honestly speaking, the only problems that this game has can be attributed to hardware limitations. Other than the poor crowd density/draw distance and lack of a second analog stick, this game actually surpasses its big-daddy console predecessor, mainly in terms of progression. The shorter runtime and linear structure yields a much tighter gameplay loop that honestly doesnt really get boring. Overall, it's a good enough game stuck on limited hardware.

A game that is basically Assassin's Creed 1.5, but crammed onto a PSP, the story is entertaining enough, and the missions varied in it's short runtime that it doesn't overstay it's welcome

This game, like the other portable spin-off of the first game, is undoubtedly very limited by its status and platform capabilities. It also has terrible mechanics of movement, monotonous quests (not only secondary, but also main ones in the end) and a partly secondary story. It is also in a minimally acceptable release state, as if it was thrown out almost immediately after work on the vital elements was completed. And at times in the cutscenes it was hard to understand whether everything that was happening was really so funny and ridiculous or whether it was a great joke and everything was really intended to be that way.

Don't get me wrong - this is still a mediocre, even bad product. But this game is at least completely playable (almost) without much pointless effort or tantrums. And this already makes Bloodlines a big step forward compared to the disgusting DS version. And this is at least something.

My first assassins creed, played it a lot on the PSP. Gets loads of points due to nostalgia and as a kid i couldn't get enough of this game!

Pretty cool that they got this game working on the psp, but it just isn't very fun. It plays very similarly to Assassin's Creed 1, but without the great environments that game had. I found that you can just run past enemies in almost of the levels instead of engage with the stealth. Guards will attack you on sight if you run around and it gets really fucking annoying. Luckily, the game is short and took me less than 4 hours, although I skipped much of the side content after sequence 2. It doesn't add anything to the overall story either. Despite not being that bad, it's not really worth playing.

Absolutely not remarkable mechanically, but it does some really nice things with it's writing. Darby remains the GOAT.

I must've finished this game more than 10 times. I don't remember the story.

How Long To Beat me mintió.

A quaint conversion of Assassin's Creed to the PSP. Segmenting a big open world into smaller, more contained districts is actually pretty smart, and doesn't really compromise the game's structure. Altair controls like he's desperately holding on until he can find a restroom to relieve himself in, but I'd say that captures the spirit of Assassin's Creed 1's controls pretty well.

Now, I get bonuses in AC2 for playing this game, let's see what those are...hoooooooly shiiiiiiiiiiit

This is the AC that I played first. It's basically AC 1 but portable

This was my first AC and it's very much fine. It's also the kind of "fine" whose cast shadow reads "unmemorable". A neat PSP conversion of the series' main mechanics but, ironically, I figure it only works before you've played AC1.

What the original game should've been, with the appropriate adjustment to the budget.

First of all, it's pretty incredible how they were able to fit the full-blown Assassin's Creed experience into a PSP game. The only compromises here are those of graphics and scale. Other than that, it plays almost identically.

But practically all the problems I had with the original are addressed here (as much as you can do without altering the core gameplay of course).

The boring tutorials, modern-day sections and unskippable cutscenes are gone. Nothing breaks up the game flow or ruins the immersion any more.

It's still not a stealth game, but at least it doesn't pretend to be one, getting rid of some unnecessary mechanics. More emphasis is made on combat, which, while still mostly boring, at least they don't take away your skills and weapons. You end up mostly relying on counter-attacks, which are satisfying, but can get tedious, especially as any fight can chain-link into several others. It can also be frustrating how after a successful counter-attack kill your character will disengage and just stand there to receive a hit. And trying to do something immediately might resolve in him just striking air. But I think this problem existed in the original game too.

The biggest and most important difference is how side-quests are no longer mandatory, but now there's an actual motivation to do them. They generate you profits which can then be spent on upgrades, which is yet another incentive to keep playing. These upgrades can make the gameplay much less frustrating too simply by making it easier, either through extra abilities, like auto-blocking or increased health.

Unlike the original Assassin's Creed, Bloodlines lets you just do what it was advertised to do: let you kill people as a badass assassin in Crusader states. It's still not a deep or complex game by any stretch of imagination. In fact, it's not really very fun either. But it won't stand in your way and make things difficult for you like the original did. And seeing how this is an open-world game for PSP with pretty impressive graphics, I had to add an extra half-star just for that. Still from the gameplay perspective it does not really compare to the Tenchu and Shinobido games.

It was kinda rough but I also just kinda wanted to experience an AC game and it did the job at the time

Taken straight from the journal.

Now to share my final thoughts. It was very visible that this game was a spinoff but it was enjoyable regardless. It had a good story but bad and repetitive gameplay in a lot of places. The story was a nice proper continuation on AC1 tho which was very cool. The ending of the game was a lot more abrupt than I would've liked and they could've done. They also didn't do anything with Desmond during this game at all and it was purely focused on Altaïr. Overall I'll probably give this game 2 stars.

I do not remember this game but I liked revisiting Altair

An age old tale of "just because you can, doesn't mean you should."

So I'm gonna come clean here, I didn't actually finish this game, despite it being very short. This is because the game is just insanely boring and repetitive and my sole reasoning for playing it is just the story. I was bored out of my mind so I decided to just stop playing about 3/4ths through and just look up the story summary instead.

AC Bloodlines is very admirable in how well it tries to recreate AC1 onto the PSP, but it just takes away any soul or life from it. Climbing is no longer fun because of the shoddy controls/camera, and buildings are WAY less complex and interesting to maneuver. The open world is so barren and empty you'd think it was an abandoned city, Cyprus has no personality or life whatsoever.

This game also has a large focus on combat, the worst aspect of AC1, and manages to make it even worse. Combat in this game is just about one of the most dull things on the PSP. You just attack or counter and viola you get to watch the same kill animation you've already seen 2,000 times. The stealth is also just terribly boring.

The voice acting is decent enough but honestly the story is extremely simple and boring to the point where I just don't really care about it, and this is coming from Altair's #1 fan.

Bloodlines isn't offensively bad by any means but it's just simply obsolete. There is no reason to ever play this, it's just a major downgrade from AC1 and the story isn't interesting enough to justify a play-through, that is all.

This game fucking blows dick. I don't even know where to begin. The game is ugly as sin, and I know it's on psp, but even for the psp, it's still god damn ugly. It's not even the textures being blurry, but it has the early ps3 era style where everything is green and brown. textures are constantly flickering, and i played this on the native hardware. The music is . The game play is pure filth. Im convinced a developer is trapped in the game just intentionally fucking your camera over. It glitches into walls constantly and just faces towards them. Altair consistently just bugs out while platforming and sometimes falling into walls and through stuff. combat is also buggy. Sometimes your sword will just go through the enemy and never hit them. The boss fights start off kinda fun but progressively getting more unfun. The ai is shit and they all do the same thing where you counter, and one other person will try to hit you immediately after the counter 100% of the time. Overall a buggy unfun mess that sits in the psp library along with all the other psp-ified games that were originally console games. Video games like mgs peace walker, kh birth by sleep, little big planet, gta and the list could go on. All the versions of these games on the psp suck besides birth by sleep which is actually alright.

A version of the first AC game for Playstation Portable, not totally a good game, with several problems and poor graphics did not help it for sure. However not a complete disaster, playable, Ubisoft could do better.
