Soul Calibur is one of my favorite fighting games, I played a lot of the games and be able to grow attached to its great characters and bizzarre representation of "completely accurate historical events".
I am happy to confirm that Soul calibur 6 is one of the best entries in the franchise: it is able to resurrect the series after the weird the decision which led to SCV.
The gameplay is refined and merges a lot of the cool features that made it a classic in the first place. Brinngs back and even evolves the classical fighters while also bringing some great newcomers and exciting guest characters.
It has some flaws: the customization and the "Create a Character" mode is not as rich as previous titles, the story mode feels unrefined at times, and the weird decisions behind the roster size and DLC release raised a bunch of eyebrows at the time.
But aside from that, it is a blast, both alone and with friends. An really underrated Namco title. Big recommendations from me!

“SoulCalibur VI” potentially offers hours of single-player content but gets boring in a few minutes due to its lazy presentation. There are two story modes, both made of fights with verbose dialogue over static illustrations in between, like in visual novel games. You also bump into a lot of randomly customized models instead of actual characters from the main roster. The Libra of Soul mode got me tired in a few chapters despite having some interesting RPG elements.
The combat feels slightly more fluid and spectacular compared to the previous game. My first few fights were a little clunky, but I got dramatically better after some practice. The rock-paper-scissor mechanics were a potentially terrible idea, but the slow-motion definitely managed to add some tension. The game also happens to be a soft reboot of the first Soul Calibur, or I should say a huge excuse to bring back the fan-favorite characters and answer to the complaints on the Soul Calibur V roster.
It still feels a little dated in comparison to other top-tier fighting games of the same generation, but it could be fun to play once in a while with friends.

A solid entry to the SoulCalibur series.
Similarly to the previous games, the story mode is unfortunately boring at best, but everything else is pretty great.
Gameplay-wise, it's fun and varied, the character roster is nice and the character designs are creative and cool.
Customization is top tier as always, there are so many things you can customize in your characters, it's easily one of the best parts of the game.
Also, the amount of content is satisfying, and the multiplayer is decent.
Personally I'm not really a fan of the fact that many characters are paid DLC, I wish there was a progression system where you can unlock characters, but oh well...
Overall I think this game is genuinely fun, but there's definitely room for improvement.
Final Rating: "Good" ~ 7/10.

Vou resumir para vocês:
1. Compra o jogo
NOTA:

My personal favorite fighting game currently on the market.
Remember when 3D fighting games (As in they actually use the 3D space) were going to be the big thing? Then slowly but surely everyone started to gravitate back towards 2D fighting games. Now its only competitors are games that are owned by the same company (Tekken) or flawed anime ones.
So what makes these games fun? Being more tactical. Instead of trying to memorize a combo to deal as much damage to the enemies health bar, you tend to deal fewer but more meaningful hits to the enemy. This in conjunction with fully utilizing the 3D space of the fighting rings tends to make fights a large back and forth, giving you a larger range of attacks to try and catch the enemy off guard.
So while beginner friendly, it can also have a high skill ceiling (Though the latter is sometimes debated because...the internet...and some folks thinking that if a game doesn't give you carpal tunnel it doesn't require 'skill').
So what's new for this game? Well with the DLC this is one of, if not the biggest roster in the entire series. They've also made sure to go and edit characters so they don't feel copy and pasted like earlier entries, everyone feels fleshed out. A new mechanic that can parry and hit an opponent, that can be powerful if used at the right time, but exploited by more experienced players. And although not strictly 'new', characters now have a gauge that powers up and can be used to either pull off a super attack, or given a boost that enhances moves and attack power.
My only real complaint is that the second story mode where you create a character and roam around the world has its difficulty setting turned towards the easy side with no real way to change it. I'd say what's on offer for singleplayer folks is strong compared to its competitors, but not as deep as SC IV and not as vast as SC III's.

One of my most loved game series, I was excited when this was announced after quite a long dry-spell - and the idea of a reboot was something I was intrigued by.
The combat gameplay itself felt like a standard progression from it's predecessor, but I had a few issues with the story mode/s and the implementation of the reboot.
Rather than a deliberate artistic choice made by the writers, it felt more of a reaction to how Soul Calibur V was received than anything else, like they were saying 'We're really sorry about that, here's more of the same.' I get it from a business standpoint, but it didn't make much sense to me narratively - particularly as the game doesn't make it abundantly clear if it's just a retelling or a new timeline. Turns out it is actually a new timeline, but no explanation is given as to how or why that's happened. If this series continues perhaps this will become clear but for now I'm scratching my head.
Regardless, the concept of a reboot holds a lot of potential for a series like this that has such a lore and story to it - but I do not feel that the potential was met. I think it is well known the development for this game was rushed and so it makes sense that they focused on the core gameplay and character creation above else.
To look at positives, it delivers what you would expect from a modern generation Soul Calibur game well enough.
I do hope that if this series continues they give it the love and attention it deserves, and have the courage to take a few risks.
