A fun party style gem on the Dreamcast. Not too much depth, but fun to mindlessly mess around with friends.

This could have been Sega's answer to Smash if the Dreamcast had survived. A fun party fighter that's perfect for casual or expert players.

I liked the first game better.

oh my god! he's not even human!

don't wanna a hear a single more "solid beginning may lead to a perfect ending"

It sure was a game, me and a friend beat it in a single sitting, wasn’t expecting anything long but it was still fun

right up there next to soulcalibur for best dreamcast game. love the characters love the action
do not ever remake this game!!!! u know u can’t count on capcom worth a dog’s dick to do it right

I would gladly blast every copy of Smash Bros into the Oort cloud if it meant we got a Power Stone 3

This is a fun game for hanging out with a friend or two and messing around. There's not much else to it, in my opinion.

A fun party game. I wish it had a block or quick-dodge button.

the morphing stage layouts are a fun novelty but get old quick. every play session i've had with family and friends was typically over after we tried every stage once. this game would've been infinitely better with just regular arenas with some standard gimmicks here and there.

really sucks that power stone 3 will probably never happen

Start the game and fuck shit up, simple and fast paced party fighter game

This game's got soul for days. Fun character designs, nice stages and really lively battles. Sadly didn't play with a full group of 4 but it was fun nonetheless. Dealing with people in their powered up forms is a massive pain though.

Packed with content, although still missing some QoL improvements, like the original.

Game is kinda better but I like the soundtrack in 1 more

There's virtually 0 records regarding the production of Power Stone 2, but if the likes of Itsuno or whomever else in the team said what they released was an unfinished beta, I wouldn't be surprised at all. Almost every single angle of this game expresses an idea they didn't fully commit to. From the oversimplified combat, to the laughably short arcade mode, lack of a story or character endings, and menus that are drab and lifeless if not just taken from Power Stone 1's assets. Something tells me that item shop and mixing mechanic is what they sunk most of their time into, and realized they had no time or budget left to make the rest of the game.

But even with all that, the expanded 4-player fights can be fun, it becomes quite a romp with the much more dynamic stages! This can definitely be a good time with friends, I just wish it was a more fleshed-out game. There's aspects that make it an overall weaker product to the original Power Stone, most especially its core design.

There's certain games that personally feel complete and true to the experience when played with 4 people, any lesser amount of people while still fun, doesn't bring that same joy/complete feeling. This game holds some of the greatest memories I've had with 4 player local multiplayer. From the unique artstyle, awesome/creative stages, diverse/cool characters, incredibly chaotic, whacky, and weird items. And ultimately, the simple to understand fighting mechanics, are what makes this one of the most charming and exciting local multiplayer experiences I've had. The co-op story mode is also pretty nice, allowing you to chose whatever path/stage you progress through is awesome. Personally, never really get to experience 4 player local multiplayer much with friends as I once did, so it's rare I play this these days, but whenever I get the chance, I'm always laughing and generally excited as I was when I was a kid. Only critique I would truly say is, I wish there was more stage choices, after repeating over the same 6 or so stages(Original Mode), it can get a bit tiring seeing the same locals over and over, but again the few stages provided are still none the less wonderfully made.

nerd emoji dude best character

"Liking the idea of something" is a lot different than liking something. I understand how anyone can see this and think "I like the idea of this." It's y'all who have laid hands on it that still feel this way that confuse me.
