this is a perfect roguelite, this is a perfect game.
people who arent used to this type of game might be pushed away and i strongly believe everyone should give it a chance.
it's easily one of the most addicting games i've ever played.
sure there are 700+ items, but it is literally never overwhelming, because you just figure out as you play. it is VERY fun seeing tons of new items constantly. and even when you are familiar with all of these items it's still very fun seeing how they all work together. the whole synergy system or whatever is sososososososo fun and is definitely why i can sink so many hours in this game.
i can play this game forever and i really think you can too.

(Ranking as I beat each expansion's final boss) One of the best, if not the best rougelite I ever played. The gameplay loop just sucks me in so so much and I adore the religious direction the game goes in, giving it such a unique form of identity. I've dug hundreds of hours into this game through many different ports of it and it never gets old for me. One of the best remakes for sure.
Probably the best roguelike to ever exist. The fact that it has so many dang expansion is mindblowing and while you probably need a wiki to understand what you just picked up, it is hard to compare to anything else in the genre in terms of quality, scope and satisfaction when you get an OP build and dominate Mega Satan.
This is, without question, the best roguelike to have ever been conceived. There is no shortage of content in this game. Seriously, I’ve sunk 1200+ hours into it, and I still don’t have 100 percent of the achievements (although, in fairness, I did used to leave my computer running with this game still open lmao). It feels awesome completing runs of this game, or finding the most busted builds you can obtain. This game literally does everything right, and I am so grateful for the hours of joy it has brought me.
I believe that The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has become a key genre defining title for modern roguelikes/lites. Despite some present flaws, they are vastly outshined by a consistently different gameplay loop. While your end goal might be the same, the way you get there or which goal you choose can differ wildly. A vast array of characters with a span of different mechanics allows the game to feel even more unique, and mods only crank this up to 11.
