i mean. i liked playing the game.

doesn't mean it's good

Being a huge fan of Mega Man, I was really excited to play this. Unfortunately as a spiritual successor, MN9 just fails to capture the feeling of the classic Mega Man games. They ramped up the amount of instakill and dialed down the fun.

I regret every life decision leading up to this game.

I learned to speedrun this game out of spite

the fate/extra last encore of games

It's just kind of mediocre. There are worse Mega Man games.

não eh tao ruim quanto falam...

List of movies the credits of Mighty No. 9 are longer than.

(clears throat)
Parasite, every Star Wars movie, every Batman movie, The Shining, Se7en, Taxi Driver, The Lion King, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Inception, Memento, Get Out, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Django Unchained, Jurassic Park, Roma, Judas and the Black Messiah, The Lighthouse, Klaus, Nightcrawler, Knives Out, Marriage Story, every Pixar movie, Lady Bird, Beauty and the Beast, The Social Network, every MCU movie, The Irishman, Aladdin, Inside Out, Shrek, every Godfather movie, every Back to the Future movie, The Emoji Movie, Foodfight, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Uncut Gems, every DCEU movie excluding the Snyder Cut, the entire Sam Raimi trilogy, every video game movie. And that's not even half of them.

Did take a bit of this from Emanuel Cool's review of The Lego Movie, he's on Letterboxd, shoutout to him.

(Also I marked this game as abandoned because I'll never play this game.)

This is easily the worst game I have ever played. To make things worse, I was one of those fuckers who donated on Kickstarter. I got to the first boss then broke my copy. Fuck thiis game.

Also, where the fuck are the Vita and 3DS versions?

"Mejor que nada" dice, la madre que le parió...

For all of the presentational deficiencies, bad writing/voice acting, boring music, poor exclamation of its mechanics, and incredibly cheap difficulty spikes, the game might’ve been salvaged if the core mechanics felt good to play, but they really really don’t. Feels like they regressed all the way back to Mega Man 1 design wise. Thankfully this game’s colossal dumpster fire resulting in bringing actual Mega Man back from the grave, but even beyond the mismanaged Kickstarter it really shouldn’t feel like innumerable steps back were taken from ANY Mega Man

esse jogo foi um golpe e ninguém me convencerá do contrário

Ridiculous difficulty spikes litter the game, not unlike cheap insta-kill traps litter each individual level.
Once flow is reached, fun can be had. But some bullshit, seemingly unavoidable the first time around, death will be just around the corner, lurking, waiting to stink up the joint.

A similar situation with marvel vs capcom infinite, y'all have a hate boner, calm down

i couldn't even get past the first level because of how bored i was.

Everything that could go wrong with a massive kickstarter went wrong with this one. Really not good. 1 extra point for some of the art.

2/10

one time i did a playthrough of this where i pound every input to the number keys and it was a fun time, other than that this games aids liquid

I will sumarize the badness of this with 3 sentences

the E-tanks you can get in the level dissapear after you die

the Final boss & their projectile and the background are the same color

and finally
jumps of faith into spikes

It's not the worst thing in the world if you know what you're getting yourself into. I liked having a dash, a sword, energy refills found within the stages instead of being random drops, energy tanks I could refuel myself

But I imagine I should probably just play Mega Man X if that's the case, huh?

Oh, and the final boss is trash.

And I know
I know I've let you down
I've been a fool to myself

this is a pretty funny joke, alright now let's see the real game................oh.......................oh god how embarrassing.

made me cry like an anime fan on prom night

I'm going to force gamers to be nice to this game. Honestly my favorite movement controls in a 2D platformer period, the dash is just so fluid yet weighty (short/long dashes) and the Rayman-esque ledge grab works great. RAY DLC is godlike too and for $25 you get way more content (and imo way better content) than Mega Man 11 at 30.

Without all the context for behind-the-scenes Kickstarter drama, this is an incredibly average game with a ridiculous difficulty spike toward the end.

I, however, backed it for $286 like a dummy. Being a Mega Man fan in 2013 makes you do some crazy things. Had to take a step back to try and judge it more fairly, but it's still pretty rough.

KEIJI INAFUNE IS ABOUT TO MAKE YOU HIS BITCH.

Suck It Down.

Even the voice actors are bored of it
