Best Gungeon tips:
-Always keep an eye on your character (stray bullets)
-Open chests AFTER the boss, and toss your gun BEFORE the boss of you can (run optimization)
-Always shoot chests (mimics)
-Dodge roll only if you have to (git gud)
-There are secrets EVERYWHERE
While I haven't played EtG in a while, there was a time that it was my go-to game every day for over a year. It is and forever will be, a high-quality, pretty, well-balanced, and well-supported bullet hell roguelike. The devs put so much work into this, and it shows. From experience, I can say that it's worth spending multiple hundreds of hours playing.

God im so bad at this game, but the weapon diversity and engaging "bullet hell lite" gameplay keep me coming back to this adorable and well put together roguelite
Edit: I have revisited this on ps5 now that it's currently free on PlayStation....this games incredible. On par with Hades incredible roguelite

first impression :
availability of guns is not fair. a lot of time, you dont get a second gun from any chest and should face the boss with your pistol. it is unfair.. and maybe broken?
but when the gun system is fair, you will have one hell of a ride playing this.
everything else is awesome.
don't know if it has co op but this game definitely needs to have one.
should complete the game before a full review.

I'm not the biggest fan of rogue-lites but I'm a big fan of twin-sticks and bullet hells, and this delivers in spades. Learning enemy patterns can be overwhelming at first, but after sinking a few hours in, everything fell into place. The RNG can and will screw over several of your runs, but the game is heavily skill-based, so with enough practice the overpowered guns and crazy synergistic piles of passive items become unnecessary.
There's a lot to like here; gameplay is energetic and fun, the game is visually very appealing, and the sheer amount of creativity on show here is overflowing.
That said, various genre-trappings dragged down the experience for me. I had to have a wiki open on my phone at all times to even know what half the items do (please just include this information in-game in roguelites...). I also found the experience largely unsatisfying; a lot of runs feel hopeless because of bad rng in any number of ways (though most notably with the items you're given) making you feel like you wasted your time, whereas on the opposite side of the equation the runs I was having success it was easy to dismiss as me just getting good rng and powerful items rather than due to my play.

It's super fun to play and I love the bullet factor to it. Every time I die, it just determines me to wanting to get better and getting used to the many weapons the game has to offer. I'd say the gameplay loop is pretty fun. My only thoughts for this is that don't pick this up unless you can handle roguelikes and are okay with playing hard as hell games.
After 100% and 200 hrs played, gameplay-wise, I feel this game is 85% fair and balanced and 15% bullshit. While a good ratio, the BS in this game can put you on tilt very easily, especially with how unforgiving the game is with Master Rounds. Ammoconda, Mine Flayer, and High Priest are definitely among that BS. I also feel between the guns and passives, there's MUCH more worthwhile and fun passives as opposed to guns. This game needs some more worthwhile, or at least fun, 'C-D' tier guns.
Enter the Gungeon is quite possibly one of the most beautiful tributes to video games I've ever had the pleasure to play. It's a beautiful blend of bullet hell and roguelike which works in a way I could've never imagined, and the insane pool of guns and weapons includes references to quite possibly every video game that has ever existed. And before you ask, YES: that does include Galaga (as if the whole game wasn't already a reference to the king 😉).
Not as transformative The Binding Of Isaac but it is a lot fairer of a game.
In The Binding Of Isaac you can get screwed by bad pick ups and end up with a useless run, this game has a lot more to do with skill so that isn't as big of a problem, which is why i see Enter The Gungeon as being a better game.
