the best thing about this game is that after it flopped and midway went bankrupt, warner formed NRS and the MK9 reboot was born

El mayor bait que me comi en mi vida.

É loucura como um jogo tão ruim teve tanta influência na franquia

Me julguem

i think this game sucks but my nostalgia tinted glasses make me love this game

Mediocre crossover que se quedó a medias en todo lo que ofrecía, pero que sentó las bases para lo que estaría por llegar

Reminder this is canon in MK lore

I really love this game. finished the the story except the final boss in 1 day. the final boss really pissed me off. it was too much....but I beat it......after 10 tries :(

It seems like some franchises are not meant to cross over with anybody. Mortal Kombat is one of those franchises. For example, that Street Fighter x Mortal Kombat crossover that never was. Why didn't it happen? Because nobody wants to see Chun-Li being sliced in half by Kung Lao. Applying it to this game, nobody wants to see Wonder Woman having her spine pulled out in a bloody mess.

So if we can't have the DC characters being mutilated in a Day of the Dead-level bloodbath, then tone down the gameplay and fatalities until there's barely any violence. But, it's still a Mortal Kombat game, and what is MK without the violence and blood? Plus, there's nothing in this game that hasn't been done better in previous MK games.

Never mind the fact that it's DC, it could have been anybody else and it wouldn't make a difference. I love my crossovers fun and wacky (Capcom vs. SNK, Marvel vs. Capcom, etc.), but this doesn't feel like it's even trying.

the roster of Injustice with all the charm of MK Armageddon

HOLY FUCK KANO STEPS ON SOMEONES HEAD WTFFFF

Fucking hell I only played this for 4 hours and it had already given me a massive headache.

I know this game is infamous but I always thought that hey, maybe people are slightly overreacting... nah this game is ass.

The story is incredibly short, you can knock it out in 4 hours, it's also horrible and a complete mess. You play it from both franchises sides. So you can play the MK side first and then the DC side or vice versa. They're supposed to happen simultaneously but I could not piece them together at all half the time. Also the entire thing is just people constantly either misunderstanding each other or being taken over by the "Rage Force" or whatever, for 3 and a half hours until the very end where only two of the characters actually team up against the real big bad.

The gameplay is.... well I can see why they moved away from 3D arena fighters and back to 2D cause it's really not great.

Every character feels the exact same with slight variations in animations, that's about it. So many animations are just universally used and it's so weird.

Also, there are some serious balancing issues here, some characters are useless whereas others are OP af cough The Flash cough

Oh and not to mention the constantly fluctuating AI, they either just sit there and take everything or they become the most skilled player on the planet, juggling you for 30 seconds taking down almost all of your health, or they just stand back and spam the same move 5 times over. It became a fucking nightmare to play through.

The gamemodes are lacking severely.
In single-player all you have is Arcade, Story, Challenge and practise. No option for just 1 match fights against the AI or anything like that.

then for Multi-Player you just have... fight.

and then online

and that's it.

There's no extras, no collectables, no unlockables. well supposedly except two characters but either my game is broken or the game just lies to your face because when you beat the story modes you unlock Shao Khan and Darkseid... and yet if you check the character roster they are nowhere to be fucking found, it's so weird.

The voice acting is horrible and mostly terribly miscast, the character designs are okay, except for literally all three of the women characters who have the skimpiest outfits known to man for some reason, oh and also massive jugs because why not.

The few things I did like about the game?

The stage transitions are pretty neato. I liked most of the DC character designs, while yeah they are very basic they do give off a cool comic book feel. I like some of the Heroic Brutalities, I know it sucks we couldn't get proper fatalities in the game but the substitution ain't the worst thing in the world. and the gameplay, when the AI isn't suddenly on steroids, can be fairly entertaining.

however, again, after only playing this for four hours and beating the story, I am already fucking sick of it. I don't wanna see this again please and thank you.

Look, I know this game has a dark history as to why it's so rushed and bad, but that doesn't make it any less rushed or bad.

If you're interested in learning why this game... is.

The guy covers the history behind the disaster very well :))

I’m not going to lie when I say Mortal Kombat is my favorite game franchise of all time mainly because it was the first game I ever played when I was 2 years old. I love the gore, the characters, the story, the secrets, and inside stuff that true MK fans know about, but adding DC characters was a bit dicey, but surprisingly works. The game’s story is pretty straight forward with both universes colliding and each sides’ main villains are turning into one and controlling everyone else through a type of berserk mind control. You can play as various characters in separate story modes, but it’s nothing special.

