Si on peut désespérer des fictions qui sous-tendent nos sociétés, faut-il pour autant désespérer des gens ?

Think Kentucky Route Zero with more linear storytelling and a pleasing line in Industrial SF/Southern Gothic ambience. It's quite a reasonable length as well.

Fascinating game. Really loved the surrealist style and atmosphere, though I recognize I'm not the type of player to invest enough into the literary nature of the game to fully appreciate it.

what an odd little game. Took me a little while to get into the flow of the story but was hooked once it did.

Oh, santa narrativa.

I loved the art and the writing was great, the story just didn't really click with me. Although I do recognize it's uniqueness and it was good. What starts off as a challenge of capitalism turns into a challenge of faith, and a love letter to the lower half of Louisiana. Pointing out how little time the area really has with all the natural damage that has been done to it.

Una aventura gráfica que recuerda mucho a Kentucky Route Zero. Tiene un mejor ritmo y mayor interés que la obra de Cardboard Computer, pero no se queda tanto en la memoría. Magnífica traducción.

If you even slightly like point n click as a genre of gaming, you should look into this one. Norco wasn't what I expected it to be at any point - and that was the best part.

Shelved for now. There's some really good writing and interesting themes here mixed in with some silly humor. Should go back and see how the story wraps up sometime.

Been following the lead developer for a while now and have always thoroughly enjoyed their art style, so I had been anticipating this release for a good while. This game really got to me - I did not expect to be so emotionally affected by the story. Poetic, truthful, pensive.

I think the overall narrative could be tighter, there are a few loose ends and neglected subplots throughout the game, plus the combat could be more fully realized. But overall I feel like I really took something away from this game, so I think in the end the developers did their job well enough.

I also listen to this game's soundtrack all the time now. It really latches on to you.

Really enjoyed this experience for the most part. Story gets a bit too out there for my taste, so much so that by the end I was just not caring, but absolutely loved the gameplay and presented aesthetic. Would love to find similar games like it.

Pretty fantastic art direction and world building, and genuinely funny dialogue for a video game. The basic ending is extremely unsatisfying, I wish it didn't hide the good ending behind an obscure puzzle that is so easy to miss. After so much great build up leading into the home stretch, I was left wanting so much more, but not in the "mystery that sparks your imagination" way, or the "cool setup to a possible sequel" way.

The visual style, setting, and writing are impeccable. I found the gameplay frustrating at times, which held this back from reaching Kentucky Route Zero level for me. But if you're into this type of thing in the slightest then you'll love this title.

wow that was a very effectively crafted nightmare

Gorgeous art, great sound, interesting story, fun plotting, beaaautiful prose. Gotta say, though, the ending…. Kind of lost me.

What if Kentucky Route Zero had a monkey?

Pawpaw rocks. The dual narratives are perfectly entwined. The unique rhythmic dialogue "voices" is top notch.

Really good game,my main problem with it is that it feels incomplete,we are introduced to a lot of characters but most of them dont have enough screentime to leave an long lasting impresion and the story just feels kinda unambitious

Beautiful art, beautiful music, brilliant writing. Kentucky Route Zero-like to an extent but has its own tone and feels more aligned with classic point-and-click games. One of the best games of the year.

This game was sick. It required such little player input, I just taped a pill bottle to the X button on the controller and it freakin played itself, dude. Meanwhile the game got me WAY into wanting to be a backwaters, oppressed, hitchhiking hipster. Gnarly experience playing as a black in this, too, seeing as how IRL, I’m a white, You never really know somebody else’s stuff, you know, til you walk a mile in their walking simulator. This wasnt one of those thank God. But it FELT like one, And thats what this games about, man. Feels. It even uses that word in the game. Its rly up w how the youth speak, dude. Game of the year, bro.

Fuck Big Oil!!! Hell, I never really cared about any cause, bro. I think this game really rubbed off on me….woah.

Too gothic for my taste, plus I don't even like sci-fi that much.

90% - Norco is a joy to explore, accompanied by a great soundtrack, interesting characters and a great understanding of where to draw the line. If you like games like this, check it out.

A solid first act, followed by a captivated act two, only for it falter slightly in its very final moments. The game is beautiful and profound in many ways, but also struggles to provide meaningful connection to its main character, Kay. Ultimately, it causes the ending to fall flat, which is a shame, because everything leading up to it was rich in atmosphere and mood.

An original and affecting story about memory, class and family set in a rich and unique world. The point and click gameplay is more than just a way of showcasing the pixel art - it immerses you in the games early 90s retrofuturism. Like Inscryption this game is in conversation with the very idea of retro tech (though in a more understated way). Where other retro indies make a nostalgic fetish of their throwback style and mechanics these two games are totally alive to the fact that playing a point and click in 2023 can never be the same as playing one in 1993 and they exploit that gap to aesthetic ends. An exciting turn in video games.

Nice game with interesting story and very beautiful pixel art! It reminds me of Kentucky Road Zero sometimes and that's cool
A little too short for me tho, I would like to see a bit more of the story and characters !

A game about abandoning your home, returning, and saving what matters most. I loved this game, it made me laugh and it made me cry.

One of the most beautiful games I've ever played. Great humor, extremely well-written, very knowledgeable on fringe internet communities without coming across as preachy or annoying. One of those games (or books) where you just feel "this guy gets it." I mention books because this could be a novel (or short story) and really hold its own, which is something you can't say for the writing in most games. That's not to say the beautiful pixel art doesn't add a ton to the game. Great characters, great plot. Melancholic humanism at its finest.

Norco features an engaging story and is filled to the brim with secrets and fun characters. I think the story got a little scattered and hard to follow as the game pulled the pieces in for the finale. I am not sure how many endings there are but the driving force of the game was seemingly unresolved at the end for me. The few non point-and-click aspects of the game were few and far enough between to be fresh and inventive. Would recommend this to any narrative style adventure game enthusiasts. Beat in just under 5 hours in one sitting, thanks again GamePass.
