For my money (you buy games with this) thee finest mini-golf experience. I would say that it claims this title for being thee one that requires a hearty swinging motion on yr end, but it crests beyond that hill into greenery. Life twirls & pops with colors, bright & vibrant. Gizmos jut out, vents bellow air around; each course lives its life with a bubbly personality. Between sinking various winged-animals, go on egg hunts for unique golf balls scattered around each course while yr microdosing motion sickness to accustom yrself to virtual reality.

Likely my second favorite VR game.

played with friends tonight. i don’t imagine it would’ve been fun by myself

A surprisingly good VR experience. It took a few holes to get used to the fact that you are swinging a "weightless" club, but past that everything feels quite intuitive and natural. The environments in the game are simple but beautiful and enjoyable to spend time in. Multiplayer with friends is effortless and the in-game avatars are just enough to give a sense of presence without getting in the way. The courses themselves are numerous and varied, though many of them are paid DLC (given the $15 base price, I'd say it's worth picking up at least a few). Overall this is a shining example of VR-mimicking-reality in which the VR version is better - I can play on a private course with my friends anywhere, any time, for a fraction of the cost. Give it a try!

One of the better VR experiences. It's well made and feels very smooth. The levels are also quite creative and fun to play around in. If you like mini-golf, this is definitely a must-try on VR-Glasses. :)

Fantastic family fun.
Only loses half a star because some of the mechanics in the later DLC courses are a bit distracting. But overall, simply brilliant.

One of the best VR games I've ever played. Each course is incredibly fun and they keep releasing more and more outlandish courses every couple of months.

There's something so simple and satisfying about Walkabout Mini-golf. There's no extra fluff. It is MINI-GOLF. All the best parts about it too. Courses are expertly themed and generate memorable experiences through each. The more difficult night-time versions of each course are quite difficult. It's all good fun from top to bottom, and they nailed the mini-golf vibe.

On top of this, I love the collect-a-thon elements of finding unique golf balls throughout each course, and I enjoyed the "treasure hunt" for unique putters in the night courses. There's a lot you can customize to make it feel personalized.

It can't be overstated how well the multiplayer works. I originally purchased it to connect with my younger brother and we had a blast every time we played. No lag, no disconnects, no hiccups. Was a flawless experience. It was a great way to talk and get to know my brother a bit better. Occasionally we would just see how crazy we could hit the ball and still get it close to the goal. We got a few hole-in-one's and loved the replay feature to relive those crazy moments. It was a great time.

I think the amount of courses in the base game is certainly enough, but if it isn't they do have a couple of DLC courses, but I can't comment on those because I haven't tried them.

Overall, I think Walkabout Mini-golf is an excellent addition to your VR library, especially if you're just looking for something a little more relaxed to play with your friends. Recommended!

It's always a good time to hop into and do a match or two of some mini golf with the boys.

Buen juego de mini golf para VR pero tiene muy pocas pistas incluidas con el juego base. [7'5/10]

My favorite co-op PSVR2 game right now. So much fun with friends and the controls are incredibly fluid.

PSVR2 Version:
What an absolute prime example of a PSVR 2 game. The game seems to be in rock hard native headset resolution. Just straight full res. On one level with Demeo and Saints & Sinners. It's razor sharp and no upscale and one of the most high res games you can play on PSVR 2 now. The clarity when you turn around in your standard lobby and look into the distance is insane, when you press X inside a game and look at the diorama of the map, it's mind blowing.

And because of this alone, this is the one game you need show someone when he/she uses the headset for the very first time. This sets the bar extremely high on a technical level for the best first impression possible.

Also, the game has buttery smooth 90fps, no reprojection at all. You would always see and feel 60 reprojection when you move around your hand and it is 100% smooth here. Same with smooth turning and locomotion giving no reprojection at all.

I'm absolutely stunned, this game does everything right and hits all highs and should be played by everyone.

This is easily one of the top VR games out there. You get an immense amount of content for the price. Multiplayer is tight, controls responsive. It's literally all I could ask for. in a mini golf game.

