Yet another western RPG that could have been incredible if the act of playing it weren’t constant misery.

Very tiring and clunky to play but I wouldn't say it is bad.

The first try into that weird slavic world of Witcher. Both hits and misses the mark by miles. A really odd experience, but really worth the try.
At least they didn't screw it up as much as Witcher 2

Played this when it came out, the gameplay was weird but I fell in love with the story and the world.

Gameplay is extremely clunky, with way too much backtracking, repetitive combat, lack of character model variety, but somehow still has some charm in its delivery due to the effort the devs put to make this game happen.
The writing is, in my opinion, fitting to the setting when looking at the books and has a lot of strong points for staying true to it in spirit.

Can't really recommend playing it, though.

Who put this rhythm game in my RPG?

Clunky as all hell but a solid start to an RPG series that would go on to be a major influence on the genre. While it has issues it is a good start to a solid series.

An old and pretty obsolete game that is not afraid to show its age, but with a great narrative and a very unique, mysterious aesthetic, especially compared to its sequels.
Gameplay is pretty bland, but the game's narrative beats are very engaging.

Solid story, your actions have impact on it and on the other games of the trilogy. repetitive combat

70/100

I'm not gonna say some brokebrain "peak slav kino" shit over this game but it has a pretty comfy atmosphere and endearing world.

This is the version that I played. Apparently the original version was even worse. This fixes bugs, there's new textures and better translations and shit, but it's still a boring game.

jedna s najbardziej sprawiedlif, ukuratnyh gier
sprawiedliwa, ukuratna grq

Very old but still pretty fun, just a lot of running about, and no fast travel can make it tedious when the missions deliberately sent you to and fro across the map.

I'm sure the story is great but it's just daaaaaaaaaaamn unplayable

a mecanica desse jogo me da nojo

A solid game, but also a bit underwhelming. Did not enjoy it as much as I thought/hoped I would. The middle part goes on forever, and isn't terribly interesting either.

The combat is really bad and I usually don't mind about it. I plan to give it another shot later though.

+characters from the books - story easy to digest even if you havent read them
+monster variety
+side quests
combat could be worse
characters look decent
-bugs
-combat gets repetitive
-lots of backtracking with few means of fast travel

teen me: I'm collecting these pervert cards only because they are collectibles, and for no other base horny reason

Extremely unpopular opinion... I am not a big fan of the Witcher series much at all, but despite it's clunkiness and dated aspects in the characters and some of the tone, this is probably my favorite of the three games in the series.

I won't go in to a rant about it too much, but essentially I just like the story and simplicity of the conflict in this one the most. It stands on it's own incredibly well and the story of both Geralt's identity and ultimate confrontation with the Wild Hunt and the more personal and isolated unrest happening in the city stuck with me the most of any game in the series.

I probably have more minor nitpicks with this game than the others, but the story itself is the only one in the series I really actively enjoy a lot.

This game has a lot of problems. The gameplay doesn't hold up to well, combat can get pretty repetitive and annoying to some people, the models for everything look kinda weird, a good amount of quests are just annoying fetch quests, chapter 3 is a huge slog, chapter 4 is just kinda weird, the writing ranges from good to pretty bad, and there's definitely something to say about objectifying women when the game encourages you to bang women and then turn them into collectable nude pokemon cards.

But with all that said, something about this title is just really appealing to me. It's just so endearing. You look at CD Projekt Red's current titles, which are massive open world multi-million dollar budget games (some of which aren't as favored as others) and then you look a this cute title, where it all began. I don't know, it just hits the right spot for me.

proof that you dont always need to play the first entries to get into a series. while not necessarily bad, Witcher 1 is tedious, boring, and just a poorly aged rpg from a flegling cdprojektred. also slav joke whatever lol