The Arcade mode is where it’s at with all your favorite MK characters and DC characters such as Batman, Superman, Catwoman, and even Captian Marvel. Each character on the DC side has their signature powers and they are awesome to play as. The game’s combat system is more like it’s rooted stripping away combat styles, weapons, and complicated combos with just fast-paced fun. The animations are smoother, controls respond better, and the game really packs a punch.

Of course, it’s hard to please both sides of the fence, but the MK side takes a hit with no gore. I guess Midway couldn’t get the DC guys to allow Sub-Zero to rip Superman’s head off so the Fatalities are pretty lame. They feature no gore, but just really brutal deaths, and the DC guys never kill so they are Heroic Brutalities…yeah what BS. This really screws the MK fans, but the DC guys are very tight arsed about everything, and that’s why I still think this should have been Marvel instead (the last Wolverine game was gory as sin). Some DC HB’s are OK at best. Joker’s one of my favorites with him shooting a fake gun and dancing around in his silly fashion, but most are pretty lame like Green Lantern just running around a character a lot until they die…yeah really exciting. The MK characters are a little more retro with Scorpion turning characters into char so this is OK. I just wish the game would have been gory, but what’s here is good enough.

The MK guys really captured the characters of the DC personalities like Catwoman’s slinky sexy movements, Joker’s maniacal pranks, Batman’s precision martial arts, and Superman’s brute force. It makes MK fans really want to try DC characters without sticking to their favorites. Of course, the roster could have been a lot bigger, but thanks to Midway tanking extra downloadable characters will never happen like planned.

There are some nice new features to the game such as a test-your-might type mini-game during Free Fall Kombat and Klose Kombat which allows you to grab your opponent but the camera zooms in and you press buttons to trick them until get every hit in for 30% damage. Freefall is the same except you have to hit RB before you hit the ground to unleash an attack on them. This changes up the fighting and adds a nice touch, but could have been a bit more. The new Rage mode allows you to take advantage of this berserk mind control and makes you nearly invincible for a certain amount of time. Along with this combo breakers return, but that’s about it.

The game looks really good and is the first MK game on a next-gen console. Characters are rendered in sharp detail and have more detail than ever before. Each DC character has their signature costume and looks amazing, but the music is very lacking. The levels are great and wonderfully designed, and the multiplayer is what will make you keep coming back. While the game lacks the MK gore the fact that two highly unlikely worlds collide makes it great enough to play.

Note: Kollector’s Edition: If you want to shell out the extra $20 you can get a nice new cover drawn by Alex Ross, making-of DVD, and a 16-page comic book penned by series creator John Tobias. While it doesn’t seem to enticing it’s great for MK fans or fans of comics.

Ao menos teve o mk9 dps kkkkkkkkkk

bat man….. i am shao kahn…… unveil to me your testicles!!!!

Not amazing by any means, but a good time.

eu surtava com isso quando eu era menor

Se alguém me chama pra jogar isso, eu desfaço amizade na hora

"Let's make a riff on Marvel vs. Capcom but do it with Mortal Kombat and DC characters!"
"Great idea! I can't wait to see Batman and Superman get fatalitied, that'll be sick."
"Oh, you see, the rightsholders don't want us doing anything too graphic with the DC folks, so the fatalities have to go."
"Um...ok. Well, we can still try to put together a compelling story about these two conflicting universes and the ways their respective philosophies are parallel but distinctly opposed, right?"
"Nah, I'm thinking we do some multiverse shenanigans where no one dies and everyone is friends by the end."
"...so then where will the good parts of the game come in so this doesn't feel like a soulless cash-grab?"
"Good parts?"

Yet again fuck you I love this

this is like one of those scam chinese mobile games get this shit out of my face

this game is aggravating, but it's sometimes(?) fun. the story is an absolute mess and not as so-bad-its-good as i hoped it would be, but it can be fucking hilarious occasionally. the gameplay is a bit too janky for me, but it's kinda funny seeing how the dc characters were done in a fighting game pre-injustice. i would've done an arcade run with every character but i accidentally declined to continue while i was doing scorpion's and decided i've had enough of this filth

Cara, nem eu acredito que eu joguei esse jogo...
Realmente, só joguei masterpiece na minha vida

4/10

Had a lot of fun playing this with my friend when we were young.
