This game is a little weird for me because I don't remember Kirby's Adventure that well since I played it over a year ago, but for this game in particular, it's alright. I don't know if this was the case for Adventure, but the levels here are a lot shorter than I expected. It also feels like the difficulty was toned down for the remake, and I honestly don't mind that. At the same time, levels feel like they end really quickly and that might be because of the lowered difficulty. Checking the times for beating this game and Adventure, I took almost half the time on this one compared to Adventure. I guess I don't really mind since it was a good game to sit down and beat in one sitting, but I don't think this one will stick with me after a while. Overall, just an average Kirby game and a pretty good remake of the original since it feels much smoother to play.

I thought I just wasn't a Kirby guy. Turns out I was playing the wrong games. This game is REALLY GOOD. The sprite art is beautiful. The music is great (I have to say, though, some of the songs get tiring after being played for a long time). The gameplay is pure, classic Kirby and good fun. My only problem with the game is that the levels feel kinda samey. It can get very tiring when a lot of the levels feel the same. Speaking of stages, though, that one stage, man. It made me so happy. If you've played the game, you know exactly which one I'm talking about. And the MINIGAMES!! AIR GRIND IS MY JAM BRO, IF YOU DON'T LIKE AIR GRIND YOU'RE DEAD TO ME

...also, I just realized this is a remake of Adventure and not Dream Land. But can you really blame me?

Controls a bit more smoothly than the NES Adventure (and at a constant framerate!), but I feel like this game loses something compared to it in the aesthetics department, with floating platforms, no more 3-D sections in Butter Building, and so forth. I'm neutral to the existence of the Meta Knightmare mode, as well. Haven't played this in multiplayer, but I imagine being locked to within a screen or two of each other would make it a little awkward to unlock certain secrets, while not really adding that much outside of the bosses.

More fun and interesting than Dream Land, but it was only after beating 75% of it that I heard this version is considered inferior to the original.

In any case, this didn’t leave the best first impression, but it did get more fun as it went.

it was good to have before the 3d classics version of adventure came out but unless you're really nostalgic for the gba vibe it is just an inferior remake to me

It's Kirby's Adventure, so I certainly can't say it's bad, but I find some of the aesthetic choices (particularly the backgrounds) weird. Ultimately, I do think I prefer this version, though, just because the framerate doesn't constantly struggle.

Fun and short. The perfect Kirby Formula

Cool remake. I played this in a discord call and everyone made fun of me for being bad at it. 7/10

To me, Nightmare is the definitive Gameboy Kirby experience. Although Super Star has ideas that far surpass Nightmare, the refined mechanics and flashiness of Nightmare make up the difference and then some. Though I found this game a little frustrating to 100%, the experience was certainly worth it. I found the game delightfully straight-forward with HAL really getting in the groove for their addition of mini-games within the main game. Also delivers some of my favourite art and areas in the series, the Fountain of Dreams is iconic for a reason.

When I think of Kirb games this is the one I think of. It has all the notable tropes and is just a comfy experience.

Kirby's adventure mais en mieux concrètement.

"I NEED A MONSTAH TO CLOBBAH THAT DERE KIRBEH!" - King Dedede, from the lyrics of the intro to Kirby Right Back at Ya!

The first half of the pink puffball's GBA journey comes in the form of a remake of his second tale. Applying a fresh coat of paint does wonders for this game by adding some minute details that brings alot of charm for the series. The Copy Abilities have never looked so stylish before, and the addition of some new minigames are a neat bonus. Gameplay-wise, it is similar to it's NES counterpart, but a lot more smoother. Being able to play as Meta Knight for the first time in the series was a treat too. While it's not my favorite Kirby game, it is a nice go-to for some simple suck-n-puffs. The idea to introduce less experienced players through this game while tying into the anime's release was really cool to see here. Another example of a remake handled well!

So we back in the miiiine YeAyEa yEaaaa and the first thing of note is that I have dug out the fossil that is Kirby's Adventure, modernizing the shit out of that shit. Embrace modernity! Yeah well, nuh huuh. This ii the Kiwami of Kirby's Adventure, by which I mean just play the original, unless you really loved The Amazing Mirror and Squeak Squad and you desperately need your fix with another entry in the graphics department. Kirby very bleeh eepy :p it's short enough I don't really mind, though, it's like watching that mess of a Lion's King remake. Dedede still plays the role of an unsupervised toddler pretty well, very impressive. Never give people like him an excuse because they'll damn well milk it for all it's worth. Yo ass is going to Brazil

The first sin of capital G Gaming is a remake that decreases the difficulty. Lo and behold who does exactly that. Imagine waking up and b like "uh huh yes sir, I've made the goal game easier for these babies... get me that raise NOW!!" and wow we have truly fallen as a human society, not in this economy bucko! Less will you see enemies go "GIVE ME YOUR HAT", the sentiment slipping their mind as Kirby completely obliterates them on the go. Aw nahw what da hell ong they removed da funny toortle 😭 for its controversial statemebts on immigration. Misstep lil bro. If you're wonderin which came first, the chicken or the egg, I'll raise a better question: Fountain of Dreams track from Melee or thid game. Ehhh who knows, both produced in-house they might have just been inspired by the GBA track and hired a whole ass concert!

The best use of the remake would be to sell it at a high price online, huuuuh or play it with 4 people for a truly undescribable experience (too much chaos to describe anything). Picture that Waddle Dee in the couch surrounded by 4 Kirbys "the council has decided your fate" oh he's DEAD dead, finna be sucked promptly. There's an extra mode for kino enjoyers however, Meta Knightmare lets you play a certain somebody (try to guess who) and it's kind of the "You can now play as Luigi" of Kirby games, like cool ig, nice moveset bro leave some women for the rest of us. You get to use the Meta Knight to beat the Meta Knight, very cool, game. Tbh this is second hand information to me, I could have cared less. I was busy reuniting with Ball Kirby and going through the stylishly static backgrounds.

Overall, weird time. The bonus modes are cooler, Kirby is absolutely shredding, and on the other hand they removed the rotating floor in Butter Building which was the most impressive part of the original game lowkey? There's always a "BUT" waiting. BUT no. What that frick does the title even suggests. Yes, he is in Dream Land. He do be yes. I guess Nightmare Adventure would sell less bcuz it sounds scary. It truly is Kirby's own Ohio.

they made a game about the smash bros characters

I have to say, whilst I still think this is a lot of fun, it did feel a bit more aimless this time round. Some of the stages feel quite directionless.

What can I say, world 5 really appeals to me. Don't know why.

Being a fan of the original Dreamland, as well as a little bit of experience playing Kirby's Adventure - I was happy to get into this and - yeah, it's short and sweet.

The abilities give you a whole playground of things to do, there's some fun secret stuff for 1-ups or access to more minigames on the menu, most of the game is just 1 giant linear playground that you can really do whatever you want in. Add in mixes and the BURNING ability and I see the appeal as a speedgame as well.

It's mostly a walk in the park difficulty-wise (as one should expect from a Kirby game) but the 7th world and pretty much the final does have some really creative and psuedo-challenging levels, along with a revamped Dedede fight that doesn't stray too far from the original but feels fresh and a new final boss that is at least kinda cool; making this feel like a nice, full package.

I didn't even get into Extra Mode or the minigames, so there's definitely a replayability factor here too. The music is good, graphically it looks nice and colorful at least on a brightened screen and I have nothing to complain about other than it being a little bit on the short side and not too far out of the box when even at this point we had some pretty revolutionary Kirby games.

BEATEN on 6/5/24.
