I spent like 30 minutes just looking for the one part I remembered about a random Resident Evil game that I played, where you fight Nemesis in like a gas station or something...Since I didn't even know how it was called. Well, it seemed hopeless, but I FOUND IT! I FOUND IT AND IT WAS THIS GAME!
That's it. That's the only thing I'm gonna say about this game.

Interesting action take on RE. But still nothing specail. If your desperate for another co-op RE game this might fill the itch.
The only other interesting aspect was the multiplayer that was PvPvE. You could mess with the other team by fighting in the middle of zombie hoard. So it was a different MP experience for the time.

I'm playing through a couple of RE games recently and revisited this one. I'm playing offline, but I also checked out the dlc.
While the main campaign is still lackluster it offers enough to keep you kind of interested. The dlc missions are surprisingly though noticeably better.
There are different enemy types which need some tactic and the levels are designed better, there is a better story and the team is more distinct. It still doesn't live up to it's potential though and just could have been better.
The gameplay is also pretty lackluster.
If you want to hear more about it you can check out my video review.

Operation Raccoon City is not a good game. It's riddled with bugs and reeks of a rushed development cycle. It's a sort of bizarre side-story to the events of RE2 & 3 where we're led to believe Leon and Jill were having frequent encounters with bands of armed Umbrella and US special agents.
It's a class-based 4 player game and as such probably falls into the vein of "fun with friends." Playing with AI means to play alone because the AI is braindead and on more than one occasion I caught them unloading their ammo into the adjacent wall.
To be honest, the game rides at about the C-tier for most of the missions because they're fairly inoffensive. It's fun to shoot hordes of zombies with automatic weapons and these are some gooey, destructible, zombies. It's the same enjoyment I'd get out of a Dynasty Warriors game. But the moment the game pits you against human foes with automatic weapons the game drops to the garbage tier.
Counter to your companions, the enemy AI is capable of placing a bullet between the buttcheeks of a flea at 50 meters.
A level will be going fine and then demand you progress down a hallway with no cover where 7 guys at the other end are doing alternating hails of bullets. Your health melts the moment you expose yourself in these sections and the game would only be a third as long if not for these roadblocks. It doesn't feel quality assured in any way. Dropping the difficulty did nothing to alleviate these sections and I wound up playing most of my time as the class with unlimited grenades, or the class that could turn invisible and run by all the dudes with guns
THAT ALL SAID, Operation Raccoon City panders very hard to RE3 fans especially, which I appreciate. You do whacky shit like orchestrate a conflict between Mr. X and Nemesis, operate the railgun from the end of 3, and potentially gun down Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield. It's fanservice on fanservice and I feel quite serviced.
The environments are pretty moody and would be good in a better designed game. The sewer level has a great gimmick of there being low light so you have to chuck flares, which only illuminate how surrounded by zombies you are.
The game is bad, but it doesn't feel ill-conceived.
I spent most of the play time alternating between intrigue and ambivalence as even the frustrating parts slowly wore away into just something to expect. Maybe it's stockholm syndrome, but I'm not disappointed I played it

This game is BAD.
The only reason why I'm giving it 2 stars is because I think the concept of the game (playing as Umbrella) was cool, and because I still enjoyed it more than Resident Evil 6. At least I was able to finish this one.
I was one of those fools who pre ordered this game back in 2012. I tried really hard to convince myself that it's not flaming garbage lol
Funnily, I actually kinda enjoyed playing this back in 2012.
However, I recently replayed it and HOLY SHIT, it was so much worse than I remembered. Even Capcom is not bothering to fix it on Steam, so they just delisted it lmao
The darkest times of the RE franchise.

Capcom clearly tried to jump on the co-op cover shooter bandwagon with a game that feels like 'the greatest hits of Resident Evil' by pitting you and three squad-mates against familiar franchises heroes and villains.
Over the course of 7 short missions, you play as one of several characters with their own unique weaponry, abilities and perks as you blast your way through hordes of enemies.
Unfortunately the game feels clunky, with terrible AI enemies and team-mates that lead to many annoying moments. For example, you cannot switch weapons while running, certain enemies can stun lock you with melee hits and grenades are absolutely rubbish.
There is no discernible art style, with very flat graphics, poor character models and very bad lighting.
As a massive fan of Resident Evil, this was potentially the worst game I've played in this franchise. Everything here is under-baked, from the barely existent story to the shoddy game-play.

For some reason I own this on all three platforms and it sucks on all three of them. In addition to being non-canon, to butchering all of the main characters appearances, in addition to making Raccoon City ridiculous, the game simply was broken and never got fixed. Humans would survive insane damage but you died like nothing. Zombie aggro rarely worked correctly. The only good game mode was a DLC where you played King of the Hill with a computer that let you control Nemesis.
