In season 2 you got play as clem instead of Lee. She has grown up about (2 years) and goes of on her own adventure with a new companion. It's been a while but in hindsight this felt a lot more like actually making decisions to survive in the wilderness of the twd world then the first. Clem's character gets a lot of development and I remember there were actually 8 different endings!
Same mechanical flaws as its predecessor, but a significant dip in writing and audio mixing. Clementine isn't as compelling a protagonist, with her choices rarely being important until the last episode. Several pointless deaths tie up loose threads in the plot. The journey is still fun though, with Kenny's return and progression being the highlight.
If you want to make a game about a young girl, then make a game about a young girl.
Don’t treat her like some generic adult protagonist. Don’t have her do every pivotal little thing. Definitely don’t give her a sit-down with the villain where he explains how she’s just like him.
Decent writing and voice acting aren’t enough. It’s how she exists in the gameworld and how that world responds. If her subjectivity, her vulnerability, her circumscribed choices are truly important, then design the entire game around them.
Because if I don’t believe in Clementine, then what’s the point?

This game was pretty rough. None of the characters were too memorable to me and all looked similar stylistically. I was pumped when Kenny came back and stuck by his side. Though I am doing a reply where I only give sassy responses and that has lead to a much funnier game and far more interesting dialogue with the cast. So, maybe with that knowledge I'd rate it higher, but after the first game it was a huge let down.
