DLC Curta, mas muito bem construída e desenvolvida, a mansão das bonecas é absurda demais, a "conclusão" da família winters é emocionante, o problema hoje é o preço, só vale se pegar em promoção, mas ainda é um pouco cara.

its.. okay??
somewhat interesting beginning but 3rd person and the annoying shooting gets boring real quick
also got lost a fair bit of times which was pretty annoying
the last boss fight is pretty good though, but thats about it

I had a lot of fun with the intro sequence which felt like decent survival horror. Having to run past enemies and never having enough ammo. The puzzles were also easy but far better than anything in the base game. The sequence afterwards was also pretty cool and did scare me a bit without feeling as scripted and predictable as the scary bit in the base game. Unfortunately after this ur stuck through a janky stealth level that gives off my first unreal engine game vibes. And then more scripted sequences and boring lengthy boss fights. I also did not care for the story and I don't see what anyone else got from it. Ethan and Rose are terribly boring and their personalities along with their character motivations entirely revolve around family tropes with nothing else to characterize them than one liners.

At first I thought Rose was an angsty ass bitch but the ending did have me in tears. A nice conclusion to the Winters' story.

Very gimmicky and linear. Felt like Capcom threw a bunch of shit at the wall to try to get it to stick, (you guys like Super Mario Sunshine and Alan Wake???) which really was not necessary. All anyone needed was more areas to explore and solve puzzles, maybe some more weapons, some more horror sections to give the main game more meat on its bones, more time with the main villains. But the little you get to explore is very sectioned off parts of the castle, the little horror you get is a retread of a moment from the base game, and then it is... stealth sections??? Oh god.

I wanted to this to be good because the final part of the RE8 campaign tease left me feeling interested, but this was not a very compelling follow up to it in my opinion. Rose has some of the worst dialogue in the entire series, worse than Jake, worse than Moira, and her one-liners are so bad. During a boss fight, a character screams "This is STUPID!!!", and you know what? I have to agree.

It feels like Capcom is getting rid of all of those last holdovers from RE7, which is a shame. The series finally came back to its survival horror roots and won everyone back over again, and now we are already heading back into the territory of action games with really bad plots.

At least we got RE7 I guess.

A expansion that really add something in the game, I don't have word to describe this the DLC, the only thing that I can say it has one and that melt our hearts

Mostly ok. Story stuff was pretty dumb. That one mannequin bit was really cool. Farely decent expansion but compared to all the stuff 7 got it's a shame they didn't do more dlc. Would've been awesome to see more of the lords in just about any form. If the next game has Rose as the protag we're gonna be in for some wild shit.

The doll house is terrifying. Great dlc, but short.

mixed feelings on this. I feel like with a little more time and some small changes this could've easily been one of the best RE dlcs, but the way the handle Rose's arc here is really strange. It's implied in RE8 that because of her powers she is basically cut off from the rest of the world and living under government supervision, so her wanting to get rid of them actually makes a lot of sense, but for some reason the angle they choose is that she... goes to regular school and gets bullied for having superpowers? despite being completely normal and conventionally attractive and absolutely not the type to be a social outcast in school etc etc etc? And I wish we could've revealed that it was Ethan helping Rose earlier, partly because it was obvious from the start but also because it would've given Rose coming to terms with his death more room to breathe, cause it was by far the best part of this story for me.
In terms of gameplay this is basically just a boring asset flip for the first half but it leads into a really creative stealth section in the Beneviento house and a fun final boss which introduces a lot of cool mechanics. So again, kind of a mixed bag.
Overall, I did enjoy this and I like how it sets up Rose as her own character and gives us some emotional closure for her and Ethan. Despite my issues with it it's a solid end to this chapter of the franchise for now.

God, this one really punched me in the heart. While I found Shadows of Rose weaker than previous RE DLC (namely End of Zoe and Not A Hero) in terms of gameplay, this one goes on the "made me cry" fridge. Really nice way to wrap up Ethan's story and introduce Rose as her own character.

I really liked it!

To me, this is what I wanted End of Zoe in RE7 to be. The beginning of the DLC was a throwback to classic Resident Evil with limited ammo and mobility, and I absolutely loved that. The addition of Rose's powers having limited ammo was a nice touch, as it added even more strategy to the gameplay. Honestly, if the whole DLC was just this type of survival horror, I would probably consider it as one of my favorites.

The problems come from the rest of the DLC. The section in House Bienvenido went on way too long, and I feel like it reused way too much from the base game. It felt like padding in an already short DLC, and it really hampered my enjoyment.

The final boss with Miranda was fantastic though, and is one of my new favorite final fights in the franchise. The added abilities has me very excited for the future of RE if they continue with Rose.

The story was mostly predictable and at times a little too sappy, but I'm not gonna lie I still really enjoyed it. I just love Ethan too much as a character, that anything to do with him I will adore.

