Play Rayman Redemption which is this game but a million times more polished

So nostalgic, so can't remember it well.

This is the first video game I remember playing. I recently picked it up again and realized I never made it past the second level when I was young. Definitely not the easiest game.

great platformer but god damn the 100% requirement is total dogshit

tried to play this a few times, but it's too damn tanky and brutally difficult for my taste

Insanely difficult game. Apparently it had no playtesting: I believe it.

Adore the Rayboy, but the difficulty spike in this one... jesus. Play Rayman Redemption if you don't want to endure that kind of pain. Regarding the rest tho, it's iconic.

The original Dark Souls of video games

Played this quite a bit as a kid, although I never finished it because it became too difficult for me. I'll probably finish it someday. ^^'

yea so basically this game tricks U in the first world making you think its just gonna be a fun little 2d sidescroller then it kicks your ass & proceeds 2 start curbstomping your head in while ur down w/ some of the most bullshit levels any human has ever conceptualized and you have to 100% it to beat it fuck this game

I remember renting this game and thinking it was the coolest thing ever

Nails. I don't know how anyone ever got through this without 99 lives and a plethora of cheats. I've only played briefly as an adult but remember as a child getting really stuck in the mid game with the complexity and unforgiving nature of the platforming.

Its one of the first games I watched my mum play and will always have a lasting impression on me, so my review may be more favourable because of that.

Intend to one day go back and see if it's completable or not for me.

I recommend playing the Nintendo DSi version as your first experience with Rayman 1, as it adds several features to ease the OG's infamous difficulty (more health, level map on the bottom screen, keep blue balls after death). Not that it won't still kick your ass, and you'll still need a guide to find all the cages.

Sound quality obviously takes a hit (SFX are kinda loud over the BGM) and lighting effects are non-existent, but the core of the great graphics and music remain.

O haces trampa. O lo ves de Illojuan como yo

This is one of those games where you can tell the devs put a lot of effort into it but gosh why is it so unnecessarily hard? Not in an actually fun learning to get better kind of way. Just in a feels downright unfair kind of way.

Fun game, with a presentation that is overall better than the GBA version. The framerate however is quite slow on the PAL version unfortunately.

Cute game with cute story and decent gameplay.

I once rented Ridge Racer Type 4 from Blockbuster and when I got home they'd accidentally put the disc for Rayman in the box and my mum wouldn't drive me back to exchange it and told me to just play Rayman and I don't think Rayman is very good honestly so that was not a good time for me.
