I must admit, this game played alone, is a bit boring, but playing with friends is fun! It does have some issues and game-breaking bugs that never got fixed, sadly, but what counts is the fun you can have with your friends. The co-op mode supports up to 4 people and you can play as Lara, Osiris, Isis, or Carter.
Solid, but it didn't leave a strong impression. Would I have gotten more out of this if I'd played Guardian of Light? Or, hell, more original continuity Tombs Raider? Maybe, but even in a vacuum, it's a decent enough co-op experience. I don't think I ever really got much out of the Reward system (maybe if I was playing this more than just casually), or much of anything the game had to offer besides its physics puzzles and boss fights - but I did like both of those. If I'd been playing by myself, I probably would've found the game overly forgiving (definitely remember cheesing some of the crumbly bridge sequences), but I appreciate it in the context of a co-op, more puzzle-oriented game.
An excellent combination of combat, platforming, and puzzle solving. This spin-off doesn't follow the traditional Tomb Raider mold. Instead, it's a more arcade style twin-stick shooter with an emphasis on co-operative multiplayer. Don't let it's top-down perspective fool you into thinking it's some kind of Diablo clone. You won't be going around blasting through a constant stream of enemies and picking up the loot they drop. Those elements are here, but in very small ways. The core tenets of the main series are still in place. While there are regular enemy encounters, they are spaced out enough so that the puzzles and platforming take center stage.
The game is a blast whether you are playing by yourself or with up to three friends. It's an incredibly smooth and well made experience. The boss fights do tend to fall back on that irritating trope of spawning standard minions to get in your way, but it was an easier thing to put up here than it has been in other games. While this was made with co-op in mind, the single-player experience is strong enough to stand on it's own. In fact, the way the it tailors the dungeons to fit the number of people onscreen makes it feel like you're getting two games in one.
With plenty of post-game challenges and hidden content scattered throughout the world, there proves to be quite a bit of content in Osiris' temple. It could also prove to be a nice breath of fresh air for the series. Fans who want to spend more time with Lara in a new way now have that option without having to worry about the main series going through some unwanted changes. It's one heck of a spin-off that I would love to see return for a third entry at some point in the future.

A fun little co-op experience for a weekend.
Lara Croft & The Temple of Osiris is a sequel to the previously released spin off game, Guardian of Light back in 2010. Much like the original this is a somewhat low budget downloadable title off the PlayStation store designed for co-op play and is pretty far from a traditional Tomb Raider game though it's a fun way to while away a few hours.
The story to Temple of Osiris is pretty terrible. Lara and a fellow archaeologist Carter are exploring ruins in Egypt when they accidentally set free two gods, Isis and her son Horus. (This is an excuse essentially for four player co-op). Along with them they accidently release Set who has been stuck in the underworld and is evil etc. To stop him they must gather up parts of Osiris, Isis's dead husband (an excuse for separate dungeons).
It's all perfectly suitable for the game design though. The actual gameplay is played in an isometric view with a mixture of gun combat and puzzles. The gunplay a duel stick shooter in which you can equip various weapons from Lara's iconic hand guns to rocket launchers and laser staffs. It's not deep but it's satisfying.
The real fun of the game though for me is the puzzles as a group you must solve. A lot of them involve various switches, spike traps, grappling hooks, bombs etc. and depending on how many of you are playing will depend on how the same puzzle loads to incorporate everyone.
The visuals aren't super next gen or anything as it's meant as a little downloadable title but it looks fairly good considering and the artwork is excellent. Equally the voice acting is very good with Keeley Hawes returning to voice Lara since stepping aside for the Tomb Raider reboot.
If there is one thing about the game that is not so great is the online needs stabilizing. Connection to other players hasn't been especially good and whenever anyone joins the game it reloads to have everyone select character and reload the check point. This can be frustrating if people keep joining and leaving. The game does support local co-op though so if you have a friend over it's the best way to play.
Overall as a little budget title Temple of Osiris is pretty fun if not deep. The co-op gameplay involving everyone solving puzzles is excellent and there are plenty of challenges and items to collect to give it a bit of extra replay value. For the price you can't go wrong.
+ Co-op is good fun.
+ Puzzle solving.
+ Keeley Hawes as Lara.
+ Local co-op.
- Players joining online can get annoying.

The failures here would make even a boilerplate sequel blush: the visual clutter, jittery feel, unsatisfying challenge, grindy looting, witless writing, laughable voice-acting, underdeveloped levels, overlong boss battles. There are too many puzzles and too few fights, and battles lack the delicious frenzy of overwhelming numbers. And the enemies, they’re just plain ugly. Ammit, Devourer of Souls, surely has the worst mane ever.
2-player co-op offers no salve. Even my far-more-forgiving brother could not hide his disappointment.
Twin-stick thrills are real, but you’d never know raiding these tombs. The pleasurable pulp of its predecessor is gone. This is straight-up incompetent.
