Alien, The Thing, Doom and Quake all had a baby with each other.

The legendary immortal classic that influenced the First Person Shooter genre was probably one of my very first games as a toddler without me knowing about playing it before. I never made it back when the Aliens attack and for some reason never played it until know.

As the headline suggests its easy to say that games like Doom and Quake had some influence on this games plot along with Ridley Scotts Alien and John Carpenters The Thing. The headcrab monster pretty much seems to be inspired by the facehugger from Alien, while the infected Zombies reminist on the humans that the Thing from the movie The Thing took over.

What sets this apart from other FPS games from its time is the way the game tells its story. The story itself is rather simple yet its the way the game used the gaming world and its environment to tell the story is what makes it.

The gameplay is pretty solid as it uses your typical FPS combat along with some puzzle solving. Enemy variety is pretty good but I will say that we had FPS games with better monsters before and after. What kinda baffles me that the human soldiers you fight are mostly a bigger threat than the Alien enemies which is kinda weird since monsters normally should be more dangerous. The shotgun is also kinda lame to use against humans. Firstly because of the low damage it does and second because you can't blow enemies heads away, yet you can explode them into pieces. Other than that the game has good weapon variety. The game can also become kinda frustrating at points but that might be more of a skill thing rather than the games own quality. At least you can save whenever you want and the game still uses checkpoints.

The sound design is pretty amazing. Never was it more fun to smack a crowbar into a wall. Amazing noises. The headcrabs also sound kinda adorable lol.

I wouldn't call Half-Life a masterpiece like some others do but its still a pretty damn good game and a must play for every FPS fan.

8/10 Resonance Cascades.

The hands of death could not defeat him. The Sisters of Fate could not hold him. And Zooos will not see the end of this day. Kratos will have his revenge!

The final of the greek saga, chronological speaking and a worth final to that. Kratos is in his most brutal and most psychotic in this game. He once again goes so far to mutilate those who don't deserve. In the games final moments though when he meet Pandora you can see some of his humanity shine. This is pretty much my favorite version of Kratos when looking at the greek and norse saga at once.

The games story is pretty much a long epilog to GOW2's ending. Going to all of Olympus and seeing Kratos deal with all the gods who stand in his way is very fun, bloody and intruiging. It's not as good as its two predecessors but still great. It might have the best boss fights in the series.

Once again the gameplay is similar to it's predecessors but with some minor changes. This time you are able to ride on cyclopses and cerberus dogs after stunning them. The weapon variety is great once again, though I would have prefered not to have so many blades with chains in it.

The score offers some new great soundtracks. Rage of Sparta anyone?

There isn't much else to say. Kratos development from an broken warrior who is haunted by his nightmares to a raging lunatic was done really well and it always makes me ask how this Kratos would have dealt with Ares.

9/10 Times the circle button gets pushed to it's limits.

How to sequel a franchise properly.

God of War 2 pretty much improves on every aspect of the already perfect first game. The graphics have more details and better light and shadow effects. The score is the best in the franchise. The gameplay is the same but more polished and the story builds up alot of new lore to the series, especially with the whole Titans vs. Gods conflict of the great war.

This is the game though that turned Kratos into the meathead most people know him of. It sure makes sense though, since the gods gave him empty promises and refused to free him from his PTSD. It wents so far that it turned Kratos into an anti hero with some slasher villain characteristics. He uses innocent people as objects to overcome certain obstacles just so he can reach his goal to get revenge on Zeus, despite it being "mostly" possible to find other ways around them.

The story is more or less as good as the first game since its the one that builts alot of new lore as mentioned before. Finding out more about the Gods and Titans was really interesting. Also worth mentioning is that this games story feels the most like a true adventure. Mostly because during Kratos' travel he finds all kind of different people that like him search, or either work for the Sisters of Fate so those that search for them can change their destiny, but of course Kratos can't let that happen.

The gameplay as mentioned before is a lot more polished now. Cyclones of Chaos for example is much better to use than in the original game. You get a lot of more weopon and magic variety and you don't lose your Mana that fast so you can use magic attacks more often. The platforming has been improved and reduced offering more replay value for those that dislike them. Enemy variety has also been increased giving some new and old enemy typed to fight. The game has more boss fights and the one in particular against Lahkesis and Atropus is the best in the franchise. It offers the perfect mix between music, enviromental combat and boobies to witness.

The score and levil design are also the best in the franchise. Exploring the Isle is my favorite piece of music in the game. The levels offer far more variety than in the first game and are far more color friendly.

It's easy to say that this the T2 of video game sequels. Kratos adventure to the sisters of fate is pretty much his most epic adventure and the best in the franchise. It offers the right variety between story telling, fast paced gameplay and puzzle solving.

10/10 3 meter tall goddesses with nude boobie.
