List of movies the credits of Mighty No. 9 are longer than.

Did take a bit of this from Emanuel Cool's review of The Lego Movie, he's on Letterboxd, shoutout to him.
(Also I marked this game as abandoned because I'll never play this game.)

For all of the presentational deficiencies, bad writing/voice acting, boring music, poor exclamation of its mechanics, and incredibly cheap difficulty spikes, the game might’ve been salvaged if the core mechanics felt good to play, but they really really don’t. Feels like they regressed all the way back to Mega Man 1 design wise. Thankfully this game’s colossal dumpster fire resulting in bringing actual Mega Man back from the grave, but even beyond the mismanaged Kickstarter it really shouldn’t feel like innumerable steps back were taken from ANY Mega Man
It's not the worst thing in the world if you know what you're getting yourself into. I liked having a dash, a sword, energy refills found within the stages instead of being random drops, energy tanks I could refuel myself
But I imagine I should probably just play Mega Man X if that's the case, huh?
Oh, and the final boss is trash.

I'm going to force gamers to be nice to this game. Honestly my favorite movement controls in a 2D platformer period, the dash is just so fluid yet weighty (short/long dashes) and the Rayman-esque ledge grab works great. RAY DLC is godlike too and for $25 you get way more content (and imo way better content) than Mega Man 11 at 30.
Without all the context for behind-the-scenes Kickstarter drama, this is an incredibly average game with a ridiculous difficulty spike toward the end.
I, however, backed it for $286 like a dummy. Being a Mega Man fan in 2013 makes you do some crazy things. Had to take a step back to try and judge it more fairly, but it's still pretty rough.
