Alright, let's dive into "Call of Duty: Black Ops." Now, this game takes us back to the Cold War era, and let me tell you, the story is another banger. The gunplay? Solid as ever. But you know what really stole the show for me? The zombie mode. I mean, damn, it was so much fun that I forgot about everything else.

Sure, "Black Ops" may not be perfect, but it's got enough going for it to keep you hooked from start to finish. If you're into Cold War-themed shooters with intense gameplay and a killer zombie mode, this one's definitely worth a shot.

Nunca tinha jogado BO1 antes, quando lançou eu não tinha um PS3, e quando eu comprei um PS3, já era a época do BO2, então nem hypei de pegar o BO1 na época só pra jogar, até pq eu só ligava pra MP (fui jogar a campanha do bo2 anos depois). Enfim, anos depois, mais precisamente 14 anos depois, peguei pra jogar pelo hype do BO6 e caralho, que arrependimento de não ter jogado antes, que JOGASSO

Campanha absurda cara, absurda mesmo, BO1 é o Clube da Luta dos FPS, Mason é sepa meu protagonista favorito da saga depois desse jogo, que personagem fudido de foda, Reznov sendo dublado pelo genial Gary Oldman merece um paragrafo a parte, baita personagem, baita plot twist também, todas as missões são incrivelmente bem feitas, bizarro comparar MW3 do ano passado com a campanha desse jogo, parece outra saga, BO1 preza pelo roteiro e pelos personagens e MW3 é só um tutorial broxa pro warzone, torcer pra BO6 voltar com uma campanha foda porque achei a do Cold War fudida de foda.

BO1 em campanha entrou no meu Top 3 de COD, fácil.

OK why didn't I play this title any sooner? What the hell. This game in short, is the best Call of Duty title in my opinion. There's nothing better than a game that has conspiracies and sci-fi embedded in a Vietnam war landscape. The story was absolutely alluring and deserves a well-worthy remake. The characters were well-written and some scenes just won't get afraid to get dark and intense. Most CoD titles do so but this one takes the cake. I had a blast playing the Five zombies map with my uncle whenever I would stay over. This game also f*cks with your mind. 9/10 from me as I do think the gameplay loop does wear off near the end. Recommended and a must-play!

The original black ops , this installment truly felt like a interesting fresh take on the call of duty formula. The game felt like a spy thriller in many ways, the big reveal at the end was hinted at expertly and the gameplay reallyput you in the mind of alex mason.
As always, the story needed a complementary soundtrack and the music works really well with the scenes on play. Ofcourse RIP soundtrack from world of war was my favourite.
On that note , the characters were very memorable. Woods had a traditional personality for these games but alex and his fucked up mind was intriguing. His handler and weaver were memorable and so was the british scientist for that one mission. And victor reznov , talk about a memorable character.
I have some minor concerns like how npcs can block you and will be extra slow in follow missions etc but nothing that took the enjoyment away.
Black ops 1 and 2 are the exact kind of games and stories you want from a call of duty franchise installment and black ops 1 specifically builds on world at war and sets up black ops 2 expertly.
Totally worth a try even to this day !

Rating this mainly for the campaign, but the zombies isn't bad (though very overrated in my opinion; the rest of the series is better). I think people kinda overrate this one in general? The guns are mostly pretty bad and all feel super weak, the textures are kinda flat, and the animations feel really stiff, but the story is pretty good. It flip-flops between being legitimately fantastic and being slog shootouts, and the ending is one of the worst in the series (you know it's true), but I can really respect an entry into a game series known for repetition and monotony to go completely batshit like this does. The psychological thriller-mystery aspects are something the series has tried to do a couple other times but they've never come close to being as good as this one is, and the winks at major American conspiracy theories is always a delight from Treyarch's CoDs. Overall, not bad, but not as good as people make it out to be; Black Ops 2 and Modern Warfare 2 are both easily better than this. Plus, I have some personal hang-ups about using Vietnam as a backdrop for mindless entertainment, and showcasing atrocities for "woahhhhh" or "yeeeeeaaahh" factors, but eh. This was before CoD was Fed-funded, so it's just insensitive at worst.
