SHIVS BAYBEE YEAH. This is actually a really good time especially as a lil strategic thing to do kind of as a background task. The art is really cool in a minimalist kinda way. kinda looks like layers of construction paper. I enjoyed this one immensely

It's been a couple years since I last played this and I still stand by my original thoughts: this game would be better if it wasn't a roguelike. Bad RNG can make it easy to never get the specific cards you want, metaprogression is basically nonexistent, and there's almost no variety between runs because the areas and enemies themselves barely change.

Fun as fuck while in the middle of a single encounter, but everything around that is just kinda peepee poopoo and makes me wish it weren't a roguelike. Like, I mean, metaprogression isn't even mandatory for a roguelike but when you combine the poor metaprogression with samey runs it just feels... pointless?

I hate the spire (the Irish one this one is cool)

Not much I can say that hasn't been said already. It's just an amazing rougelike deckbuilder game that is crazy addicting and fleshed out.

This is the only rogue-like I ever connected with. I love the strategy and the progression. It's so satisfying to build a good deck where the cards all work together.

The daddy of a slew of cardlike games that would follow in its wake. Sometimes it's a struggle to get certain runs going, and the game is marred with some trap cards and relics, but the game's one of those polished easy to learn, hard to master types. And there's plenty of modded content available, though some are of questionable balance. But fun!

Starting a run of Slay the Spire is the same as time-skipping 30-90 minutes into the future. When it ticks correctly, it's impossible to put down. I just wish there were more characters to unlock.