It's a shame that the middle of the DLC holds this back because if it wasn't for House Bienvenido being a slog, and the rampant reuse, we could of had a winner on our hands.

"its just fanservice" it was especially serviced to me actually. should've had more mia but whatever

Podrían haber sacado mucho más jugo al personaje si hubiesen profundizado en su trauma, y se hubiesen alejado de los eventos de Village, pero solo es una especie de flashback, solo que ahora manejamos a Rose.

replayed on hardcore for all achievements in village and it was worse than i remember, please let this be a weird footnote in RE history and not the beginning of the end. Miranda fight at the end is genuinely fun though I'll stand by that

Shadows of Rose.

There ain't much to say about this what I haven't said before in my Village review. The level design is good but there is even more magical nonsense in this one than in Village. Rose is compelling enough as a protagonist though.

Some creepy levels here and there with some good puzzles.
Good survival horror, bad Resident Evil. Enjoyable nonetheless.

6.5/10 Michaels trying to guide you.

The "Shadows of Rose" DLC can be best described as an absolutely baffling piece of work that has a surprisingly insane amount of potential. It is so utterly frustrating and boring; and yet, it features some incredibly emotional and strongly engaging moments in the middle of that boring mess. It leaves me feeling utterly bewildered.

To start off, let me just say, I absolutely LOATHE the third person camera here. I don't mind it existing as an option for the people that want to pretend they're playing "Resident Evil 4" for some reason, but forcing it on the player like this is just such a bad idea. Since this DLC consists almost entirely of reused areas from the main game, and since the main game was originally designed to be played with the first person camera exclusively, the third person camera just makes everything feel so small and claustrophobic. My favorite example of this is when Rose uses a ladder, the camera just kind of awkwardly zooms into her shoulder and you can barely tell anything apart. There are a few moments where I did kind of enjoy a trick they pulled with the camera, but for the most part, I would much rather have played this in first person.

The gameplay itself is also just...really not fun. I think they were trying to go for a more classic "Resident Evil" feel where you can't just kill everything you see, but man it just does not work. Instead of running away from enemies because I was afraid of dying or to conserve ammo, I ran away from as many enemies as I could because they were so annoying to fight. I hated having to slowly watch them either drain Rose's face or use my stupid power to push them away and slowly watch Rose move her head before I could do anything again, It drove me absolutely insane. The final boss is also a complete mess that is just so weirdly easy that the fight becomes painfully dull after the first three rounds. Every time I had to do the same thing again, my audible groan got even louder.

However, for as annoying as I find the gameplay, it isn't all bad. There are some segments that change things up and go for a more linear, emotional experience, and I actually really enjoyed those. These introduce fun mechanics that actually make this DLC stand on its own, and if it were in a fully fleshed out game, I would have loved the hell out of it. The part where you have to watch these evil dolls that try to kill you when you're not looking like SCP-173 was so good! (It takes place in the same area as the big evil baby from the main game. And while it's not as good as that, it was still the best part of the DLC by far). If the whole DLC was like that, it would have easily been worth the money without a doubt.

The other thing I found surprisingly endearing was the narrative. While it can be a little cheesy at times, and the actual explanation for what's going on is pretty weird and poorly thought out, the emotional weight carried by the narrative is just so good that I can actually look over those issues (to some extent). Rose's arc was great! And it actually got me feeling a little teary eyed at times; it was an amazing comparison to Ethan's narrative, and a great conclusion to his story through his daughter. I loved it!

But, with that being said...the dialogue is absolutely atrocious. Listening to Rose comment on every single thing that happened around her was physically painful. And some of the quips and jokes she throws around feel so out of character and jarring that I began to wonder if the person who wrote the dialogue only watches Marvel films... If not for the horrible dialogue, this story would have been nearly perfect.

So yeah, overall, this DLC is a ridiculously mixed bag. For every strength it has, its counteracted with some weakness. And then another weakness is added on top of that. I would give this DLC a higher score if the combat wasn't so incredibly dull and the dialogue wasn't so cringe-inducing. For such a compelling narrative, its a shame they decided to waste it on something so short and un-fun.

Short DLC which reuses a lot of the assets of the base game. The combat for most of it consists of fighting the same type of enemy which doesn't feel very satisfying. The other half consists of linear sections which are insta fail if you make a mistake (At least on Hardcore). Final fight was kinda fun but simple.

gostei de revisitar o castelo e a casa beneviento

How the fuck did they figure out how to reuse the same ending cutscene from the base game💀

Mannequin section: 10/10
Rest of DLC: Slightly annoying walking simulator, reused assets, locations, characters
Story: Goofy ahh Forspoken dialogue

اضافة حلوة بس مهي زي End of zoe او Not a hero في Resident evil 7
