I don't know about its quantity being worth the money it's charging--I did wait to buy it on a sale--but its quality is top Fire Emblem experience. Some of the most interesting map designs in the series (omg that chapter 4!!), definitely better than the main game in that regard, and the added classes compliment nicely to the revamped challenge. Also, cutting all the filler of the Monastery and focusing just on the combat was refreshing after 3 playthroughs of Three Houses.

Really bad and claustrophobic maps but Fire Emblem is still always at its strongest with limited tools to work with so there's still lots of fun to be found

Also I want to fuck the wolves so bad

while it's rather short and a bit overprized for that length, it's a fun side story. yuri, balthus, constance and hapi are all fun characters, even if i'm not the biggest fan of hapi myself. the soundtrack is nice, if a bit short. the maps can be a bit too hard for my taste, but are still doable. i also enjoyed learning more about byleths family, which seemed like it should've been part of the mainstory tho

Pretty much the perfect DLC to compliment Three Houses. The restricted classes and small selection of characters allow for really solid map design and a very different, refreshing experience from the main game. The characters are great, and the inclusion of the new classes is very welcome. Chapter 4 is genuinely one of my favorite chapters in the franchise.

I didn't enjoy Cindered Shadows as much as the main game but it did get me excited to use the new characters and classes in future Three Houses playthroughs.

Cranks up Three Houses' map design issues to 11 but gives us Yuri and I want to suck his dick.

Yuri is so hot I love him so much

The story is very generic and extremely predictable. Only worth playing to get the DLC content in the main game.

Mid no idea why this counts as a separate game here though

Cindered Shadows is an additional campaign for Three Houses, focusing on a hidden place called The Abyss and its inhabitants. In terms of gameplay it's much more straightforward than the main game, since it has a small fixed roster of characters and it removes all the teaching mechanics. Hence, you only really focus on levelling and battling, which is a nice change of pace from the busywork in a regular Three Houses playthrough.

Map design in this campaign is interesting, featuring some chapters with interesting objectives but also a few tedious ones. In general, though, I'd say it's mostly fun and worth a purchase.

This DLC was a fun time but I'm not sure I see myself really returning to it. I'm glad I went in mostly blind because I was able to experience the characters fresh and think all 4 of the new units are easily the best part of the DLC, what can I say, I like power of friendship type shit. While not every map is necessarily fun, I do think it has some very cool and unique map ideas, easily one of my favorites being Chapter 4, while the group is being chased by a big fuck-off invincible monster and you just need to r u n .

Good
- More battles and characters!
- Interesting but slightly odd extension to the background.

Meh
- Performance could be better.
- Animation gets a little stale after awhile (skip animation).

A fun, self-contained story with a select group of the best characters from the base game. The new characters are SO good, and fit SO well with the base game, it's a shame some players will never see them. To me, this is evidence that fewer but more consistently-good characters is the path forward for a sequel attempting to recapture the allure of Three Houses.

Short and sweet, adds some QoL improvements and a bit more Byleth lore the main game desperately needed. Also quite a bit more challenging than the base game.

It's unfortunately very predictable and the integration of the characters into the main story is handled very poorly (why are you acting like you've never met me, Yuri?)

While I wish that the side story was a tad bit longer, the restricted classes and limited gold added an extra element of strategy to the general gameplay. The new characters included, the Ashen Wolves, are charming enough characters, with Hapi and Balthus being my favorite of the bunch. Prior to playing, I only knew about the Aelfric twist, which is honestly so telegraphed that I didn't mind going in with that knowledge. The new maps offer a decent amount of challenge, especially with the locked character roster and limited resources. However, I do not believe that this is worth $25. For what it is, it's not even worth $20. I recently managed to snag it for $15, and I do think that this is a fair enough price point for the overall package, which at the end of the day, is a decent enough addition to the base game.

static characters makes this the only challenging three houses experience apart from earlygame maddening

Decent, but a bit frustrating to go through on a first go for some reason.

I know the cast is limited to not overshadow the new characters, but the lack of Jeralt and Sothis is a huge bummer, especially the former given what happens later.

Also Death Knight shows up for no reason, leaves saying he'd come back, and just doesn't.

if yuri has million number of fans i am one of them . if yuri has ten fans i am one of them. if yuri have only one fan and that is me . if yuri has no fans, that means i am no more on the earth . if world against yuri, i am against the world. i love #yuri till my last breath.. .. Die Hard fan of yuri . Hit Like If you Think yuri Best ashen wolf & Smart In the world

infinitely better in every way to the base game of three houses. not worth playing the rest of the game for though in my opinion and some of the maps still arent that good

Mediocre DLC, wouldn't really recommend it to anybody.

Great for the first run, some of the maps are challenging in a good way and I enjoy the personalities of the Ashen Wolves as well as exploring Abyss. The story is alright and serves its purpose.

Most of the maps are kinda whatever and not being able to save your progress into the main game is kinda a bummer. But easily one of the most fun maps in the series is Chapter 4 where you're being constantly chased. The characterizations of our main quartet are fine but nothing special, since there are no supports in this you barely spend anytime with them interacting with the other characters.

Very meh. Hapi, Constance, and Yuri were good at least

Would be 2 stars if not for Yuri

Played it on Yuzu so like halfway it started to run like shit and ended up watching the cutscenes, but I can say it is okay and I gave it half a star more because of Balthus, but nothing really groundbreaking
