mediocre BUT has a certain charm, and i played it for like, 2 weeks straight, so it must be alright. music is good. pretty colours.

It's a fun arcade racer, but not having an online multiplayer mode is a huge letdown.

Looks good, sounds bad, doesn't feel like racing and doesn't scratch the Outrun itch. Also there's a Mario Kart style turbo start but using it throws you straight into the back of another car and slows you to a crawl. Daft.

This was a surprise for the Playstation Plus game selection, but boy is this game a fun edition! Racing games aren't something I'm rightly fond of. There is just something about them that makes me not want to get them outright, but I actually really like playing them. Horizon Turbo also helps me want to play it by it's stylish graphics and simple gameplay. It's surprisingly addictive and rewarding to playthrough, although the campaign is a little too long and repetitive.

Easy to pick up and just get driving without having to think about external systems or whatnot. That shouldn't be as big of a selling point as it is for me, but here we are.

Utterly mediocre arcade driving game.

What started off as a cool Outrun-style arcade racer with gorgeous retro graphics incredibly quickly turned into a tedious and frustrating experience with cheap AI and lackluster track design. The game is designed to replay tracks over and over again until you basically perform a flawless race. There is no catching up to the leader if you bump into another car or the scenery (which is sometimes on the track!). The other racers go out of their way so that you bump into them and sometimes they'll just appear out of nowhere when you're coming out of a tight corner or on a downhill part of the track. And there's 19 opponents in every race.

And you HAVE to replay races to get better results because progress is otherwise locked. I unlocked several cars and upgrades and none of them improved my performance in any way. The cars all drive the same and the upgrades are worthless, from what I can tell. Also, you can run out of fuel! Your car just slows down and stops on the track. And that's it.

Horizon Chase Turbo is a prime example of why arcades sucked and why that cheap-ass model died a horrible, deserving death.

Horizon Chase Turbo delivers a great sense of speed and control. You're going fast enough that you could get off the rails at any moment, but you never do, as long as you learn the ropes around it, especially how to make curves. There are a few neat tricks to learn too, like making use of someone bumping you to get a boost.

The one thing though, is that a few cars seem too overpowered, especially Minuano and Dustdriver. I thought it might be the handling that's just too good of a stat, but it seems like specific cars are just better to control and usually will make races far easier than others, even if they aren't as fast as other cars.

Kind of a time waster, but a fun time waster! Controls well and the maps are fun enough. Too repetitive for my taste though. Enjoyed it for what it was.

i dropped it after 5 hours of gameplay, so i would recommend waiting for a sail. it's fun for a little while but than you reach a wall, and improving can feel impossible. it's too frustrating.

gameplay gets a 2.

I can't put my finger on why exactly, but this game feels so much like a mobile game that I was surprised it didn't start there. It really doesn't play much like a racing game at all, and I'm not sure why that is.

None of this is to say it isn't fun (it really is) and the extreme simplicity of both the gameplay and the presentation makes it quite addictive. It becomes a significant challenge very quickly in the campaign mode. This means replaying races many, many times to shave off less than a second with each successive run, but the races are over in just a few minutes, so I don't mind at all.

The visuals and in-game graphics are the best part of the package. It reminds me a bit of the early 2000s Capcom racer Auto Modellista, but that game tried to straddle the line between arcade racer and simulation and didn't satisfy fans of either; Horizon Chase Turbo could not be any further from a simulation game, yet doesn't feel substantial enough to be an arcade racer either.

The game is a lot of fun, but if you're looking for an experience reminiscent of the games this one is purportedly based on—Outrun, Top Gear—or something more similar to modern arcade-style racers like Burnout, I would look elsewhere. This one really plays like something else entirely.

It gets annoying pretty quickly, just play Outrun instead

bao viu

se tivesse modo online hein hummmmmmmmmmmm

Pretty good racer, mastering it did take quite some time and caused a bit of rage. But in the end I did it and I enjoyed a lot of it. Though it is pretty bland...

A good game, a top gear spiritual successor

Doesn't even work. Shit game.

Eu amava jogar ele junto com meu primo.
E o game também é brasileiro🇧🇷

I immediately remember the old arcade races on old consoles when I first started the game. A very pleasant shell hides the eternal monotonous gameplay of this game and what infuriates us most is the terribly developed car collision mechanics. But even with such a drawback, the game attracted the world tour for 6 hours and fans of multiplayer or local skating will enjoy this game more.
