Good old classic worth checking out even today!

Heroes v villains mode all the way bb.

Some experiences can never be recreated

Absolute classic (personally I like the first one better but I recognize how much of an improvement this one is)

Pinnacle of Star Wars games, that multiplayer was so good.

A classic: so nostalgic and fun. Great game from an era of gaming that no longer exists

"What I remember about the rise of the Empire is... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight back to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word."

No game has really managed to capture what the OG Battlefront 2 had to offer. Extremely fun large-scale battles with a SinglePlayer option, and modes that add hours upon hours of gameplay.

I booted up Quick Match all the time and spent 10 minutes racking up maps that would play in the queue, even if I was only playing for a few hours. I just wanted to jump in and play some Star Wars action, and it was good at that. It took a new spin on Space Battles so they weren't just meaningless dogfights - you could land on the enemy ship and blow it up from the inside, or blow it up from the exterior with bombers. It made me feel less useless for not being an adept pilot.

Heroes vs. Villains was a fun and ridiculous time too with how silly it was.

But the kings of this game were the Story campaign and Galactic Conquest. The story following the 501st Legion isn't canon anymore, but it was dark, and showed the fate of the 501st throughout the reign of the Empire, and the fall of Clone Troopers as well, all narrated by Temeura Morrison. It's just... Chef's kiss. Beautifully grim.

And Galactic Conquest! Why hasn't any game tried to make a mode like this? It's not only strategic, but it was so thrilling to boot up a campaign and to rearrange where my ships were stationed so I could be ready for the enemy fleet. I remember getting annoyed by space battles so I'd dodge my ships around when it seemed like the enemy was closing in on one of my planets so we could fight on the ground instead.

I could gush about why Battlefront 2 is a fun shooter all day honestly, but it really is a game I put a ton of hours into and I have a deep connection towards.

Score: 94

Você fez a minha infância também, te adoro

This is an upgrade from the first Game in every way except that 90% of the Maps are now boring indoor corridors. Gone are Huge Battlefields with both Ground and Air Combat.

Also you can play as the Jedi now but they don't appear as CPU enemies (in the PS2 version at least). Even if they would they are siginificantly weaker compared to their BF1 counterparts so fighting them wouldn't be as fun anyways.

Despite their efforts this ends up being a less fun game than the first one

Amazing game back in the day, tons of content for the single player or with friends. Very playable today with the original PC port, probably should avoid the recent re-release...

eu joguei isso quando tinha uns 8 anos e mesmo sem saber absolutamente nada de star wars eu ainda assim joguei isso aqui demais. pelo amor de deus que jogo bão. eu ainda não vi mais da metade dos filmes

THAT'S WHY THEY CALL IT THE GOAT! THE GOATTTTTTT

It's Battlefront II. It's awesome.

This is videogame royalty. I got this game for my 10th birthday and played it with my friends literally all night. The storymode was a fun addition and a great improvement from the first Battlefront.

what an absolute treasure of a game.

You want to fight through iconic Star Wars battles? Fight in Star Wars vehicles? Role around as a Droideka? Fly an X-Wing and take down a Star Destroyer? Fight in a Jedi battle royale? This game has it all. It's kind of amazing how much content there is in this package. The diversity in game modes, with different maps, game types, factions, ground or space combat, all equally fully featured and all playable within a custom playlist against bots or with friends, is just staggering.

This game is basically Star Wars, but Battlefield, yet it never loses the unique visual design of Star Wars, and it knows the assignment: create a giant Star Wars playset, and let players run wild playing through it. The variety of units you can play as, from the basic Stormtrooper, to jet troopers, to Wookies, to Droidekas, it's every Star Wars fan's dream come true. Not to mention the heroes and their unique kits to play around with, tearing through basic troopers like it's nothing. All hero game modes are especially fun, with just a huge roster of characters to play, it all turns to utter chaos, but god damn is it always fun. Space battles are the icing on the cake, letting you truly experience your favourite part of Star Wars, no matter what it may be.

To top it all off, this game has a surprisingly good campaign story mode. The story is quite gripping, telling the story of the 501st Legion from the Clone Wars through the Galactic Civil War, with some surprisingly mature writing thrown in to deliver a solid entry into the old Star Wars canon. The missions, while repurposing multiplayer maps, do a good job of maintaining the atmosphere, and also can provide a surprising challenge. It's a great campaign, worth playing the game just to experience.

While games like KOTOR might be the apex of Star Wars storytelling, this might be the apex of everything else Star Wars. The amount of content to play around with makes this an insane value, and the quality of that content doesn't dissapoint after hours and hours of play. To me, this is the best Star Wars game ever made, and it's a shame that nothing has really been able to replicate it's level of variety, fun, and enagement.

If no one else got me, I know that Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005) got me.

One of the few games I can still come back to when/wherever and still have a BLAST another one tied for my favorite game of all time but it has the most re-playability out of any game I think I've ever played. Unbelievable how well it holds up and is still a blast.

The greatest gift God has ever gave us.
This game is the quintessential Star Wars experience and nothing ever after has still reached its peakes. Godly large scale earth and space battles, large class selection, amazing single player, heroes vs villains and much, much more. You cannot make a Star Wars fan happier than this.

Favorite crunchy quote: SUPER BATTLE DROID! TAKE IT DOWN!

A game very clearly ahead of its time, with its large scale battles and solid gameplay. Some amazing features that didn’t even make it onto it the modern battlefronts. The campaign is engaging and provides a great non canon narrative of the clones following order 66.
Galactic conquest a mode that the modern battlefronts are significantly lacking. Providing so much offline replay-ability and fun. Splitscreen is also a reminder of something missing in newer games. The space combat is a feature that is a game changer. The ability to board the enemy craft is so engaging.
I think some of the classes are unbalanced, and one thing I think that the modern battlefront 2 has over this it’s the battle point system. I don’t like how easy it is to get other units and hero’s. They should be more of a reward to get. Also I think some of the maps aren’t thought out the best but the majority are great

A great game that complements the first one.

the blueprint for the perfect third person/first person hybrid shooter game, helldivers 2 developers pray for this game's existence every night before sleep

It could have been a 'Call of Duty' milking a famous brand, but it's really a great war game. Something that still shock me today is the quantity of scenarios and the variety of the classes, but what makes this game so damn good is the multiplayer, a multiplayer that it's still maintained alive by the community.
