Enjoyed the game just fine, not really good at strategy games. Thought with Halo it would be different.

That shit was so god damn good! Why was Halo 4 and 5 not just done by this team? Great cast of characters, The Banished were excellent villains, and the game didn't overstay its welcome while improving on the first in major ways. It has a bit of a "Halo 2" ending, but that's not entirely a bad thing. Although, I think it may continue in DLC? But, if so, that's kind of bummer simply because it's just making the game more expensive.

that one cutscene where the carrier was split in half man that was the best shit ever

This is pretty much the first RTS I've taken seriously and have completed the campaign of, so my positives are:

- Cinematics good
- Nice lore and some pretty cool characters (as far as Halo characters go)
- A feeling of experiencing a war in the Halo universe that you never really got out of the mainline games, the scale here is cool
- There are lotsa modes and trinkets to find and unlock, which can keep you occupied after you're done with the main missions. There are also two pretty good dlc campaigns, but I haven't dove into them that much, not yet, at least.

I want Isabel to materialize and let me hug her

Hard to say if I like the story here more than the first Halo Wars. The Banished are a hell of a lot more intriguing a villian than the Covenant were and playing as them in the flood DLC was fun and actually made me connect to them more than I thought it would. Still though, knowing these are the enemies in Halo: Infinite makes me really confused why they were introduced in this game. The overlap of people who play main-series Halo titles and ones that play this seem not that big, and risks connecting their story to a game that most people probably haven't played. Having played this before going into Infinite, it'll be interesting to see how they handle introducing the Banished for all the people that didn't play this game.

A big improvement over the original in almost every way and the campaign is about the right length (albeit still short).

The objectives are varied but not as unique as the first game. I also found myself waiting at my base quite often before making a move but that might be how these games work.

Beautiful game with great mechanics - Wish it did more with its story. It seems scared of making any big moves and ends on a cliffhanger that will never be followed up on.

great game with a great story, and the introduction to the banished. only downside is the cliffhanger ending which will probably never be picked up on

grinded all day after school when it came out

A solid RTS game with a simple but neat story. Controls are quick enough, and production value is notable. I just wish the Blur cinematics lasted longer than 30 minutes across the whole game.

Amazing storyline, great cast of characters, improved a lot of mechanics from the first title, easier to handle even for newcomers, AND THANK GOD WE GOT THE CLASSIC CHARACTER DESIGN BACK!

Halo Wars 2 is a serviceable console FPS that really doesn't do anything that special or different. The gameplay is a bit on the simple side, but the real draw of the game is it advancement of the Halo storyline, namely as the setup for Halo Infinite.

The game itself has ample modes and different armies, but the RTS gameplay itself is not that compelling or novel. It feels very dumbed down in a way that invokes the early days of console RTS games.

I enjoyed my time with the game, but that's almost exclusively due to the outstanding cutscenes that provide a bulk of the story in the game.

If you are looking for a deep and engaging console RTS, you would be better served looking elsewhere.

Amazing Story, gameplay is mostly the same to that of Halo Wars 1. Seeing how this game takes place after Halo 5, does a great job introducing a new faction of evil that is the Banished, terrifying enemies. Like with Wars 1, mostly played for the story, after that left it alone. But great to play if you have an Xbox one, or a PC

Great RTS game and great Halo lore. Need to play this game a lot more, haha

I don't even like RTSs. Like, at all. But I've watched too much Zanny to talk shit about this game.

İlk oyunun baya sonrasında geçiyor. Serina ölmüş ve siqtiğimin Aitriox'unu kovalıyoz isabel gelio gidio edio zart zurt. RTS sevemeyen ben bile bu oyuna bayılıyorum. Müzikleri ilk oyundan kötü ve MP rezalet.

Campaign completed on Normal difficulty with all campaign logs and all skulls collected. Halo Wars 2 is a decent attempt at a console-based RTS game, but ultimately I found the control limitations to handicap the experience more than I'd have liked, This might admittedly just have been that the controls just didn't 'click' with me personally as the core mechanics of control groups, etc., are all here, but being more used to PC-based strategy games with mouse and keyboard, it remained more fiddly than I'd have liked. That aside, there's also a decent story that makes good use of the Halo IP and some interesting, varied scenarios throughout the campaign. I tend to enjoy the base-building element of RTS and in Halo Wars 2 this is, perhaps necessarily, quite simplistic, with greater focus being on unit control - this isn't my natural preference, but trying to take a more objective view, isn't in itself a failing of the game.

they went to war, but with monkeys.

First Halo Wars was a squad-based RTS played very similar to popular RTSs of its time, like BFME,CoH and DoW. Considering 2000s were full of RTS like these, game's lack of unoriginality was acceptable and its okay story and great soundtrack helped me enjoying the game.

Sadly HW2 is pretty much play same as its predecessor, and yeah that means it feels like exactly playing a late 2000s RTS. They are releasing a RTS with 10 years old mechanics and demanding 40$, nice of you Microsoft.

Story is good for like for first hour. It has a very promising opening with very nice cinematics for a RTS, but rest of game's cinematics don't hold up that quality except for one.

Mission design becomes repetitive quickly. I would even say Warcraft 1994 had more interesting mission types.

1/3 of missions are pretty much like "defend your base for 20-30 mins", probably laziest and most boring mission type in the RTS genre. Oh and last mission is also a defense mission, what an amazing closure for a game.

As I said, gameplay just feels old. There is a lot of people claiming game was so good and underrated etc. but no one shows up when I ask if someone is still playing the game. Yeah, no one would play a DoW console rip-off, when you still have DoW1 and DoW2 with active playerbase.

It is a mid RTS at best and can't really recommend. Story has some nice Halo easter eggs and introduces the villains of Halo Infintie, but other than that there is really no reason to play this game.

Looks pretty, and maybe more balanced? With a solid story, and cool new vehicles. But like...Idk, I am still MADLY salty that the deceived me on what population increases actually met. In reality, the armies were hardly at all larger. That was honestly one of the few improvements I was genuinely looking forward to so. L.
