chiamiamolo capostipite dei giochi.io fa comunque cagare

this game got me through computer class in 12th grade so yknow what? respect

I spent a day at a high school one time in 6th grade and the guy I was with got in trouble for playing this in class

This is a fun game but it's also clearly something that you'd only play if you're incredibly bored or just feel completely drained at the end of the day. It's a bit more fair than something like Agar.io though, where it doesn't just fare players who are the biggest out of the lot.

It's like a zoomer's version of Pac-Man, but competitive. Pretty fun time killer honestly. Still play every once in while even to this day.

One only need to look at classics like Tetris or Minesweeper to realize that simplicity doesn't preclude greatness, and of the .io games I find Slither.io the one that flirts with greatness the most. Unlike agar.io, where the big cells will always eat the little cells, the mechanics here (the snake that bites another snake dies) make the game slightly more skill-based as well as more engaging and flexible, because whether you're just starting out or you've grown to the size of a Leviathan, you can still play aggressively, conservatively, or in between. The fact that snakes release energy when they die is another great touch; especially when a big snake dies, it sparks a huge free-for-all for the energy it leaves behind, which inevitably leads to more dead snakes (and more energy) in the scrimmage. The servers are beautiful chaos, and you are in the middle of that chaos constantly re-assessing risk and reward - it's very engaging stuff.

I mentioned earlier that this game flirts with greatness - what ultimately kills it is its medium. The servers are typically quite laggy (understandable) and there is a lot of stuttering and slowdown even on the low graphical settings. Unless you get lucky with a good server, this unfortunately makes most play sessions hugely frustrating.

would be perfect for a few snakes in my life

A GENTE TÁ BLINDADO, A GENTE TÁ TIPO PETER PARKER, USANDO A ROUPA DO HOMEM ARANHA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

agario but better not by much tho

It's like Pac-Man but without the levels or Pac-Man

relatable

.io é tudo cancerigeno pqp.

Even now in 2021 I still find it fun to play occasionally, it's actually good and fair as a game unlike agar.io.

there's been far worse .io games. this one honestly might be the best one.

i don't really like them, though. it feels like i lose because of faults not my own far too often.

Wasted so much time pretending to study while playing this in the university library. There's no dopamine rush like the one when a big ol' chungus dies right next to you and you beat everyone else to the spoils.

The better version of Agar.io

Best part of this game was the content milking from YouTubers around 2016

more fun than agario cuz it requires "skill (lol)" as opposed to agario where you just have to be bigger than the others.

also its fun when you circle a worm and they helplessly wait for their demise.
good for "no thoughts, head empty" feel if you're into that sorta games. :D