If you have a Quest or play via Steam VR I'd say this and Beatsaber should be neck and neck as far as must have software for the console.

Mighty Coconut's Walkabout Mini Golf is VR mini golf done right. There's a good selection of courses providing a nice variety of themes to choose from, ranging from pleasant mountains to outer space. They can be played during day or night—an option that doubles as the course's difficulty setting. Each hole has a golf ball hidden in its surrounding scenery, and each one the player finds unlocks a new color scheme for their own golf ball. Some of these are simple colors and patterns, but some have simple images on them, and many of them are country and pride flags. The cel shaded graphical style gives the game a simple, but very clean and colorful look. It's a style that tends to age quite gracefully in the games that employ it, so while its graphics might not blow away VR enthusiasts, it's sure to look fresh for years to come.
There's a level of attention and care in Walkabout Mini Golf that makes it stand out from other VR games at its price point. Namely, the physics feel "right" and are easy to get the hang of. There's a button that teleports you to your golf ball, but also free movement—including a flight mode. If your ball is moving through a tunnel or something similar, the teleport button will conveniently bring you to where your ball will exit, instead of getting you trapped in scenery. One of the game's best small-but-great features is that the golf club automatically adjusts to the height of the player wielding it, extending or retracting to the perfect length when readied. There are a lot of ways in which Walkabout Mini Golf could have become frustrating or unwieldy, but they all seem to have been accounted for. Anyone looking for a fun, smooth VR mini golf experience for up to five players should start here.

Beautiful "low poly" courses that genuinely took my breath away at points. All the fun you would expect of mini golf in beautiful landscapes. Does some fun video game stuff but never really gets away from "hit ball into hole", which is perfect. Music is naff as fuck, but playing it online with a friend and just chatting bollocks and mucking about whilst also just admiring their great shots and goofs make it easy to ignore.

Really fun and intuitive VR game
Still need to get the DLCs that came out after the PSVR2 release.. but absolutely in love with this one, even alone it's fun to play, but definetly better with friends

Walkabout is perhaps the perfect VR game. A perfectly executed incredibly simple premise. Everything feels right, the art ranges from simple and pretty to stunning and impressive from course to course, wonderful music, great bonuses like finding lost golf balls, or the more advanced searches for new clubs, hundreds of excellently designed holes of mini-golf which are regularly joined by new courses at a reasonable price.

Easily the new default for introducing someone to room-scale virtual reality.

I'm calling this one complete after having played all courses in the base game, finding all lost balls, and completing all scavenger hunts. But there is much play left to be had as it is an addicting online multiplayer game and the DLC course options are many. This is simply a rock solid mini golf game in VR. It works exactly as you want it to and, because, it's in VR, it can go to those fantastic places that make it, in many ways, even better than reality. The art doesn't look great in still images, but alive in VR (in motion and with the lovely in-game music, weather effects, etc.), it really is more captivating than you'd expect of a low-priced miniature golf video game. If you have a platform that runs it, play 'Walkabout Mini Golf.' Hard to imagine anyone being disappointed with it.

Walkabout Mini Golf might be the most simple and perfectly executed VR game I've ever played. The courses look fantastic, the soundtrack is lovely, and the putting is so responsive, it really doesn't feel far off from actual mini-golf. But to add to this, the developers have taken the time to ensure the necessary quality-of-life improvements are there to simplify proceedings. You can manually move around the courses, which is great for exploring and looking out across the landscape, but a measure like pressing the trigger to immediately position you behind your ball for the next shot is a simple but easily overlooked mechanic, which in this case makes the gameplay loop seamless. The lost balls are a great addition to provide that extra dynamic to your single-player game (though these can also be found in multiplayer) and in turn provide you with lots of great ball customisation options.

The only thing holding this back from 5 stars is the lack of a rank-based matchmaking system. The majority of players playing online have mastered these holes by now, with some extremely impressive strategies. As a new player, the vast majority of them end the game with me when they realise I'm no challenge, which can be a little demoralising.

