if i was gonna like any battle royale type game i think it would've been this one. the characters are great. tho take wayyy too long to unlock, which seems to be an unfortunate theme in these free to play character-based games, like valorant and overwatch 2. i've played like 5 hours of this and still haven't gotten a single new character. which i don't like!!! gibraltar is great don't get me wrong but let me try loba and seer they look so sick!!!
the real problem i have with games like this tho is i just don't like looting! i don't wanna spend like 10 minutes sneaking around the map trying to find a decent gun and ammo and armor only to die in the first combat opportunity i have because i'm not good yet. inventory management makes me anxious! i want to just have my little gun with enough ammo to last and play as a cute cowboy. is that so much to ask :'(
obv this complaint is more towards the genre than the game itself. if i were into this style of looter shooter gameplay then i think i'd love this game. just not for me sadly. bit too slow paced for my liking

With the amount of tired free-to-play battle royale’s that the gaming industry spews out every year, it’s refreshing to get one that’s actually… sorta good? I’m not saying it’s perfect by any means, but it’s certainly unique in ways that many aren’t.
I’d say its movement is probably its biggest advantage over other battle royale’s; running, sliding, and wall-jumping feels great, and the game would fundamentally not work the same way without these mechanics.
The legends all feel pretty unique — I only have like three, apart from the default ones — so I’m assuming a bit; but judging from the ones that I do have, they all feel wildly different, which can change gameplay up in cool ways.
Remember when Fortnite had a good map? and then proceeded to make a new one that was 10x worse? and then did it again? because I sure do! and the game was all the worse for it. Apex Legends does the smart thing, so instead of scrapping the old maps, they put them on… rotation?? what a fucking wild and crazy idea, honestly. (Thank you Respawn)
I will say that the game isn’t very accessible to new players, seeming as you have to play for around 30 hours to unlock a single legend; and on top of that, it doesn't even have a solo mode, which is a weird choice. (Fuck you Respawn)

After putting almost 2000 hours in this game -
The gameplay is smooth. Truly, it's so fun sliding around, using the abilities and shooting guns that feel good. The characters in this battle royale are off the charts good. Each one is fleshed out with their own personality, story, abilities and everything else. I would say the characters (and story) is one of the highlights of this game.
The bad -
The microtransactions and the COST for them is fucking insane. I don't know what's going on but its gotten worse as time has gone on. I was there from day one and I have to say I really miss the days where things were just simple.
I get that they have to make money on a F2P game but the way they are doing it now just does NOT look good.

I love this game and I've put a ton of hours in it. The constant changes to gameplay can get a little frustrating but I still love it. I love the lore and the fact that I can play with friends. It's absolutely one of my favorite games but I'm definitely going to be hard on it because there are still a lot of issues with it and they tend to cater towards pro players over casual players a lot.
