Second playthrough: super fun game about movement, I love how depending on whatever power you've chosen the levels play out differently.

Disc room is one of the most frustrating games i've ever played. The level design can either be very fun and clever or straight up bullshit. Just like the levels the gameplay can either be super fun and challenging or so challenging it makes you wanna eat a microwave. It's incredibly inconsistent which is why I only gave it a 5/10.

Reviewing every game i've fully completed #25

A few unfair levels and quite a bit of RNG reliance but even then this game is still amazing

El que todo pueda matarte, y que se reinicie tan rápido, hace que sea muy dinámico y divertido.

petit jeu arcade avec du challenge c'est fun, le but c'est d'eviter des scies dans des salles fermées, et y'a des objectifs, c'est cool

A game with a very simple premise: just stay alive for a few seconds and don't get hit by the discs.

Despite that, the game executes everything very well. The art style is incredible; everything is very fluid and quite creative.

There are various types of discs, and the game is genuinely challenging (but if you want something more casual, it offers the possibility to modify some things to make the game easier). It has a good variety of maps and challenges and didn't present any issues while I was playing.

There are 6 powers to help you in some way, extra rooms, some really interesting puzzles, and the story is intriguing even though it's a bit subjective and abstract in some ways.

I found it to be a great game, quite short, very fun, and very well made.

Still need to complete all the rooms but it’s pretty hard at points! Very fun

If you want a more accessible bullet-hell title, then Disc Room could potentially be for you.
Disc Room throws you into tiny arenas with one goal, survive without touching anything pointy. It sounds simple, until the discs gain new abilities and throw you through the wringer. Then you gain new abilities to counter their abilities!

Some things to keep in mind:
- Disc patterns can be pretty RNG-y.
- This game has difficulty assist settings. If you're having trouble (especially on "Lobotomy", or with unlocking stuff), give them a try.
- The main game is rather short, roughly 2-3 hours. (perhaps less if you're very familiar with the genre)
- Use the slowdown ability in the East Zone. You'll thank me later.
- Wish to 200% the game? Hopefully you have a lot of patience.
- 300%??! uhhhh... good luck.

Broken medal - 0.5 or 1 star - Technical disaster or bad design
Bronze medal - 1.5 or 2 star or 2.5 star - The games not for me/below average/badly aged(nostalgia)
Silver medal - 3 star or 3.5 star - Doing well
Golden medal - 4 star - Above average games
Platin medal - 4.5 star - Might've masterpiece but somethings missing
Diamond medal - 5 star - The Masterpiece or just special for me

fun fact: this game takes place 69 years before the clock of your device
another fun fact: this game is fucking masochistic

It's fun, but can get frustrating.

Terminei minha jornada faltando algumas salas secretas e sem visitar o hard porque o normal já está no máximo da dificuldade que eu consigo lidar sem começar a me frustrar.

Dito isso, ótimo bullet hell com puzzles interessantes.

really fun and quick boss rush-type game that actually makes you feel accomplished for surviving like 4 seconds

Most rage inducing game I played all year. Had I went for 100%, I'd need a new monitor.

It seems so simple—just dodge discs—but it makes you really understand and appreciate how long each second is, especially in hard mode.

simples, difícil e viciante.

A fun, short game that takes a pacifist approach to gameplay, where the whole point is to avoid deadly discs bouncing around each room. Some of the progression solutions and secrets can be a bit too mind bendy for the average gamer though.

The gameplay is simple, dodge the discs! Each room is simple and probably won't take you more than 10 or so seconds each round. The game becomes more interesting as you progress as you will encounter crazier discs and start unlocking cool abilities to help you stay alive longer.

Some times to progress though, you need to think a little outside the box as to what the game wants you to do to unlock certain rooms. This can be really fun at first! I played the majority of the game figuring out things on my own and it was satisfying.

However, there are some things you need to do in the game that just seem kind of ridiculous to figure out on your own. As in, after reading a guide after not being able to figure out how to get further I thought "how in the hell would I have figured that out on my own?"

This can be a bit frustrating and it gets even more deep when you're trying to find the secrets, which to me, some of the solutions are just arbitrary.

That said though, the core of the game is a ton of fun and most of the secret finding was a blast. I just wish the final bits weren't so out there.

Mid game. As the name implies, you walk about the room full of discs trying to kill you. It's definitely fun, but it's a one trick pony. That's the entire game.

Fun little game that I found reminiscent of the flash era. The puzzle solving elements didn't work for me since I just wanted to focus on surviving each room filled with enemies that can instantly kill you. The powers were neat in theory, but in practice I found them to all feel pretty eh. By the final area I had lost all momentum and was just pushing through to see what they had left to throw at me. I wish I had been able to get into a flow state with the gameplay, but it honestly never happened in any of the rooms.

This game's a blast
It's definitely adjacent to bullet hell- the key difference is how focus is taken away from patterns and added to the "bullets". The amount of stuff on screen is reduced, but each individual entity is much more of a threat.

Combining enemies and bullets is pretty clever. I also like the removal of the player's offensive options and static rooms instead of side scrolling screens. Both of those are an interesting rejection of standard shmup conventions. Disc room is an incredibly pure distillation of "Current Objective: Survive" gameplay.

I like the way the new room unlock objectives work here, it works well with the freedom you have to replay any discovered room. It provides reasonable goals to set your sights on for each room. I especially like the ones that check for an area score or global amount of rooms survived > n time. A minority of the room unlock conditions are a bit obscure and weird to figure out, those aren't my favorite but also aren't significantly annoying.

I love the inclusion of a friend leaderboard and dev times for each room. I was going to complain that i played this on xbox so I couldn't compete with my steam friends... but then i checked and literally none of my steam friends have this game wtf.

I appreciate how streamlined this game is. At least 95% of my playtime was spent engaging with the core gameplay. That number is way higher than most other games I play ( I guess I need to play more arcade games). I spent ~3 hours with this game, and feel satisfied with that. I think it ends right around when I started to get tired of it (I did slightly tune the difficulty for the final boss after like 100 attempts, shoutout to the customizable difficulty options). I imagine most people would complain about it being a short game, but it's definitely something I appreciated.

This story in this game is so miniscule that I consider it utterly pointless, although it took so little of my time that it's not like i can have any strong negative opinion on it anyway. I hope not much of the dev time went towards those comics lmao. Reading the "bestiary" descriptions was slightly interesting.

I like the various areas (except one of them...). The gimicks are neat. I especially like how the progression of difficulty in this game is requiring you not just to survive but move to specific spots as well.

I love the way the timer freezes while actively using some of the special ablities. It's a great way to ensure you don't spam them and instead consider them a tool that is used when nesscary

Finally huge shoutout to the option to replace blood color... or even better replace it with confetti . I personally hate looking at blood splatter in games. I wish it wasn't such a staple inclusion in video games. I much prefer looking at confetti to blood, it's aesthetically cooler, less gross and is absolutely hilarious. Please i'm begging more games to add options like this

O joguinho é bem bonito e as fases são bem divertidas, passei raiva pra krl nas últimas fases.