Doesn’t give me a headache and is fun. Basically everything I want from a vr game

Walkabout Mini Golf perfectly captures what makes minigolf fun. The courses are at turns relaxing, technical, atmospheric, whimsical, and overall spectacular. The addition of lost balls and treasure hunts makes unlocking cosmetics a nice change of pace and gives a new perspective on the courses. The music is both interesting enough to evoke the mood of each course, but atmospheric enough to fade into the background. The visuals are striking and varied. And the performance is impeccable, with lightning fast load times on PSVR2 coming in and out of courses.

I did find that the hard versions of the courses were a bit too challenging for me to enjoy, but I appreciate that there is a high skill ceiling for longevity. All of these impressions are from single-player mode - multiplayer adds even more dimensionality to the gameplay, and if I had a VR friend group I can easily see us spending hours hanging out in this game.

It feels a little crazy to give a mini golf game a perfect score, but for what it sets out to do and how it relates to VR's beauty as a medium, it's really hard to do better than Walkabout Mini Golf. CONSTANTLY surprising, challenging, gorgeous, and immersive. Each DLC course is $4, super easy to drop when they release a new one every few months, and EVERY RELEASE, they up themselves in terms of level design, new mechanics, and art direction.
Literally don't miss out on this, especially if you've got buddies to golf with. Maybe the greatest mini golf game ever made.

this game is very clever. the dlc maps are worth it too. they do interesting theming with the holes and the courses- the journey to the center of the earth map has you going off the putting green, like it's an adventure. the myst map rewards patient, thoughtful putting. this game is also extremely good looking. the windmill map also sent me to a blissed out dimension of minigolf. the trees swaying in the wind is such a good touch and the wind even affects the holes. seriously recommend this. great with friends too.

Played every level and dlc that's released as of today just wanted to pop out a review to further spread the truth that this is the best VR game out there rn

No other minigolf game has achieved this high level of quality in courses and content. Not many VR games have offered such a variety beautiful worlds to explore, or provided such good reasons to become immersed and inspect them closely.

It's with full sincerity I tell you that this is one of the best games I've ever played. It's hard to justify from an outside perspective why this deserves 5 stars next to everything else I've decided deserves that rating, but in my heart there's no question.

the best mini golf game ever made

What an incredible minigolf game at a fundamental level. The physics in this put the other 2 big minigolf games on Steam to shame, all the while being in VR. The courses are naturally more tame than the batshit something like Golf With Your Friends leans into, yet these levels all feel like a lot more thought went into them.

Queuing up with friends is also incredibly easy, the host (or any player) just needs to set the room password for a private match, the same field being used to join said lobby. If someone crashes they can rejoin where they left off, score intact (happened twice so far); at worst they may replay the hole they crashed on but with no penalty.

The scoring system is more reasonable, instead of penalizing you for stroking out you simply just, stroke out and move on. Why in the world GWYF makes stroking out an 18 total thing (also 2m time limit) is beyond me.

My only complaint is that to adjust settings such as whether or not you want smooth walking or turning, putter power etc., you need to actually enter a game to do so; you cannot adjust them from the main menu lobby.

I'll be coming back to this to 100% it (under par all courses, find all the hidden balls and get the golf clubs).

I've played an hour or two of this and it's just simply brilliant...
I haven't played all the courses yet but the selection is amazing, there must be about 8 courses that all have a variant to unlock if you collect some secrets while playing.
You can wander around the courses and admire the views. The course designs are superb. It really reminds me of being on holiday as a kid and playing mini golf.

I played a back 9 with a random guy and it was just so fun even though we didn't chat. When we started we both waved our clubs at each other and communicated with the golf club for the whole game lmao

Games like this are absolutely perfect to get someone into VR.

It might seem weird seeing a random minigolf game rated so highly, but Walkabout deserves the praise.

The premise is simple: minigolf, but in VR.

What makes Walkabout special is the execution of this premise. The visuals are fun and clear, the physics feel spot-on, and the course design is immaculate.

Add in easy multiplayer, and this is a game I have spent many many hours in. In fact, I have gotten better at real life minigolf because of this game. There are many games that have done the same.
