The Sonic Adventure 2 of SpongeBob games

i remember this shit on gba from when i was a dumb baby

Oddly enough 2006 was the year i discovered betrayal for the first time, I didn't think it would come in the form of a licensed kids game but i had to learn that lesson eventually I guess.

Eu sei que o jogo não é tão bom assim, nem tem nada demais, mas ele fez a minha infância. Por isso, tá aqui com essa nota e eu ainda me divirto jogando (nem que seja pela mais pura nostalgia)

Although the gameplay is overly simplistic to go back to, i quite liked it as a child and can still appreciate the surreal take on spongebob’s characters with a lot of cool atmospheres up it’s sleeve.

why are the stages so damn long and BORING

This game is realistic, this is what I dream of on a regular basis. 10/10 on that.

It's weird, and I like that. It's no Battle for Bikini Bottom or Movie Game, but it's solid. Just don't play it on Wii. I'd much rather take worse graphics and a usable control scheme over tacked on motion and pointer controls.

I love weird games, and the fact I kept coming back to this so many times really shows this had something.

This was okay at first but it got really boring quite quickly.

In the first third of the game,
SpongeBob's driving levels weren't great since they were shown as "races" when in fact they weren't, but Patrick's platforming levels were pretty fun especially with the comic book style that reminded me of XIII and I got some enjoyment out of Plankton's 2.5D platformer section.

The second "section" that I played today was just boring.
SpongeBob's level was just Patrick's from earlier without charm, Patrick's was difficult to control and Plankton kept dying on spawn and his Lazer eye is uncontrollable.

That second Plankton level caused me to drop this game entirely because of how finicky it was.

The minigames were not great, some were harder to control than others, and I kinda expected more from this game.

I had high hopes for this game when I first started it yesterday but it grew old really fast.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature From the Krusty Krab presents an unexpected challenge, with difficulty levels rivaling that of Dark Souls. While marketed as a game for children, its intricate mechanics and lack of clarity on basic controls can be frustrating. The game fails to specify simple details, such as whether "right" refers to the player's right or the game's right, leading to confusion.

One major oversight is the integration of motion controls on the Xbox Series X controller, which are never explained. This omission significantly impacts gameplay, leaving players to struggle with controls that were seemingly overlooked during development.

Despite these issues, the game offers a unique and challenging experience, ranking as the second most difficult game of all time, behind Dark Souls III. However, improvements in clarity and control explanations are necessary for future installments to cater to both casual and experienced gamers.

Score: 5/10

this game gets so much shit i stg this is why we'll never get some acid trip fever dream spongebob property again, ITS HELLA FUCKIN GOOPY

HOLY SHIT THE BURGER IS ALIVE!

Follow your dreams I guess.

A cult classic if I've ever seen one
A bizarre ass fever dream through the dreams of Spongebob, Patrick, and Plankton
While not the best game, it's full of imagination and cleverness

I swear to god I've beaten this game 3 times and can only remember like 3 levels from it. Each time I played it again, I didn't remember well over half of it.
Like being unmemorable is one thing, but to the point where I question if I'd even beat it before those other 2 times? Is this game real? Did I hallucinate this?

Battle for Bikini Bottom but worse.

I give Creature From the Krusty Krab a 5!

Look, this game is probably not as good as I remember it and most likely not as good as some of the best Spongebob games.

With that said, I remember really loving this one growing up just for how nonsensical it was. It never sticked to just one idea or gameplay style and that's what kept it fresh and unique for me.

Maybe I will revisit it someday to realize it's not nearly as good as I think it was but for now, one of the better licensed games I ever played.

My favorite SpongeBob game of all time with an amazing sound track! I LOVE the different styles they explore from Patrick’s super hero comic book levels to Plankton old big monster film styled levels!

wouldn't be so bad if the levels weren't so damn long

The worst part about growing up is realizing the games you love so much as a kid turns out to be actually mid all along. I miss those simple days...

I'll give it this, the platforming sections are great. It's too bad that's only like...half of the game?

The rest is more or less on-rails shooters, racing games and simple button minigames that being the game down for me.

Love the presentation, but that can only do so much for a game.

It should be noted I played a good amount of this as a kid and I remember liking it so as far as this replay went I enjoyed the time with it, but it froze right before the Gary race and despite cleaning and making sure there wasn't anything funny going on it just kept freezing at the loading point so I'll probably be skipping out on replaying the game in full. It was decent and unique for a SpongeBob game, but the levels were kind of repeating and the enemy types were meh. But racing was fun and the gross designs were definitely eye grabbing.

6.8/10

I didn't even like this as a kid man, i thought the art and junk was really cool but the gameplay was just kinda whatever and it ended so quickly

Very fun turn your brain off kinda game, I quite like Plankton's presence in this and his levels with being chased by a Krabby Patty (music is a big reason why) and the giant movie monster levels (as seen on the boxart), tho Starfishman levels, while cool at first, just kept dragging on and on and on and ugh I just got sick of them after a while

Here we have another Spongebob game from Heavy Iron Studios. While made by the same people, this game is still noticeably different from the other two: Battle for Bikini Bottom and the Movie videogame. This one has a different engine, gameplay styles, and mechanics. The game was quite enjoyable, but certainly nowhere near as good as Battle for Bikini Bottom. Worth a go either way.
