Best. Indie. Game. Ever.

I've just finished Firewatch. I loved it. If you didn't watch it/played it already, please do. The story is interesting, the game is not long. The story is amazing and has a cool twist you won't expect.

Good story and beautiful graphics/location. These two elements made for a good time with this "walking sim"

Great game, sad, essentially an interactive visual novel but enjoyed every second of the 5.5 hours I played it.

Firewatch probably made me feel the most immersed in a story I've ever been, as far back as I can remember. I felt feelings of joy, surprise, sadness, and so much tension. Despite being a walking simulator I couldn't stop peeking over my shoulders because of how tense everything was. Although the story itself is full of plot holes and obscure character motivations (as I discovered after beating the game and reading some discussions), the way the story is told makes you really immersed. The dialogue in this game (most of which you control for your character) feels really natural and genuine, and really makes you connect with the characters.

As for the gameplay itself, it's as complex as walking simulators go, but at least the game allows you to run.

One thing that I absolutely hated was on the technical side: the frequent fps drops. Every time some terrain would load in the distance, I would lose anywhere from 10-50 fps for a split second, so be warned if that kind of thing is a turn-off for you.

I really enjoyed my time with Firewatch, but due to its short nature and really impactful story, it's probably a game that I would never play again.

I really like this game. I can't really put into words why but I enjoyed it a lot and the ending was one of the only times I've come close to crying from a video game. The ending reminded me of how I felt after the ending of Cowboy Bebop, where I watched the entire credits waiting to see if we would find out more about what happens to the characters and knowing we wouldn't. Even though the game was so short, I couldn't help but build an emotional attachment to the characters, and I wanted to see them be happy. I did have some issues with the game that broke my immersion (some buggy UI, excessive use of invisible walls, got softlocked once, and the part where you need to explore the cave but they close off the entrance behind you without telling you), but honestly I don't think those issues are meaningful enough to impact my review too much.

7/10

I truly have never played a game like this. Even though it seems to be a pretty common idea of basically saying this is a walking simulator, I think myself and everyone else agrees that while true, this offers something much more. The general feel of this is super nice and I was invested the entire time, and it truly is because of both main voice-actors doing incredible performances and line readings. Both of them truly carry the weight of what makes this game good.

I do admire the look of the game and I won't lie when I say the ending did shock me a little bit, but I am more disappointed that there wasn't something more with the two central characters. That was what I cared about the most and the story went a separate way - which I still liked - I just wanted more of Henry and Delilah. I can see why so many love this game and I did enjoy it, but the conclusion seemed a little less than what I had dreamed. Slight recommendation.

the ending was so lacklaster however the REST OF THE GAME was so good. pretty much a walking simulator but the conversations with delilah and the constant suspence and spookyness in the game made it so much fun and made me want to keep playing!!

I did not get what I was expecting. Still good nonetheless

Brilliant narrative with fine tuned execution. Sometimes the engrossing world is very easy to get lost in (which is very embarrassing for me during tense narrative beats).

The introduction to Fire watch is captivating and intriguing. The simple text on a blank screen detailing the lives of Henry and Julie makes you want to know more, and it makes you feel for the characters of Henry and Julie, even though you haven't even met them yet.

Fire watch did stuff different for me, and i truly appreciate it. The gameplay of fire watch is unique and i love it. Walking around the Shosane national park in the Wyoming wilderness makes you feel so much shit all at once. At the beginning it makes you feel curious and nervous, as it feels so big and scary, and you barely know how to use your dumb map. Then it makes you feel scared, and lonely, while still calm and captivated by the art of the trees (which, sidenote, the art direction this game took is fantastic, it just adds to the game and makes it feel more alive). The feelings that the woods give you is based off the story, which was short and sweet and beautiful.

The relationship between henry and Delilah is super intriguing and incredibly well done. While you never see her, you feel connected to Delilah as she accompanies you through the entirity of the story over your radio. The story itself is fantastic, as it ramps up into a giant mystery with a powerful message. Not too much to say on that, just thats it's very well done.

Overall, Fire watch is a lot of things at once. It's calming, its terrifying, it's intriguing. And somehow it works to feel connected. Connected between the story, connected between the characters and connected between the world.

Just go play it man, you'd be doing yourself one hell of a favour

Very nice story, i loved the lighting a lot

amazing music and beautiful visuals make for an amazing atmosphere but the story wasn't the best.

I had never played a game like Firewatch. An investigation and mystery game where you are a man called Henry who takes care of fires, etc. in a forest while talking to a woman called Delilah via a radio. Delilah is your boss and the game is about mysteries that appear during the adventure and Delilah helping you to solve them. It's an incredible game that leaves you feeling pressured, wanting to know what's going on, however, it's also a human game that doesn't present anything paranormal but rather a real and scary situation. It's a touching game where you get attached to Henry and his story, along with Delilah. I still don't know if I'll go for platinum, because in my opinion it's not a game for that, however, the experience was incredible, like a story of investigation and suspense told through a game.

just an awesome game all around, my only sort of “complaint” really is just the length, though i think from a certain pov it helps, ending left me feeling empty, was perfect, despite it being a walking simulator pretty much the ending, voice acting, and just the pure emotion in it easily make up for it

Loved the game, just tink that the the ending of the game was a bit surprising to say the least
