make use of that Eric Bana money, huh? lol

I also really appreciate they bothered to make this a sequel cuz let's face it...there's no way in hell we'd get anything even close to it if it wasn't literally made simultaneously alongside the movie with developers literally on the set.

Much like the movie, I can see a lot of passion went into this game...even if it falls short on some aspects, it's a fun that's worth remembering, as such the Ang Lee Hulk universe, is a flawed yet fun version to come back to every now and then....don't expect that Gamma Kingdom to be followed upon tho lol

I like that most bosses are Hulk-like and I really like Halflife lol, Nosferatu Valve name stealing fuck

FUCK THOSE STUNLOCKING ENEMIES THO god talk about bad design...I guess they put you in the non-existent shoes (or shorts?....ew) of the Hulk all the way, INCLUDING PISSING YOU OFF AT TIMES. Atleast you can easily counter the smurf fuckers with jump punching tho..I also dunno how to feel about the being able to run past everyone design in a Hulk game where you're supposed to beat 'em up...but hey it saves me a lot of headache so...thanks for that lol, I still played legitmately as much as I could tho

I'm glad to finally play this all the way and see what's it about...20 levels tho, this game is pretty short lol
I played this on Dolphin as no way I'm fucking with that PC port now...PCSX2 also seems to have lines cut off but far later? I didn't realize that difference but yeah...I have no clue how does Cxbx or Xemu fare with this game tho...I hope atleast the emulation issues get fixed someday...man....

Oh yeah, challenges are fun, I only cared to try Hulk Smash! but it was fun...I really like the inclusion of Gray Hulk lol, his lines are pretty cool

My first game of the year is a real Hulk-out! lol

Só desisti porque o jogo simplesmente bugou em uma missão, não me deixando concluí-la. Senão, eu me torturava até o final do jogo.

Hulk is a movie tie-in game released in 2003 and is a somewhat loose sequel to the events that happened in the film. The gameplay is split into two different styles. The Bruce Banner levels which are all about stealth, skillfully disposing of enemies and flipping switches/ putting codes into computers to access certain objectives for that level,

The other half of the game is split playing as the Hulk, where you are mowing down waves of soldiers, gamma dogs, gamma soldiers and robots in largely destructible environments 3d beat em up style. When the game first begins, these are the fun levels (obviously) however, over the course of the 33 levels in this game you begin to beg for banner levels to break up the monotony of the hulk stages.

The longer you play this game, the more the problems show their ugly head and man is there some big problems. Most of the game’s woes can be broken down to three major issues.

Problem#1: The lack of any defensive mechanics for hulk to use.

- There is no guard button in this game, which may not seem like a major issue but because of how many enemies fill the screen in later levels you begin to take 50-60% damage in levels that inhabit small corridors. You begin to take this crazy damage not only because the developers didn't give us a defense mechanism against it but ALSO due to:

Problem #2: The Camera

-The game uses a fixed camera angle that switches when you enter certain sections of the level. This constant switching between camera angles when combined with some of the smaller levels in the game (which in a game with 33 of them, you encounter them frequently) gets you absolutely ATE UP by the opposition. Missiles that hit you because u simply cannot see where they are coming from, mutant dogs that bite you because just like the missiles, you ALSO can’t see them; attacking an enemy and in mid combo there's a quick camera switch that accidentally leaves you open for attacks you can’t avoid. Just annoying inconveniences that add up over time. If only there was a Lock-On system for us to see who we're fighting!

Problem #3: The targeting system and other mechanics.

- In the very first mission of the game we are introduced to many mechanics that we will use as the hulk later. The two main mechanics I want to focus on are the lock on system and the POWER MOVES. Let’s start with the lock on system. Holding the right trigger allows you to hone in on enemies and on objects, u can switch between them using the c stick. This mechanic on paper seems fine but in practice, it sucks, this just flat out sucks. You could be facing your opponent and holding the r button could lock you on to an object on the other side of the screen. It never seems like it works properly, it never locks on to what you want it to lock on. This dilemma gets even WORSE the more baddies that fill up the screen and let me tell you in some of these later levels you go through a GAUNTLET of enemies.

Next the POWER MOVES! Holding the punch button charges up a stronger punch, holding the special attack button charges hulks thunderclap. During a jump the charge punch remains the same, but the special attack fully charged is a stomp. These WOULD be nice little additions to the combat to break up the tedious combat I mentioned awhile back, only that you never use them. Charging your moves leaves you open to attacks from your opponents, especially in air. Even in the early stages of the game you will be interrupted and encouraged NOT to use it. The only power move worth a damn is the thunderclap (and even that has its limits). I honestly rarely used any of these mechanics, the lock on mechanic was only helpful for the Ravage and The Leader boss fights, the power moves outside of the thunderclaps actually NEVER got used after the first 40 mins of the game.

While these are what i believe to be the three biggest issues, there are more minor ones. The difficulty curve ramps up quickly as a way to pad out game time. I found the Banner pass-code sections to be quite annoying albeit they are short. The soundtrack is quite weak as well.

I just went through a myriad of things i don't like about the game, is there anything positive to say? Yes actually!

As a Hulk fan i was delighted to see his villains get their shine in this game, Hulk doesn't have the most notable villains outside of the leader and abomination so to see the likes of Madman, Flux, General Ryker and others really made me smile. The voice acting is also top notch. Although i have problems with the gameplay i cannot understate how much extra content is in this game. A destruction mode, two different time attack modes, two different enemy survival modes, cheat codes so you can replay the story a different way, bonus videos/art and the making of the game. This is really a nice package for 2003!

Overall it was a very mediocre experience but i didnt feel like my time was completely wasted playing this game.

The portions where you play as the Hulk are fun for a bit, but forced stealth sections are the worst.

HULK SMASH !!! The best Hulk game with super combat and bosses.

Booted this up out of curiosity because I played this game at a friend's house a long time ago and wanted to refresh my very light memories of this experience.

Needless to say this game sucks; a bland movie tie-in with a couple decent ideas, but ultimately exists as a mindless button-masher that succeeds on being fun in the first mission and exists as an absolute slog for every level after. Stale puzzles, clunky movement, combat that rewards combos but can't string actual combos, etc. Thankfully, the game has lots of cheats which makes seeing the ending and exploring what levels you want a total breeze.

this game did not deserve a metroid escape sequence

Je hais les phases avec banner.

I feel like making a game based off a Hulk movie where one of the big set pieces is fighting some dogs is a bad choice
