When it launched it was very criticized (I was also in that hate wagon) because of that switch towards an idol girls’ band and all that, but that is only a part of the whole.
Good things:
·POSTGAME, one of the best in any FF entry, a whole lot of things to do but more important than that, they feel engaging, not grindy nor repetitive (as ffxiii or even ffx) or boring.
·Monster fiend / Arena / Monster stories
·Combat System that with the addition of using monsters, dresses and so ends being top.
·Last Mission minigame that last for around 15 hours with a whole new mechanic and expanding a bit everything that has been told.
Ok / Meh things:
·The completion percentage, continuing it in new game + adds a feeling of freedom that some FF don't have.
·The story and character's development is a bit bland
Bad things:
·To see the cover, play the first hour and dropping the game thinking it's gonna be garbage.

Solid game, but if you're a narrative fan, playing this one before playing X (like I did) will make the plot nonsensical. It's a good RPG game with great graphics, overall design, battle system, and soundtrack. The story is okay, but it has a lot of tonal spikes, changing from goofy to serious very quickly. Sometimes there's too much dialogue and a long introduction, but even without playing the first game, this one is quite enjoyable.
PS: I don't remember if I finished it or not.

Game is unable to receive a number score cause it's so weird, but I had a lot of fun with it. Lots of unique and interesting ideas in a pretty low stakes story about Yuna and her girlfriends. For a game that is mostly side content and minigames, it held my attention and always had something new to offer. Only real complaint is that the voice acting is awful, but it's very charming. The main plot is also kind of weak
This game is like if you came home to find that your partner got poopy on the toilet seat somehow and they didn't clean it.
This game is ass and it smells horrible. The tonal shift from the first game is incredibly jarring, it went from a very compelling tragedy to an anime girl romp around where they do fuck all the whole time. There is zero substance to be had. The main characters aren't expanded on or developed in any shape or form.
Sure, the costumes are cool if you don't fall asleep while waiting to switch between 4 costumes in a row just to get a measly combat buff. Once you unlock the Dark Knight and Alchemist dresspheres, it's basically game over because it's the only useful combination, making the entire combat gimmick of the game feel completely pointless.
I would put drinking gasoline at a higher rating than most of these new mini-games. The 100 floor dungeon made me want to stop being alive.
I have no idea who this game was made for. The plot is infuriatingly stupid, and heaven forbid you want to learn anything about how the universe has shaped after the events of the first game, you better be following a 100% guide to a tee or you can just go fuck yourself, you piece of shit.
This is just simply not a good game. I would go back in time and abort it.
